Story
Brutus, a protective and loyal companion, never stood a chance in the traditional shelter environment. Surrounded by unfamiliar faces and uncertain about his future, he was overwhelmed and scared. Unfortunately, the traditional shelter system was not equipped to address his specific needs, leaving him set up for failure. Recognizing this, we made the compassionate decision to take him in and give him a chance at a better life.
We owe a heartfelt thank you to Amy, the person who stepped up for Brutus and fought for his life. Amy's unwavering dedication and pleas on his behalf have not gone unnoticed. It is through her efforts that we have hope that someone out there will also step up for Brutus and provide him with the love and care he deserves.
Despite his challenging past, Brutus has been neutered, microchipped, and is ready to find his forever home. He has shown positive interactions with both neutered male and female dogs during his time with us.
While he did display some food aggression towards a smaller male, it is an area that can be worked on with proper training and guidance.
One thing is for certain, Brutus adores people and will make an incredible companion for someone looking for an only dog. Additionally, he has proven to be well-behaved when it comes to potty training and has never made any messes in his enclosed, heated trailer.
At 60 lbs, he is a quiet sleeper and can comfortably sleep in a crate. Although he may still need some work on jumping, his teeth are clean, and he is estimated to be around 2 years old. While he tends to prefer the company of female dogs, introductions should be done slowly and carefully to ensure a smooth transition.
Despite our best efforts, we are still searching for a kind hearted person to take in this deserving pup, as he was retrieved from a Colorado to prevent him from being euthanized.
