Story
Captain Goober came to us in bad shape. He had a very badly injured leg. We were lucky enough to get some funding from a special donor to the UF Small Animal Hospital and he was able to receive a very expensive and specialized surgery, and rehab to fix him. Captain was also very undersocialized with both humans and dogs. Due to this, he will likely time to warm up to any new people, but if you can be patient with him, he is such a good dog and has come so far! He also circles when nervous, but this is simply a soothing technique for him, and not a neurological concern. He absolutely is not fond of cats and should not go to a home with any cats or smaller animals. He has not been around children, but should be find with older kids, provided them give him time to warm up and let him come to them on his own. He would do best with a female dog that is playful but accepting of some pushy behvaiors. He will also have arthritis in his healed leg, and would do best on supplements. We are looking for an adopter with breed experience.

Story
UPDATE:  Scrappy LOVES other dogs and cats.  He is shy of people at first, someone must not have been very nice to him.  He loves to run in the yard.  He will need a fenced in yard.  Scrappy Doo is amazing once he is settled in.  He would require a few play dates to get used to his new surroundings.  We are hoping to find a local adopter so we can schedule playdates with Srappy Doo and make a smooth transition into his new home. A scared wild puppy was the first image we saw of Scrappy Do. We included that photo in his listing, it should be the last picture. He was so defeated. He had been captured by a property owner after his parents had attacked a goat on the farm. Our friends at animal control responded to the goat attack... they saw the parent dogs running away but the property owner had caught Scrappy! He was so upset and dispondent. Our friends at the shelter called us when he came in because they knew our fosters have that special touch!  Foster mom Barbara has been working her magic and he is doing GREAT now! He has a foster sister, Pebbles, who is quite the doggie ambassador. He is learning how to be a puppy and is loving his new life! He is not a very big boy, and is just so stunningly beautiful! He is not YET fixed but will be as soon as he is old enough!  Scrappy is up to date on all shots and is neutered. Scrappy is such a sweet gentle boy.  He is looking for his special someone.  His foster sister Pebbles has been adopted.  He loves other dogs and cats.  He is unsure about people at first.  He just needs that special someone who will understand that while his life did not start out the best they will make sure the rest of his life is filled with love.  He is crate trained.  We actually keep the door to his crate open as he feels secure in there.  He also loves toys and will collect all th toys he finds and take them to his crate.  That is his man cave.   ##1366278##

Story
My name is Coco. I'm a sweet 2 year old boxer X German Shepherd dog mix. I'm spayed and vaccinated. I'm good with other animals and kids. I'm housebroken, playful and sometimes goofy. I am a lot of things. What I am NOT is securely housed. In the morning, my human is moving out of state. Before ya'll get angry with my human... let me tell you a few things: She has been looking for weeks to rehome me properly. She has reached out to countless rescues and found no help because they are all FULL. She has been having terrible health issues and she cannot care for me like she used to. This breaks her heart but it is the only way forward for her and I am OK with it. So I need ya'll to be OK with it, too. So, tomorrow morning is my deadline. I think mom will be left with little option but to surrender me to an open intake shelter in a neighboring county. This is my hail Mary post and do you know what? I believe THIS post will be what finds me a forever home. This post will make it's way to you... whoever you are... you don't know it yet but I am your soul mate and your search for a companion is now over! Text QoL at 352-843-6858 and let them know that you can help save Coco!!! Ocala/Marion County FL ##2118372##

Great playful dog that would do well with space to run and lots of attention. Probably would be best being the only dog. Needs a little work on manners (jumping and barking) Kennel trained and great around kids and people.
