Hola! My name is GABO and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Boxer Mix Age: About 8 years Gender: Male Weight: 50 lbs (23 kg) Height: 71 cm (paws to top of my head) Length: 82 cm (head to butt) Current Location: MEXICO CITY RESCUE STORY - When I was just a puppy (about 8 months old) my "owners" abandoned me on a high-traffic main road; a place where dogs are often dropped by people wanting to get rid of us for good. I was so skinny and scared! Luckily, I was rescued by some wonderful hoomans, who took me to the shelter. I have been a good boy living in the shelter for the last SEVEN YEARS! I really hope that I can find my furever home soon! TEMPERAMENT - I am a happy, playful and well-behaved boy. I am very sweet and friendly with humans and dogs alike and I LOVE to go for walkies! I love to eat pretty well anything - but my favourite foods are sausages, tortillas, bread and carrots! I am so excited to snuggle and play with my new family! Here is a video of me getting some pets! ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - I am a sweet and well-behaved boy who loves attention, playing and walkies! Here are some videos of me on a walk! walk 1 walk 2 walk 3 GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown. Dogs – Yes - I get along well with other dogs in my shelter and that I meet on walks. Cats – Unknown. PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Work in progress. I have been working on my leash skills, but I don't pull! I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success! Gabo Meets other Dogs House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :) Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted, particularly dogs who have lived for long periods at the shelter. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. Meet Dini, an energetic 11 month old Mastiff/Boxer mix, with a heart brimming full of love and enthusiasm for life! A behaviour counselling session with our Adoption Staff is necessary before adopting her. Dini was surrendered to us after her leg healed improperly after breaking it and needed to be amputated. She is now all healed up and ready to go, go, go! Despite having one leg less than her other doggy cohorts, she still manages to keep up with the best of us and loves chasing after toys and balls! She does however, tire quicker than other dogs her age and would love having a comfy couch and a loving lap to relax in after.This girl will need a confident, experienced owner who is dedicated to further training, particularly in the areas of socialization and reactivity in order to improve her interactions with other animals. Because she has these issues, a household with small children and other pets is not recommended.Dini has bilateral ectropion, which is common for her breed, so her eyes will often look red, as they will trap more environmental contaminants. She may require saline rinses and/or lubricating eye drops to keep her eyes healthy and prevent conjunctivitis. Dini's ideal home would be one that has a backyard in a more rural setting where she would be showered with all of the attention and affection she so desperately desires. A calm, patient and committed human that is capable of handling a behaviorally complex puppy.If you're looking for a loving companion who will fill your life with joy, Dini is ready to bring her warmth and affection into your home.
