Story

Gypsys DNA test results are mostly Boxer, Husky, and German Shepherd. She bounces on her front legs when she is excited or wants something (we now know that comes from the Boxer in her). Gypsy is around 5 years of age and weighs around 75 pounds. Gypsy has been with us for 3 years, and we don't know why she has not been adopted yet. She is a very good girl and is the most obedient dog we have ever seen. She knows how to sit and comes when called. She is housetrained and very well behaved in the house. She likes her crate and sleeps in it with the door open. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a vehicle. Gypsy loves her toys, especially squeaky ones, and she loves playing fetch. Gypsy is active - she loves to run and play with toys and other dogs. She loves water and lays in the wading pool when it is hot, and we bet she would love snow. She gets excited about squirrels, cats, and critters on the other side of the fence. Gypsy loves human attention and is good with older children. Gypsy is smart and might benefit from more obedience training from someone firm, patient, and loving. Gypsy is a sweet dog. She gets attached to her human and likes to lay under my desk when I work on the computer. Gypsy must be in the house as a loved family member. She must be walked on a leash and have a yard with a 6' fence to run and play. To emphasize...although Gypsy generally gets along with all dogs (she currently lives in a home with 14 other dogs both large and small and there are no problems), She either needs to be the only dog in the house or only paired with one other large male dog. Gypsy has been with the rescue for 3 years and a change will be scary. She needs an experienced adopter who is patient understanding, and willing to give her the time she needs to get comfortable in a new home. She is a great dog for a single person or couple. Any children should be over 10 years of age. Gypsy spayed, tattooed, fully vaccinated (DAPPvL2, Bordatella, rabies), and microchipped. Gypsy had a light case of heartworms when we first got her. She is now heartworm-free and receives monthly heartworm and flea prevention. Gypsy is located in Texas but can be transported after she is adopted. Her adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Glastonbury, Danbury, Lisbon CT, or another scheduled stop closest to you. He was taken from a home in east TN due to neglect after it was discovered that the teenager in the home was killing small animals for fun Fortunately, he was taken into rescue and has been doing amazingly well in foster care! He is now ready to find his furever home, where he will be safe and loved for the rest of his days. Maui is a very sweet, friendly boy who is good with EVERYONE! He does great with other dogs, cats, people, and kids. He is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. From Maui's current foster: "Maui is an AMAZING dog. Before OMD: Found himself (as a stray) at the city shelter with a large, uncomfortable growth hanging off his back end. We picked him up from the shelter, got him straight to our vet, and had the growth removed and biopsied which came back as benign! Energy level: Intermittent high. He’ll play fetch until your arms fall off, is always up for a game of tug, and will walk forever. He’s also thrilled when it’s time to relax and he’ll cozy up to you on the couch. Oliver is a sweet 7 months old beagle mix who was rescued from an abandoned building of Houston. Oliver is a very adorable and loving puppy, who sleeps from 9 pm to 6 am without a peep. He is used to being by himself as his foster parents work. He lives with two doggie brothers but has not been tested with kitties. He is still a puppy, so he has some puppy energy and is playful. He is also trainable as he is very intelligent. A home with a fully fenced yard would be mandatory for her, as well as a family who can dedicate time, patience and love.
