Story
Stella may be a little in her shell when you first meet, but she is readily won over with food and soon shows you her fun side! She is a playful girl who has some energy to burn, but she'll help you out - she likes to take the leash and walk herself! This smarty is treat-motivated and would be fun to teach tricks. She shows signs of being housetrained and has been friendly with males dogs (only). Stella would do best with a solid fence, as she likes to protect her property - but only behind a fence for extra courage!  ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB:  Sep 2021 ~  Intake Weight:  45# (thin)~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlJanuary 24, 2025, 10:57 pm

Story
Bonnie is a playful girl who loves fetch and other dogs. Once she has bonded with you, she will also love hanging out on the couch. Bonnie is goofy, funny, and also smart - she already knows sit and down, and is easy to train (she loves earning treats!).    ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB:  Feb 2019  ~  Est Weight:  50#  ~  Adoption details/application:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlJanuary 22, 2025, 7:07 pm

Jet really likes people, so he works his very best to be the bravest boy. He will be your shadow and loves to have someone to hang out with. He also loves his treats, and has been learning his basic behaviors to make his new family happy. Story
Bruce is a big beefy lap dog dog! This hunk has a medium energy level, so his size won't overwhelm you (except when he is trying to get in your lap). Plus he is a very well mannered good boy. He loves playing fetch but also enjoys snuggles and belly rubs. Despite being perhaps the biggest kid on the block, he is still young enough that he needs guidance in new situations - a little praise and encouragement from his best bud (that's you!) and he is good to go! For dog friends, he prefers a relaxed companion who likes to just hang out.   ***Our pups don't tell us who their parents are - BREED is a GUESS*** ~  Est DOB: Nov 2023 ~  Intake Weight:  78#~  Adoption details:  calhouncountyhs.blogspot.com/p/adopt.htmlNovember 1, 2024, 11:11 pm

Story
Meet Queen (nicknames: Queen Bean, and Queen of the Beans) Queen is a gentle, loving mama whose puppies have all found homes—now it’s her turn to shine! She’s the perfect companion, great with dogs, cats, chickens, kids—basically anyone she meets! Playful and silly, especially with other dogs, her short-legged zoomies will have you laughing in no time. But most of the time, she’s so quiet and low-maintenance, you might forget she’s even there. Well, until you catch sight of her forever wiggle butt squeezing into spaces she doesn’t quite fit! While she’s still getting the hang of walking on a leash, she’s an excellent riding buddy and loves to be close. Super snuggly but equally happy in her crate, she runs there any time she thinks it’s time to eat! Just don’t let her fool you with her big booty—she’s a bit clumsy and sometimes seems blissfully unaware of her surroundings. Queen’s no jumper either, but her little dance next to the bed will tell you she’s ready to be picked up. And when she decides to join in, forget about personal space—she’ll wedge herself right next to you, but thankfully, she’s not a licker! She just nudges her head into you, rolls onto her back, and throws her feet in the air. If you’re looking for an easy, house-trained, calm but playful young adult who brings joy, cuddles, and plenty of smiles, Queen is your girl! Story
AMOS is looking for a forever home down south🖤 Amos needs a dog-savvy and patient family. He is learning to trust all over again! We aren’t sure about his history, but he is learning that the rest of his life will be full of love and comfort. Amos is an approximately 2-3 year old boxer/lab mix that is about 65 lbs. He is incredibly sweet and loves being loved on, and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body. His trust is getting better with his foster family, but still is uncomfortable around strangers. We know with the lots of love and affection, he will trust his forever family fully! 🏡 Amos came to his foster family badly injured and still has big scars. We believe that he was tethered by a back leg and burned. He has regrown the hair in his back but not his hip and back leg but it just shows his resilience through what he’s experienced. He has the best underbite, too! 🐶 Amos is great with other dogs and cats. He would be great with kids as long as the family understands it will take a while for him to adjust. His foster mom says he is very clumsy though, so may accidentally step on a young kid. 😅 He loves to play with other dogs and gets confidence from them so another young playful dog is a must. He also loves to play with people & soft plush toys 🧸 He does surprisingly well in the car and loves walks even though they scare him a little bit but he’s gaining confidence daily! He is very smart and has good manners, and is Crate trained and potty trained. If you are patient and looking for a best friend for life, please apply for Amos!
