Hi there! I'm Major, a sweet 1-year-old boy who was rescued as a stray in Alabama by Big Dog Ranch Rescue. I might be a little shy at first, but once I warm up, my affectionate personality shines through! I just need a family that will understand this. Story
Greetings, I am Rocky, a striking soul who defied the odds. I was found in a garbage can, clinging to life, until the day fate intervened, and I was rescued from the brink of despair in Georgia. Carried to the embrace of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, I embarked on a quest to find a haven to call my own. Within my charismatic exterior resides the boundless energy of youth, a heart that leaps with joy in the company of people and fellow canine companions. Walking, swimming, and the thrill of toy-filled adventures are my daily delights. With a spring in my step, I can leap to impressive heights, a testament to my exuberance. Yet, I bear the hallmark of puppyhood-a penchant for chewing, a habit that Kong's and Nyla bones help curb. Yearning to be the best companion I can be, I welcome the opportunity for training and guidance. My story is yet to be written, and I hope it intertwines with the chapters of your life. Fill out an application, come meet me, and together, let's embark on a journey of shared adventures and unwavering companionship.

Story
Hello, I'm Stevie Ticks, a grateful rescue who once roamed as a stray, and I'm overjoyed that Big Dog Ranch welcomed me into their fold. My heart's deepest wish is to find an adult-only family where I can be the cherished princess, soaking up an abundance of love and attention. To help me become the happiest lady I can be, I'd thrive under the guidance of an experienced dog owner who understands my unique quirks. A yard to roam and play in would be a dream come true. I've already mastered potty-training and make an excellent companion for walks or runs, though I also know when it's time for a calm, restful nap indoors. I come equipped with a repertoire of tricks like "paw" and "sit," and I'll do just about anything for a tasty treat. While I'm improving my leash manners, I can't contain my excitement when I spot a cat, squirrel, or peacock. I'm a fan of chewing, so a quality bone or toy will keep me happily occupied. After a nice walk, I relish cuddling up with you or resting on a cozy dog bed. Please be aware, a cat-free home is a must, and kindly let the local wildlife know that I'm joining the neighborhood soon! Ready to invite me into your world?

Story
Hey there, I'm Midnight! I'm a lover of the great outdoors and a firm believer in the power of play. My journey to the shelter? A bit of a laugh, really. One day, I decided to channel my inner brave explorer, and off I went, chasing a squirrel. That squirrel led me on a wild chase that ended with me accidentally gatecrashing a yoga class in the park. After causing a downward dog pile-up, I was kindly escorted here. I'm a friendly, sweet soul who's always up for a game of fetch or a good belly rub. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and a bit of brave exploration to your life. So, how about it? Ready to add a dash of Midnight to your days? The adoption fee is $300. The age requirement to adopt is 25+ years old.   All dogs are spayed or neutered, chipped and UTD on hw and flea preventative and all age appropriate vaccines. ##1583149##

Story
Sunshine is a female Boxer mix who was rescued off the streets by a wonderful woman named Hailey who is now unable to keep her (although she would love to!!) Sunshine is a quiet and incredibly loving and sweet dog. She loves to just lay with you and cuddle close. When she is around other dogs, she likes to play fetch and have a good time. An incredible dog who would make an amazing addition to any family. Her foster mom thinks Sunshine may have experienced abuse in the past because when she tries to pet her without warning she flinches in fear and is afraid to drink water or eat food without permission. We are hoping to find a loving home for her where she can feel safe. Sunshine is currently in South Florida and foster is willing to travel for the right adopter. If you are interested in learning more or in meeting Sunshine, please contact HAILEY ROSA at (813) 428-1300 or via email at hailey.rosa@yahoo.com. DISCLAIMER: Happy Tails Dog Rescue is helping Hailey market Sunshine for a new home but has otherwise not had any involvement. Story
Leah is a 6 yr old AKC Boxer with a friendly and loving personality. She is obedient, completely house trained, crate trained and loves to go to the dog park. She is a good watch dog and alerts me when anybody is nearby. She has never been aggressive towards anyone or any other dog. She does well with children, but needs supervision, with little ones, due to her size. I have a Boston Terrier too, and they get along well. She has never been close to a cat, so I can't say how she would react. I have painful spinal stenosis and just cannot take her on regular walks anymore. She is a strong girl, and needs a stronger hand at the leash than mine. I purchased her from a reputable breeder, here in Florida and she has no health issues. She thinks she is still a puppy. She really needs a home where she can exercise in a yard, or taken on daily walks. I live in a condo without a yard.

