Story
Hey there, I'm Bulla, the lucky pup who made his way from the Bahamas to Big Dog Ranch Rescue. I'm a total sweetheart. I love being around people and basking in all the love and attention they have to offer. I'll be best as the only dog in your home to receive all the love you have to offer. I'm friendly with certain female dogs, but there can be only a select few. I've got a bit of a high prey drive. Those squirrels and birds just seem to bring out the hunter in me! Despite all that, I'm proud to say that I'm a staff favorite here at the rescue. With my winning personality and gentle demeanor, I've managed to win over the hearts of everyone I meet! Ready to bring a little piece of paradise into your life with yours truly, Bulla, by your side?

Hi there! I'm Major, a sweet 1-year-old boy who was rescued as a stray in Alabama by Big Dog Ranch Rescue. Story
Greetings, I am Rocky, a striking soul who defied the odds. I was found in a garbage can, clinging to life, until the day fate intervened, and I was rescued from the brink of despair in Georgia. Carried to the embrace of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, I embarked on a quest to find a haven to call my own. Within my charismatic exterior resides the boundless energy of youth, a heart that leaps with joy in the company of people and fellow canine companions. Walking, swimming, and the thrill of toy-filled adventures are my daily delights. With a spring in my step, I can leap to impressive heights, a testament to my exuberance. Yet, I bear the hallmark of puppyhood-a penchant for chewing, a habit that Kong's and Nyla bones help curb. Yearning to be the best companion I can be, I welcome the opportunity for training and guidance. My story is yet to be written, and I hope it intertwines with the chapters of your life. Fill out an application, come meet me, and together, let's embark on a journey of shared adventures and unwavering companionship.

Story
Sunshine is a female Boxer mix who was rescued off the streets by a wonderful woman named Hailey who is now unable to keep her (although she would love to!!) Sunshine is a quiet and incredibly loving and sweet dog. She loves to just lay with you and cuddle close. When she is around other dogs, she likes to play fetch and have a good time. An incredible dog who would make an amazing addition to any family. Her foster mom thinks Sunshine may have experienced abuse in the past because when she tries to pet her without warning she flinches in fear and is afraid to drink water or eat food without permission. We are hoping to find a loving home for her where she can feel safe. Sunshine is currently in South Florida and foster is willing to travel for the right adopter. If you are interested in learning more or in meeting Sunshine, please contact HAILEY ROSA at (813) 428-1300 or via email at hailey.rosa@yahoo.com. Story
Leah is a 6 yr old AKC Boxer with a friendly and loving personality. She is obedient, completely house trained, crate trained and loves to go to the dog park. She is a good watch dog and alerts me when anybody is nearby. She has never been aggressive towards anyone or any other dog. She does well with children, but needs supervision, with little ones, due to her size. I have a Boston Terrier too, and they get along well. She has never been close to a cat, so I can't say how she would react. I have painful spinal stenosis and just cannot take her on regular walks anymore. She is a strong girl, and needs a stronger hand at the leash than mine. I purchased her from a reputable breeder, here in Florida and she has no health issues. She thinks she is still a puppy. She really needs a home where she can exercise in a yard, or taken on daily walks. I live in a condo without a yard.

Story
I found out on 12/30 that one of the Pawsitive Direction Program dogs from 2021, Zoe, needs to be returned to LARC. As of today, 1/3, I have 9 days to find a foster or new forever home. Zoe graduated from the 14th session of the program, but didn’t get adopted. She started the last session of the program which had to end abruptly half way through because the FDC closed workcamps across the state and we were happy to find a home for her. Zoe’s adopters let their son take her when he moved out and got married. He decided to enlist in the military and leaves for bootcamp on 1/12 and, while I applaud his desire to serve his country, the decision leaves Zoe in a very sad situation. His wife is unable to keep her because she’s moving back in with a family member who doesn’t like Bully breeds. His parents, the original adopters, can’t take her back due to divorce. Zoe is 6 years old now. She is dog reactive and not a fan of cats, so she needs to be the only animal in the home. She is very kid and people friendly. From the son: “Zoe is a loving dog. Unfortunately, she needs to be the only dog in the household since she doesn't do well with other dogs or cats. She can be walked, but she doesn't like other dogs walking up to her. Zoe loves to play rope tug of war for instance. Loves to play fetch with a ball, but doesn't really like to bring it back, she will chase it though. She loves to go on nature walks and loves to run around the beach. She likes to just lay in the sun whether it be in the backyard or the beach. She loves boat rides and jumping into the water. She loves car rides and sticking her head out the window. Zoe loves kids and adults of all ages. Zoe knows all her commands. Her commands are sit, stay, lay down, place, heel, house, wait, and take. She is up to date on all shots and microchipped [she is spayed, as well]. She eats Purina Pro Plan for sensitive skin & stomach. Salmon and Rice Formula only. I am currently going into the Marines and they won't let me take my pitty. This beautiful pitty is a great loving dog and I hope I can find her a good home. It would be an honor and truly appreciated to have her in a safe home.” If you can help me help Zoe by giving her a soft place to land as she loses the family she loves, whether by fostering or adopting her, please send the PDP or LARC page a message ASAP. Interested adopters, please fill out and return the completed adoption application to loxanimalrescuecomm@gmail.com http://www.larcdogs.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/LARC-Adoption-Application.pdf www.facebook.com/loxanimalrescuecomm www.facebook.com/pawsitivedirectionprogram

Story
Hi, my name is Hazel. I was brought to Big Dog Ranch from another rescue in Broward County in hopes that I would find my FUR home. I have enjoyed my time here at the Ranch but it's been over a year and somehow people seem to just overlook this little lowrider. I can be a little standoffish when you first meet me but after a scratch behind the ear and a tummy rub I am all yours. I love toys and games, and I enjoy playing in the yard and getting some good pats from my good friends that care for me here at the Ranch. I love to explore in the yard and might chase a little critter every now and again. I LOVE going on walks and am getting better and better with my leash manners.

Story
Hello, I'm Sasha. I was rescued in Miami Dade and brought to Big Dog Ranch to find a new home back in the Spring. I had hoped for new beginnings but I am still here waiting. When I first arrived, I was painfully skinny, a testament to the hardships I've endured. I don't require much exercise, just a few gentle walks each day. The doctor says I have some arthritis in my hips, so I would prefer a much calmer home with a more experienced adopter who can handle my quirks. You see, I'm quite picky about my dog friends because of my sensitive legs, and I prefer to be in charge of the doggos. I would do best as the only dog in my home where I can get all of your attention. I'm also not fond of being squeezed or restrained, so I would like an adult only family. If that sounds like your home, you'll be rewarded with the sweetest thing you've ever met at your side. I'm loyal, lazy, and I have the best snaggletooth. What's not to love? After all I've been through, I'm ready to rest
