Story
Tyson is for the most part a good dog. He is 7 years old. He's a guard dog that barks when he hears noises. He is friendly with men but has a hard time with women and children. He likes to cuddle and sleep on the bed. He is crate trained and knows commands like sit, down, shake and stay. He doesn't mind getting a bath as long as water is warm. He eats practically any food you give him or food he can find. He gets along fine with other dogs and likes to just lounge around most of the time. I'm very sad I have to get rid of him but landlord says no pitbulls. He makes a very good companion dog. I don't have any paperwork on him. I got him from a family in 2020 that was in a similar situation. They had to move into a place that didn't accept dogs. If your interested contact me. I do work mon-fri 8 a.m. to 430 p.m. but I will try to get back to you as soon as I can. Thank you

Story
Meet Apollo! He is a 5-and-a-half-year-old Boxer mix who is looking for his forever home. This big boy is pretty quiet for the most part and just enjoys hanging out with you. He`s well-mannered and laid back for the most part. Apollo is very affectionate towards people and is a super friendly dog. He`s been keeping his kennel area pretty tidy, so we think he might be potty trained. He is manageable on a leash until he sees something of interest, like a squirrel, and then he is very strong. Apollo has a pretty high prey drive, so we don`t know if he`d do the best with feline friends. Apollo has been tested with other dogs and he did well, but can sometimes be forward. He could potentially go home with another dog as long as it`s a good match. This sweet boy deserves a loving home. Does he sound like a good match for you?

Story
Ryder is a truly special boy. He's a Dogo Argentino. His front legs are extremely deformed and we call him Jelly Legs. We've been down this road before (some of you may remember our original Wonky Legs, aka Jem). We figured we'd be taking on a major medical case, have to do lots of fundraising, but we'd find a way to "fix" his legs if possible. Well, months later, our sweet Jelly Legs is always going to remain Jelly Legs. We have consulted with some of the top orthopedic teams in the country, and the answers have always been the same. It boils down to this: "...feel that any surgery options he has would only have very minimal impact on his lameness and would do little to slow the progression of his arthritis. He may also require several surgeries to achieve even minimal improvement. Essentially, the surgical process and recovery would not outweigh the benefit." All of the teams have been lovely and we really appreciate their input and their honesty that surgery wouldn't have the outcome we hoped for. And so, we move on and look to Ryder's future! He does not act as if he's in pain, but he has to be - at the very least - in a measure of discomfort. This bubs never lets on though. He's such a happy-go-lucky lovebug! Because of his legs, he can't really hold a bone or toy in between his front paws, like you've seen a million dogs do. His foster mama will sit with him on the couch and hold a bone for him, and he will happily gnaw away on it for an hour while she watches TV or reads a book. He still loves to play, he LOVES to give kisses, he loves to cuddle. He's such a handsome guy! We asked Ryder for his wishlist and here was his response: - Need to be the one and only pet - Carpet is nice but not a requirement! It's so much easier for me to navigate (even walking outside, I prefer to walk on the grass over the sidewalk, more cush for my joints) - No more than 3 steps to get in and out of the house is also ideal, stairs aren't my friend - I gets vocal when I'm lonely. I can howl with the best of them. I'm not at all destructive, but I'd be sad with someone who was gone 10 hours a day - Cheese. I need lots of cheese. - A dad with a bald head would be ideal. Polishing my foster dad's noggin is my favorite pastime. - I may weigh 85 lbs, but I'm a lapdog. Yes, I am. I fit, I swear. - I love to give kisses, it's my favorite Ryder is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and in much better health than when he came to us. He and his brother were found in an abandoned building in Chicago Heights, with some severe skin infections and grossly underweight. This boy looks SO much better than he did, and he really is a happy and healthy guy. He doesn't let birth defect get him down at all! His adoption fee is $250.

Story
PLEASE READ THE BIO AND DON'T INQUIRE SIMPLY BASED ON HER PICTURE! UNTIL POSIE GOT TO HER FOSTER FAMILY, WE BELIEVE SHE SPENT THE MAJORITY OF HER LIFE IN A CRATE, UNFAMILIAR WITH THE OUTDOORS, MINIMAL INTERACTIONS WITH PEOPLE, AND HAD NEVER FELT GRASS. Nicknames: Posie Rosie, piglet, mamas Breed: Bully mix? Frenchie mix? Pittie Mix? Frenchie/Pit? Age: 3 years Weight: short and stocky. Key descriptors: Lovable. Silly. Snuggly. Opinionated. Hungry. Energy level: low. She is the queen of daytime naps, she went on her first half mile walk and I think she said 1 was enough for the rest of her life. She will chase a ball or toy if thrown, and bring it back. What we love: She’s a snuggler. She’s a comedian with her ears and bully wiggle. What she loves: Food. Lovins. Naps. Toys. Her bed. Snuggles. All of the attention. Treats What makes us laugh: Her EARS that can’t decide if they are yoda, frenchie or pug. The random tooth that with snaggle her lip. How fast she thinks she’s going when she has the zoomies but she’s got tiny legs! The fact that at any point of the day she wants to be breathing the same cubic inch of air as you. How excited she gets when she experiences something new; running around and make sure to lean in for a hug each lap! What she knows: Sit. Come. Look. What she’s working on: Taking treats less piranha-like. Building her confidence around strangers, and outside. Keeping four on the floor. Learning how to be a dog. House-trained: No. potty pad trained and with time & consistency she could be now that she’s getting over her fear of outside. When she gets excited she will mouth your hands but not bite. She’s SMART! Learned to potty pad train & look command in a matter of hours. Treat motivated! Dogs: She’s fostered with one male dogs now and has done well with slow introduction. She has not met any female dogs. She has become more vocal (talk) when she wants your attention or is happy to see you! Loves to chew her toys, and has started getting zoomies! She could be fine as a solo gal! Cats: Not tested. No littles, preferably 12+. She will steal food out of their hands and probably take the plate, too. Fast movements are a no go for her, she startles easily. Bark: only when she's excited or to alert. Will stop when you acknowledge her. She does not bark while left home, she’s busy napping. Crate-trained: currently only rides in her crate for long car rides, as we believe she spent a lot of time in her earlier days in her crate. She does well in her own space with her potty pad and bed with a couple toys. What she needs: a home with consistent schedule, experience in rehabilitating dogs from abuse/neglect.

Tina was found as a stray roaming the streets. She was brought in by a wonderful woman who contacted us to foster and give her a second chance. Tina is a great dog who wants to be an only dog. We have brought in trainers to help the foster, but Tina is still determined to enjoy her forever home as the only pet.
