Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Story
Adoption Donation   $ 99 Located:     New England Age: approx   13   years old Weight: 35  lbs Hospice home needed Meet Frank. We sprung this poor old man from a local shelter after he was found wandering stray, bleeding from his rectum, in a local community and no one was looking for him. We've named him Frank, and he's with our most experienced hospice foster mom because he has a tumor on his backside that is not treatable. And he's so happy to be out of the shelter in spite of his physical condition! He loves being close to his person, and is a snuggly, friendly boy. He's been to the vet and the vet concurs that Frank is a hospice dog that needs comfort and care in his retirement years. Frank deserves better than to die alone in a shelter! We're happy to be able to at least give him some love and comfort and would love to find a compassionate soul with a heart of gold to give him a loving home in his retirement years.  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  illdoit2000@aol.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. Story
Meet Dior, the beautiful and unique girl who’s ready to start fresh in a loving home. Dior walks well on a leash, keeps her crate clean, and even knows how to use a doggie door, so we’re confident she’s well on her way to being fully potty trained. While shelter paperwork listed her as around three years old, her foster thinks she may be closer to one and a half. Dior has a playful, spirited side but is easily redirected and is usually quite calm and well-mannered. With her unique looks and lovable personality, Dior is ready to bring joy to a family who’ll give her the stability and love she deserves. Dior gets along with other dogs and is interested in but not aggressive with the cats in her foster home.  Dior and her sibling were found abandoned in a motel with the most heartbreaking note from their former owner. It was found that one of the dogs had an old shelter ID and was originally named Dior, called Nina by her most recent owner. Her sibling needed medical attention and sadly is now in hospice care with her Texas foster family.  Here was the note they were found with:   Hi, I’m sorry for leaving my dogs. But I am homeless and cannot take care of them. They receive love but I cannot feed them. I cannot house them. I’m trying to be responsible. They struggle and travel with me, and they just deserve better.  I know whoever finds this may not have control over what happens to them.  But to the best of your ability, will you make sure they’re alright? Nina (Dior) is in her kennel. She really likes food. She is playful. She’s very sweet.  This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.  I think this will haunt me forever.  But I am out of money for rooms and out of options. I am sorry to the cleaning person who finds this room. I did not mean to put this on you.  But I had no idea what else to do for them. Or me.  I don’t know if you’ll read this far and I’m sure this isn’t an original concept.  But if anyone can, please help them.  Nina (Dior) is extremely smart and would be easy to train. I just don’t have the ability to do so. She’s crazy and goofy. She loves cuddles. She thinks she is twice her size and is very nosey. is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you). To adopt or learn more about: , you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, visit our website: WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM ** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort. If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM **The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.
