Story
Charlotte Good with dogs, & kids. NO CATS. Great in kennel. Cautious in beginning with men but once comfortable, very loving. She is still very much getting comfortable with surroundings and will NOT walk on leash so will need a yard while she gets trained. She needs an adopter with patience as she is easily spooked. Charlotte came to the rescue with a broken leg and was pregnant. She was likely hit by a car as her uterus had ruptured and had to be spayed immediately. She has a strong and very sweet spirit and will make someone's family complete. She LOVES kids and is good with other dogs. She has come very far with me in the short time she has been here so I know she will only gain more trust as time goes on. We have no idea what kind of situation she came from other than neglectful, so lets find her the BEST home!! Only the best need apply :) ADOPT DON'T SHOP!!! HER LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!! Local adoption fee is $500 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $800 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Please contact Nancy Logan (nancyl@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young boy seeking fresh start and love! NETTI NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Netti      Best Guess for Breed:  Boston terrier mix Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of January 2025          SEX:  male   Approximate Weight: Around 20 lbs; updated weight coming soon!   Gets Along With:   Netti does well with other dogs. He is currently living with his foster's cat and doing great. He hasn't been seen with kids but can be tested if you have them.    Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:   Netti was reserved and unsure when he arrived into the shelter. He has been making great strides, though! We think Netti would do best in a home that either has a resident dog or who can make sure he has lots of opportunities to go on walks regularly with other dogs or visit dog parks and/or doggie daycare with other dogs to build confidence.    Netti is Looking For:   Before we get into what Netti is looking for - LOOK at him! Have you ever seen a dog that looks like a scruffy Boston Terrier before? What a cutie.    This cutie is young, just about a year old, and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet. He's eager to burn off all that awesome young-dog energy with his new humans. Sniffy walks, romps in parks, all the adventures his humans can dream up - yes, please! And quality kibble and a cushy dog bed and treatos too. But you know what he wants most of all? To know he's safe and loved and under his own roof.    In exchange, he offers all the love and adoring gazes and tail wags he's stockpiling in his little body, and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is he the one for your home and your heart? What My Foster Says About Me: 'Netti is very sweet and has been incredibly well behaved. I likes being part of the family and loves hanging out with us in the living room, crawling into our laps seeking full body cuddles and hugs. He's been super sweet and loves giving me a couple of kisses. He loves playing with his toys and gets along great with my dogs.  He sleeps quietly in his crate.  He does great with my cat just walking up to her and sniffing her. I think he wanted to play but my cat let it be known that she did not want to play so he doesn't bother with her. He's very responsive to correction. He is an easy foster and a very good little boy.' Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story: Muttly was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. We don’t know how he ended up in there, but we are so happy to have him safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Muttly is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Muttly is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Muttly will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! The fee to adopt Muttly is $450. That covers the cost of all his vaccines, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. He’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Muttly has been seen by a shelter vet and was given a clean bill of health. If you think that Muttly might be your perfect match, apply today!January 25, 2025, 11:37 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is a courtesy posting. Please call 410-627-6563 for information   Two things matter most to Callie: balls and cuddle time. She loves playing fetch and toys in general. Even the last, tiny shred of a toy that was once flush with stuffing. When she's finished with fetch, she wants nothing more than to cuddle up on your lap and get pets. She's very appreciative of good pets and her face will go into a Zen-like happy place. Callie is sweet and spunky. Her personality lends itself to all the nicknames in the world. Callie-mazoo, Call-ico, Callie girl, and girlfriend seems to land for her too. She gets along well with two larger male dogs and enjoys playing with them. She's lived with a toddler in her previous life. She's met the cat in her foster home and seems intrigued yet cautious. She likely would do well with a dog-savvy cat. Callie is a 3 year old, healthy, Boston Terrier with a fashionable tuxedo and a brindle coat. She has many of the typical Boston traits including a wide vocabulary and prone to be chatty. Come bedtime, Callie absolutely expects to be in bed with you. When she realizes it's bedtime, she will head there then sit waiting for you. After you're in bed, she expects you to hold up the blanket so she can get under and snuggle in for the night. She finds her own spot, and is not up in your face. It's an adorable routine. If she's not allowed to sleep with you, she will sleep in another room after fussing for a bit. She's not crate trained but is working on it. She's respectful to the house if left alone. She also loves car rides and walks. Sunshine is a must. When she meets someone new she is slightly standoffish or will bark at them but very quickly warms up and will shower a new person with kisses. She's ready to find her forever family. She's pretty flexible with what would make a good home for her. Ideally, that would be a home where she's not alone for a full work day (although she can hold it). If there is another dog, they should be playful and respectful of her size. Meaning if they are bigger than her, they don't barrel over her all the time. If there is not a fenced yard (that would be ideal), her family must be committed to daily walks. She could be the only pet or could live with other dogs, cats, and kids. Callie was surrendered because her family could not take her when they moved. We are only able to adopt to Maryland residents within 30-40 miles of Baltimore, MD. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 22, 2024, 3:23 pm
