Story
Charlotte Good with dogs, cats, kids. Great in kennel. Cautious in beginning with men but once comfortable, very loving. She is still very much getting comfortable with surroundings and will NOT walk on leash so will need a yard while she gets trained. She needs an adopter with patience as she is easily spooked. Charlotte came to the rescue with a broken leg and was pregnant. She was likely hit by a car as her uterus had ruptured and had to be spayed immediately. She has a strong and very sweet spirit and will make someone's family complete. She LOVES kids and is good with other dogs. She has come very far with me in the short time she has been here so I know she will only gain more trust as time goes on. We have no idea what kind of situation she came from other than neglectful, so lets find her the BEST home!! Only the best need apply :) ADOPT DON'T SHOP!!! HER LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!! Local adoption fee is $500 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $800 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Nash came into our live in 2020 at only 8wks old. We found him on Craigslist. A young teen who bought him was unable to care for him and needed to rehome him. Nash is an amazing dog. He is very sweet, loving and full of energy. He loves to play fetch, take walks, play more fetch and cuddle. He loves cuddling up with us on the couch and at night in bed. He is obidient and listens well. I would love for him to go to a family who has the time, energy and most importantly love to continue caring for him as we do. We recently had a baby and while they both love each other we just don’t have the time to give him our all. He needs someone or a family who can give him all the time and attention he deserves.

Story
Bandit, came to us along with Buddy and Hershey because their owner had stage 4 lung cancer and could no longer care for them. She's super scared and sweet and you just want to help her. The man kept these dogs in crates for seven years. Everything is over stimulation for her. Overall she’s doing very well considering her entire world has been erased and there's so much around new to get used to. She is very very sweet. I believe she’s half bull dog—she has the bull dog snort. She weighs 38 lbs. She lived with other dogs in her life ---both males and females and she lived another male and a cat in her foster home. At first she wasn’t overly friendly with the dogs here but has adjusted after a slow introduction. Bandit is spayed, up to date with vaccinations, and microchipped. She is also housetrained. She is also missing one eye, which causes her no problem. If interested in Bandit contact applications@boxertransfer.org

Story
Please contact Connie Kiggins (conniek@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Handsome young man looking for his forever home! OLLY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Olly and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Nov. 17th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Falls Church (6100 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!     Name:       Olly            Best Guess for Breed:        Boston Terrier/Terrier mix    Best Guess for Age:        5 months as of 11/7/24           SEX:        male   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):     19.8 pounds as of 11/6/24   Gets Along With:        Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training.   Currently Living at:        Shelter. Olly needs a foster or forever home!!   Special Adoption Considerations:       Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Olly is Looking For:       Hiya! I am Olly! I'm just a puppy and such a good boy. : ) I'm sitting in a shelter, but I've heard I might get to travel to the Washington DC area and live in a house!! The other puppies are talking about how great it is to live in a house, it's quieter, you have your own toys, and a FAMILY!! I'd love to have a family to take walks with, go on hikes with, take car rides with, go to the dog park and a training class!! I would love to make that trip and meet my forever family, and show them how much I love them. My needs are really rather basic: food, a bed (I can certainly share yours in a pinch hahaha I'm not really kidding I can), some toys (I promise not to use your shoes instead plus you're going to be smart and put them away ; ) ), some walks (and those are good for you too) and trips to the dog park or doggie day care (also I'm sure good for you!). And in exchange, I'll be the best boy for you and love you for the rest of my life!! What do you say, don't you need a little Olly in your life???   What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this section when Olly has arrived in the DMV and spent some time with his foster!   Puppy Vetting Requirements:        Lucky Puppies have had their age appropriate vaccines, but may not yet be “fully” vaccinated. It is the adopter’s responsibility to ensure that the remaining puppy vaccines are given at the appropriate time. Please also keep in mind that, until your puppy is fully vaccinated, they are at greater risk for illness than an adult dog.       Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:       The adoption fee for this puppy is $485, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter.    If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament.   Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life! Please visit us online at        www.luckydoganimalrescue.org       . BE A FOSTER!!!       Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs!  To learn about fostering, please contact fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org! Story
Mixer-Boston Terrier/Terrier male, ~ 1 yr. (July 2024) Contact rescuebc@hotmail.com for an application. Mixer came to Rescue from a high kill big city shelter. He was on the list to lose his life to euthanasia the next day. This was happening only because the shelter is way overwhelmed with dogs needing homes. Mixer went into a rescue foster home and has proved to be an excellent dog. He's about 30#, full of intelligence and life. He plays well with the other foster dogs, loves to babysit the litter of foster puppies; they are about 10 weeks old. He loves to play fetch and he loves the water. Best of all, he loves people and wants to interact with his humans. Mixer's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption. For our application, please email rescuebc@hotmail.com . Include your location and a phone number for future communication. The first step in our process is to submit an application for review. Once approved, we will contact you to arrange a meeting at our next Meet and Greet event. Our pets are fostered in private homes and will be brought to Frederick, MD to meet approved adopters. PLEASE ALLOW 24-48 HOURS FOR A RESPONSE.