These pups are in Wellington, Florida too!

Story
I found out on 12/30 that one of the Pawsitive Direction Program dogs from 2021, Zoe, needs to be returned to LARC. As of today, 1/3, I have 9 days to find a foster or new forever home. Zoe graduated from the 14th session of the program, but didn’t get adopted. She started the last session of the program which had to end abruptly half way through because the FDC closed workcamps across the state and we were happy to find a home for her. Zoe’s adopters let their son take her when he moved out and got married. He decided to enlist in the military and leaves for bootcamp on 1/12 and, while I applaud his desire to serve his country, the decision leaves Zoe in a very sad situation. His wife is unable to keep her because she’s moving back in with a family member who doesn’t like Bully breeds. His parents, the original adopters, can’t take her back due to divorce. Zoe is 6 years old now. She is dog reactive and not a fan of cats, so she needs to be the only animal in the home. She is very kid and people friendly. From the son: “Zoe is a loving dog. Unfortunately, she needs to be the only dog in the household since she doesn't do well with other dogs or cats. She can be walked, but she doesn't like other dogs walking up to her. Zoe loves to play rope tug of war for instance. Loves to play fetch with a ball, but doesn't really like to bring it back, she will chase it though. She loves to go on nature walks and loves to run around the beach. She likes to just lay in the sun whether it be in the backyard or the beach. She loves boat rides and jumping into the water. She loves car rides and sticking her head out the window. Zoe loves kids and adults of all ages. Zoe knows all her commands. Her commands are sit, stay, lay down, place, heel, house, wait, and take. She is up to date on all shots and microchipped [she is spayed, as well]. She eats Purina Pro Plan for sensitive skin & stomach. Salmon and Rice Formula only. I am currently going into the Marines and they won't let me take my pitty. This beautiful pitty is a great loving dog and I hope I can find her a good home. It would be an honor and truly appreciated to have her in a safe home.” If you can help me help Zoe by giving her a soft place to land as she loses the family she loves, whether by fostering or adopting her, please send the PDP or LARC page a message ASAP. Interested adopters, please fill out and return the completed adoption application to loxanimalrescuecomm@gmail.com http://www.larcdogs.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/LARC-Adoption-Application.pdf www.facebook.com/loxanimalrescuecomm www.facebook.com/pawsitivedirectionprogram

Story
Howdy, my name is Corey! I came to Big Dog Ranch Rescue on their Freedom ride from Georgia in 2020 with my pal Adriana. We are a bonded pair and need to go home together. We need to be in an adult-only family and with NO OTHER ANIMALS. I would benefit greatly from an EXPERIENCED dog owner. I am potty-trained. I can't be crated and doorways scare me. We can both be stingy with our toys. We have lived here at Big Dog a long time and did benefit having a Foster home for awhile. If you can't adopt, please consider Fostering us.

Story
Quinn, affectionately known as Yasmin, has endured much. Rescued from a harrowing hoarding situation in Georgia, where neglect had her on death's doorstep, her journey to recovery began. Big Dog Ranch Rescue became her haven, but fate dealt another blow when her loving owner transitioned to assisted living. Despite her past, Yasmin remains a beacon of affection and grace, housetrained and eager to please with tricks like 'sit'. She has a penchant for melodic "songs" when seeking attention. While selective about canine companions, she radiates warmth with humans. After all she's faced, Yasmin's endearing eyes now search for a stable embrace and a forever home where she can finally find lasting peace and love.
