Lexi needs a loving home! Hello, this is Lexi. She is 10 years old, AKC registered, and needs a new home. Lexi was my sister and brother-in-law's dog. My sister passed away a year and a half ago and her husband my brother-in-law passed away 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately she is not really animal friendly so we can not keep her as we do have other animals. She does live with a little Jack Russell mix and they have been together for years but any other animals we've tried to have her around she has not been friendly with at all. She's a really sweet dog and wonderful with people she even does really well with kids. If anyone is interested please reach out to me for more information thank you.

Story
Meet Lola, a gem of a dog - super sweet, loving and loyal. She was found on the street one cold wet night, starving.  With a heart as big as her playful spirit, she loves people and wants to be with her people.  She would be good with older children as smaller more active kids may overwhelm her. She does well on a leash but will stop and check to make sure you are following her.  She is a quick to learn and eager to please you.  She does the cutest high fives!  She gets along well with other dogs, making her the perfect addition to any family or fur-friend squad. She will guard her food bowl if another dog comes by using her head to push the other dog away.  She loves head rubs and will talk to you in her own adorable way as she gets rubs.  She is house trained and gives you several signs when she wants to go outside to potty, including going to the door, or if you are sitting in a chair, she will grab you hand in her mouth or barks at you.  Lola's funny antics and loving nature will keep you smiling and laughing all day, and she will be your loyal companion through thick and thin. Come and meet this wonderful girl and give her the forever home she deserves! Lola is a special needs dog and will need an owner who is able to care for her current and future heath needs. Lola survived a bad heartworm infection that has left her with heart issues that will require continued medication and veterinary checkups. Like many French bulldogs, Lola is also susceptible to other ongoing health issues. We expect Lola will live a long and happy life with proper care.  If you are interested in her, please send an email to SCP! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review!  Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $210 (or $270 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas. Adoptions are held on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Clear Lake Petco, 2410 Bay Area Boulevard.  Since all our dogs are in foster homes, an individual dog may not be at our weekly Adoption Event due to conflict with a foster's schedule. If you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please send an email to scpdogworld@gmail.com so that the Dog Coordinator can let you know if the dog will be at the Saturday Adoption Event at Petco.