Story
Meet Eeyore Breed : French Bulldog Male : Fixed His backstory is as sad as many other dogs Eeyore was found as a stray on the streets in San Antonio ,Texas. He was neglected for way too long his poor body was tired and full of benign skin masses. After 2 surgeries he is a very happy little old man what still has so much love to give . His perfect adopter would be someone what is retired that can spend some quality time together. No small kids because he is so fragile. No other dogs or maybe one other dog depending on demeanor. Because our little Eeyore developed an obsession for toys. He collects all the toys and does not want to share with his foster siblings...even IF he has hoarded their toy!! :) Absolutely not.. he said mine mine mine . Kennel trained : He is in his kennel when I go to work. Does he like it no he will sing you the Frenchie song . Potty trained : Yes he got the hang of it also uses the doggy door . Love's : car rides in his doggie car seat , loves snacks and food , yogurt and Fresh blueberries Medication : Daily eye drops or eye cream . Eeyore deserves the BEST home! You must be able to love him and care for him for the rest of his life...he will give you his BEST SILLY BOY SELF :) Local adoption fee is $300( in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Bolo was born in New York but has lived his life in Maryland. He was born to a breeder who didn't take very good care of him. He contracted the Parvo virus and was given very little chance to survive. Bolo is a fighter and spunky and pulled through triumphantly and has never looked back. He is almost 11 years old and still has energy to play. He loves people and wants attention and companionship. He is most happy snuggled up next to someone relaxing on the couch. Once he is able to run around and get his energy out, he relaxes for most of the day. He does have specific triggers that cause him to bark and be aggressive such as items with electric motors like blenders, vacuums, lawn mowers, hair dryers, etc. He also barks at animals on television. Bolo needs a home with a patient and loving owner that doesn't mind having a cuddle buddy next to them on the couch. A fenced in backyard or access to a park for him to explore and release his energy is important.

Story
Age: 9 mos (DOB 11/10/23) Weight: 25-30 lbs Location: Wilmington, DE Nicknames: Chummo, Chummy, Chumbley-Wumbley, Little Man Good with other dogs?: Yes. Chumlee is a feisty pup and can get a little rough at times. He goes after ears, tails, etc. but does accept correction from our older dog. He has not met many other dogs yet. We are working on taking him places and socializing him. Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat Good with children? yes Activity Preference: other: due to his health concerns we limit walks to being very short. He'll let you know when he's tired. IQ: Average Chumlee's favorite things: Chumlee loves playing with another dog but can be chill on his own as long as his people are there. He loves his raw food and he loves raw marrow bones. His favorite toys are ALL OF THEM, ALL OF THE TOYS PLEASE. He plays tug with the best of them and is stronger than he looks! He needs to be with his people and is a velcro dog through and through. He likes to give kisses and gets very frustrated if you don’t let him kiss you. He will be respectful of redirection though. Chumlee is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, going for car rides, playing Ideal home: another dog, someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard, other: raw food, few/no stairs Training Needs: socialization with dogs, leash training, needs obedience training, other: basic manners, He's a puppy Health issues: Chumlee was born with Spina Bifida but it's a very mild case. He does not need diapers or any special care really. He's been checked out by an Orthopedic surgeon and a Neurologist and got two thumbs up. He is potty trained and can hold his urine but cannot "go" on his own. We assist him by expressing his bladder which is VERY easy to do. He holds still for his "squeeze". Unfortunately, he has no control over his poo but this is why he's on raw food. With a consistent raw diet, it's always well-formed and super easy to clean up. He gets around well but walks on his hocks a bit. He loves to run, jump, and play and has gotten stronger from playing with our larger dog. Because he doesn't walk normally, we do have to keep his toenails trimmed because they don't wear down like other dogs' nails. With two people it's an easy job. One holds him and the other trims his nails. Meet Chumlee Chumlee was born with a birth defect and his breeder couldn’t sell him. They took him to a vet for euthanasia. The vet wouldn't do it and reached out to rescue. There is no cure for Spina Bifida and no surgery to be performed but he is living a happy, normal, and fun-filled life now that he's in rescue. He is not a difficult dog at all. He is potty trained and just needs a "squeeze" (express his bladder) about 4-5 times a day. Then we wipe him with a baby wipe to keep him clean and fresh. He eats raw food twice a day with a little pumpkin in it. He doesn't have control over his poo habits but tends to go when he's asleep (and relaxed). As long as he's on his raw diet, it's always well-formed and easy to clean up. You just pick it up with a bag and that's that. He loves to play with other dogs and loves meeting people. He's also a super guard dog. He will bark to protect you from all the noises but isn't bothered by fireworks, thunderstorms, etc. He's very food-motivated and easy to train. He knows "sit" and "come" and is working on "stay". (Since he always wants to be with his people that's a tough one for him.) His ideal home would be with someone who wants a constant companion and will not crate him for long periods of time. He does not like the crate at all. We think he spent the first few months of his life confined to one. He has free run of the house and can be trusted not to demolish things except his own toys. He LOVES toys and playing with other dogs but does ok on his own too. He loves to lay on the floor and chew on a marrow bone or a lamb shank. Because he's short (part French bulldog), he cannot climb stairs very well. He can handle 3-4 steps but really no more than that. He will need a ramp or will need to be carried if your home has many stairs.  To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog. Visit our Adoption Policies web page for more information and a link to our application: http://americanbulldogrescue.org/adoption-policies/.November 5, 2024, 1:26 pm
