Story
Hey partner, Cowboy here, reportin’ for duty. I’ve been up since the crack of dawn hopin’ you would be coming up to ACAR to meet me. I’ve been practicing my tricks to impress you - sit, down, come, and even roll over! The staff believes I’m likely housebroken and have the ability to learn even MORE tricks, especially if there are cookies involved. I came in with another dog and did very well with her, and I think I could live with another pup again. The volunteers describe me as a “superstar,” but I’ll let you be the judge of that. Ask to meet me, and you’ll see!

Story
Fidget is a 2-year-old, 38-pound mixed breed searching for a patient home. He’s fearful but longs to trust and be loved.Once completely shut down in the shelter environment despite many efforts- a little over a month in foster care has brought glimpses of his sweet personality. He now even more is out wagging his tail, engaging with the world, playing with toys, and even giving kisses and following the humans he trusts. One of Fidget’s greatest strengths is his love for other animals—he adores dogs and does great with kitties. He thrives in the presence of social dogs, leaning on them for confidence and guidance. Because of this, Fidget would do best in a home with at least one friendly, social dog to help him continue coming out of his shell. He’s tolerant of handling, adjusts quickly to a potty schedule, is crate trained (though he may whine), and walks well on a leash.Fidget is a project, but with a kind home and a social dog companion, he has endless potential. If you’re ready for a rewarding journey ending with endless love, he could be the perfect match!

*By appointment only Hello, I'm Captain! I might be a bit shy when we first meet, but give me some time and I'll be your best friend. I love to play, and I have lots of energy to keep up with you! Being a Boxer, I'm full of zest and enthusiasm. I might take a little while to warm up, but once I do, you'll see how much fun I can be. I'm young and have a lot to learn, but I'm eager to learn with you. I promise, if you give me a chance, I'll be the most loyal companion you could ask for. Why should you adopt me? Because everyone needs a playful, energetic friend who will always be there for them, and that's me, Captain!

Story
We have had Tyson for 8 years. He has always been so loving and just wants to more attention than we can give right now. He loves sunbathing, running outside, and walks to explore (ok on a leash). He enjoys being alone, but will occasionally play with our younger dog. Tyson has become more anxious since our family has grown and he deserves a home with no kids and lots of attention. Ideally, we would like to keep both dogs together. They've been together for 6 years. He would not take well to other unfamiliar dogs in a new home.

Story
Ozzy is a 10-year-old, 70-pound Boxer mix who is ready to retire to a loving home! This sweet and fun guy loves attention, sleeping on comfy surfaces, and enjoying treats. He is potty trained, walks well on a leash, and enjoys the company of other dogs, particularly relaxed females. Ozzy loves to play with stuffies and bones, even hiding them around the house for later. He's easy to bathe and appreciates all the love and scratches he can get. Ozzy is best suited for a home with children 8 and older, as he can be a bit clumsy. He would thrive in a moderately busy home with some downtime. While he enjoys walks and playtime with other easygoing dogs, he's not a high-energy dog and doesn't require a fenced-in yard. He's eager to find his forever home and share his love with a new family.
