Story
Greetings and salutations, Colorado, it’s me, Gonzo! I like to fancy myself a courteous and honorable gent, and my mom always told me begging is bad manners, but the Underdogs assured me that begging for a hero to help save you is the exception to that rule. Allow me to properly introduce myself. My name is Gonzo and I’m a 2-3 year-old gentle giant Boxer/American Bulldog mix buddy and I'm crossing all my paws for a hero foster or adopter. My Underdogs foster folks can only surmise that I was once somebody’s well-loved guy before I ended up in the dog clink.  I have impeccable bathroom manners, walk politely on leash and lounge quietly on my dog bed.  I’ll never know why my previous peoples stopped loving me and why they left me to wander the cold winter streets alone. What I do know, though, is that I’ve never stopped loving the peoples, ALL the peoples. Because man alive, do I love them! I could sweetly lean into them for pets and cuddles all day long. And if they gave me proper permission, I’d also happily cover them in my signature Gonzo smooches. It’s also my sole mission in life to make them laugh with my hilarious antics and sweet demeanor. I'm a calm dude in the home, but I also love to go for runs, walks and hikes. Basically, I'm down for all the Colorado adventuring.  I do well around other good fit dog friends, but my best fit home may be one where I'm your only four-legged best bud. Believe me, I've got so much love to give, one Gonzo guy is all you'll ever need. I truly am such an easy well-mannered giant lover, I just know you'll love me once you meet me.  I'm neutered, vaccinated  If you’re interested in learning more about me and hopefully set up a meeting, please fill out an adoption application at https://underdogsrescue.org/adopt-form/  and if you're interested in helping spring me from this sad and lonely dog clink by helping to foster me, I would be soo sooo grateful, please fill out a foster application at https://underdogsrescue.org/foster-form/ .  ##1906137##

Story
Senior alert! This spunky, older fellow is around 55 pounds, 8-10ish years old, and we believe a boxer/pit mix. His four-year-old human foster sibling named him Rex! Rex has had rough life as evidenced by the roadmap of scars on his skin. He was skinny and unhealthy when rescued with terrible allergies, parasites, some lumps that needed to be removed, and teeth that needed cleaning. Rex was picked up as a stray in Houston with many painful, ulcerated burn marks on his paws and underside, thought to be from trauma from being on concrete in the hot sun. He then almost lost his life when he landed on the euthanasia list due to space at a high kill shelter. Despite all of those things, Rex loves people and his forgiveness for our species is very gracious. He reminds us all that age is just a number and resilience can open doors for life to improve for the better. Rex has done well with the kids and all the other dogs in his foster home. He seems to be crate trained and housetrained. We are looking for a forever family to spoil Rex for his remaining time on earth. We have promised to find him a family that will give him regular meals, cuddles, stability, and vet care (though he definitely has a phobia/distrust of the doctor’s office😬). He also requests bed and furniture privileges as he’s becoming rather accustomed to those and appreciates snuggling under his blankets 😂. He is not shy about demanding what he wants and has quite the personality. Rex is still fairly spry and with decent mobility for his age, though he does benefit from some arthritis management. Rex would most appreciate a mature household where he can be a happy home-body living his best predictable life complete with daily treats and pets. Rex is being fostered in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/rex/. Story
Sweet, senior, Pebbles is looking for her permanent retirement home. This frosted face beauty is a 10 year old, 53 lbs, Boxer. She originally entered rescue this summer, however, she was heartworm positive and in major need of a dental. She had her heartworm treatment, got her teeth cleaned and had a bunch of extractions, and now she’s as good as new!! Pebbles is a very dog friendly girl. She greets strangers with her sweet old lady smile, too. In her foster home she enjoys snuggling on the couch and curling up with her canine foster siblings at night in a cozy dog bed. She’s non-destructive and seems house trained. Pebbles is in foster in Brighton, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/pebbles You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Meet Buster, a loving 5-year-old Boxer mix who’s looking for a patient and understanding forever home. Rescued as a stray from a high-kill shelter, Buster has some anxiety triggers and needs a special kind of home where his fears can be addressed with care. Buster isn’t fond of people putting their hands near his face, so he needs a family who can respect his boundaries and work with him gently. He tends to bond strongly with one person and would thrive best in a quieter, single-person household. In return, Buster offers deep loyalty and affection to his chosen person. Buster is good with his main caregiver but requires an experienced owner who can help him build trust and confidence. He also has skin allergies and is on a specialized diet of only pork and fish to keep him healthy. If you’re an experienced dog owner with a calm home environment and a heart full of patience, Buster could be the perfect companion for you. With the right support, he will become a loving and devoted member of your family.

Story
Meet Yasmin, a 100% pitbull that weighs around 40 pounds! Despite her petite size she is full of energy and life and is looking for a home to call her own! She is a super love bug once she gets to know you and she is protective over her human(s). Yasmin is looking for an active household that is also going to keep up with her training! She comes with 2 free lessons with her trainer! She has been getting basic obedience as well as behavioral modification on and off since we rescued her and is currently back in board and train now and has been the last few months. Yasmin needs a strong handler and someone that has owned a pitbull before. She can live with other dogs just fine and she does take time to warm up to new people in the household so either no kids in the home or a very dog savvy kid that will understand Yasmins boundaries. She would love to go on walks, hikes, camping, to the beach, etc! She is up for anything and she does great in the car. Looking for a new adventure buddy Yasmin is your girl! She is currently in the Portland, Oregon area with her trainer and can also be adopted anywhere in California! If interested in adopting Yasmin you can fill out the adoption application here www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptionsNovember 6, 2024, 2:40 pm
