Roo is an energetic pup with a striking grey and white merle coat. This handsome girl is new to WAG, and we’re just beginning to learn all about her personality. Like any puppy, Roo is full of curiosity and ready to explore the world around her. With her bright brown eyes and alert ears, she’s always taking it all in and soaking up new experiences. As we get to know Roo better, we’ll share more about her personality and what kind of home will suit her best. For now, we can say she’s one very special pup. Story
Looking for a little dog with a whole lot of heart? Meet Ian! Ian is a 1.5-year-old black and white sweetheart who proves every day that a rough start does not define your future. This pint-sized boy previously suffered a hip injury, which has healed beautifully, and his happy, playful spirit never missed a beat. Ian is fun, boisterous, and full of contagious joy. He loves attention, enjoys romping around with his toys, and is always ready for a cuddle when playtime winds down. He does well with other dogs and would make a wonderful addition to a home with canine friends. Ian also loves his food and is happily not picky. He eats from a slow-feeder bowl to help him enjoy his meals at a healthy pace and aid digestion. Medical Transparency (the important but reassuring part): Ian has Diabetes Insipidus, which is not the same as diabetes mellitus. This condition affects how his body concentrates urine and has nothing to do with blood sugar. • Oral medication only — no shots or injections • Takes medication twice daily to maintain healthy urine concentration and support full bladder emptying • Medication may be lifelong or temporary, depending on future veterinary guidance • Medication cost can vary depending on the veterinarian or pharmacy • Needs frequent potty breaks Ian does wonderfully on his routine and is otherwise a happy, active, affectionate young dog. He is looking for a loving home that will appreciate his joyful personality and continue his simple daily care so he can thrive for years to come. Are you ready to give this resilient, playful boy the forever home he deserves? Basic Info: Male, 1 yr old, Boston Terrier/Chihuahua, Coat: Black and White, neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots and preventions, preventatives. Local adoption fee (Texas) - $200 Out of state adoption (includes transport to your area) ‐ $450

Story
Holding Out for Hero: Brimsley’s Second Chance Brimsley is a striking, soulful boy with a charcoal “pirate” patch, amber-flecked eyes, a pink freckled nose, and the softest velvety ears you’ll ever feel. At three years old, he’s past the puppy stage but still full of life, quietly hoping his story is about to turn a brighter page. He was once adopted as a puppy and grew up knowing the comfort of a home, but he has found his way back through no fault of his own. His previous family cared for him, but they didn’t have the resources to provide the basic care he needed. Now, everything familiar is gone, and the busy shelter environment has left him confused and a little unsure. Even so, Brimsley hasn’t lost his gentle heart—he’s just waiting for someone to show him that he’s safe again. With a little patience and kindness, Brimsley begins to lean in, revealing a deeply loyal and loving companion who wants nothing more than to belong. He’s good with other dogs and would likely enjoy a canine friend or a calm home where he can settle in at his own pace. He is neutered and ready to start fresh with someone willing to be his steady, reassuring presence. Bringing Brimsley home means offering him the second chance he deserves—and in return, you’ll gain a devoted companion whose gratitude is felt in every quiet moment by your side. If you feel that pull to be the hero he’s been holding out for, reach out to learn more about adopting or fostering him.

Story
Meet Minnie, a 2-year-old Pug mix weighing 27 pounds with the cutest little underbite and a beautiful white chest and collar that gives her a “queenly” look. She’s as sweet as she is adorable and fully believes she’s here to love you… and collect a few treats along the way. Minnie is a happy, playful girl with a medium to high energy level. She loves playing with her foster dog siblings and enjoys toys, especially antlers and squeaky toys. She’ll chase a ball here and there, but she’d much rather engage with her people or other dogs than nap the day away. She’s very alert and will pop up quickly if she hears something new, making her both entertaining and a great little watchdog. She is house trained, though she has had a few recent accidents that may be related to medication she’s currently on while recovering from heartworm treatment. Minnie is crate trained with a little encouragement, especially if a treat is involved, and she settles in nicely once inside. When left alone, she does well resting in her crate for 4 to 8 hours. Minnie is great with tweens and teens and would do well in a home with or without kids. She gets along well with other dogs, especially those in the 30 to 60 pound range, and enjoys having playmates. Cats and other animals are unknown at this time. She’s a smart girl who already knows sit and shake and is currently working on “come here,” “lay down,” and “get in your box.” On leash, Minnie is still learning and can be a bit of a zig-zagger who pulls, but with consistency and a little patience, she’ll continue to improve. She is very food motivated, which makes training easier and fun. Car rides can make Minnie a little nervous, though she has already started improving. For longer trips, she may benefit from some calming support, but she’s making great progress and gaining confidence. Minnie’s ideal home is simply one that will love her. She’s affectionate, playful, and full of personality. When you look into her eyes, she seems to say, “I’m a cutie patootie, here to give you love and kisses,” and she truly means it. If you’re looking for a sweet, fun-loving companion who will keep you smiling and shower you with affection, Minnie may be your perfect match. You can apply directly for Minnie by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-799 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. Story
Tiny Tim was born in MAY 2025 in terrible circumsances.  His hip joint is broken, the leg bone deteriorated from the ball joint.  It could be from an old injury that was never treated.  He will need surgery, possible amputation.  He should do great on 3 legs, since we don't thing he has ever been able to put weight on the injured leg.  He has probably been in pain his entire life.  He is soo sweet and loves to snuggle in your lap.  He can get around fine and loves to play with the other pups, just not too rough.   He came into rescue Christmas week, he has seen a vet and we are waiting to get the surgeons report.  He needs a quiet place to stay during his treatment and recovery.  We would love for that to be his forever home, but a foster home would be great too.  We will pay for all his medical treatment.    Apply to adopt or foster Tiny Tim here:  https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57447/generic ##2618123##
