**Think this dog might be for you? The first step is to complete an application: http://www.mominpinrescue.org/p/adoption-application_30.html We do not arrange transport for our dogs. If your application is approved, you will be required to come to us to pick up your dog.** Kenji was described by the shelter as a Boston Terrier, and we agree with that, but he seems taller and lankier than a Boston with those long legs! We think he could be part Boxer or a "Boxton." He weighs about 17 pounds and is about 3 years old. When we got him, he was heartworm-positive but has been treated and has tested heartworm-negative. He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and on heartworm preventative. He is a very sweet dog, but would not do well with cats, or smaller dogs. He has not been tested with children. Kenji is located in St. Louis, and his adoption fee is $260.

Story
Charlotte Good with dogs, & kids. NO CATS. Great in kennel. Cautious in beginning with men but once comfortable, very loving. She is still very much getting comfortable with surroundings and will NOT walk on leash so will need a yard while she gets trained. She needs an adopter with patience as she is easily spooked. Charlotte came to the rescue with a broken leg and was pregnant. She was likely hit by a car as her uterus had ruptured and had to be spayed immediately. She has a strong and very sweet spirit and will make someone's family complete. She LOVES kids and is good with other dogs. She has come very far with me in the short time she has been here so I know she will only gain more trust as time goes on. We have no idea what kind of situation she came from other than neglectful, so lets find her the BEST home!! Only the best need apply :) ADOPT DON'T SHOP!!! HER LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!! Local adoption fee is $500 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $800 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Introducing EDDIE! We believe this handsome 3-year-old boy is a Boston terrier mix. He’s a great size and full grown at 35 pounds. Eddie’s a happy boy who loves to roll around in blankets and play with toys. He’s a busy boy but does enjoy snuggle time with humans. He greets everyone he meets with confidence and is happy and sweet with all humans. Eddie has that typical Boston terrier prey-drive so we’ll need to find him a forever family with no cats. He also doesn’t like to share his toys with other dogs but otherwise loves his foster family’s dogs. Eddie has no problem playing tug-a-war with his humans. In fact, it’s one of his favorite things!!January 21, 2025, 4:04 pm

Nevio Pug & Chihuahua (Chug) 3mo/ DOB 10/28/24 4lbs Microchipped/UTD vaccinations Please read the bio in its ENTIRETY. If you feel your family is a perfect match, please send an email to gateway4paws@gmail.com for additional information. Applications & FAQ regarding adoption can be found on our website. Only completed applications that meet requirements will be reviewed. Since we are 100% foster-based rescue, only approved applications will be contacted. We do not allow shipping & do not transport. You must live within 350 miles from Maryville, IL & be able to drive for a meet & greet. Nevio was surrendered to our rescue shortly after the Christmas holiday. Yup, you guessed it, he was an ill-given Christmas present. The receiving family was caught completely off-guard & was not prepared or equipped to safely take care of a tiny puppy. Fortunately, they reached out to rescue & we had a foster family ready to welcome him. Nevio hit the door with all the enthusiasm & gusto of a child on a sugar rush, lol! He is a ball of fire, ready to play at 100mph & nap with equal fervor! We like to remind applicants that a new puppy is a lot like a toddler. Nevio will need to be supervised, and the best way to do that is to have a dedicated space set up for him. This area will be a part of the home where he can see activity & observe, but it is a place that is puppy proofed. Where he can play, lounge, or nap when his family is not directly engaging. Playpens, 4-squares, or x-pens are excellent tools to make this possible. They are easily mobile if you want to move them around, too. In his foster home, adorable Nevio has been learning a schedule & going outside in a fenced yard. He doesn't need a big space; he is tiny now & will remain small as an adult. We will accept applications for families who do not have fence because he is definitely harness trainable. But we will require the home to have a dedicated secure space for Nevio outside, like an xpen. If you do have a fence, it will have to be very secure, with no spaces for a tiny puppy to slip through. NEVER EVER should a puppy be left in a yard without supervision. If you have interior stairs, please have a plan to keep your puppy off the stairs unsupervised. Additionally, please be aware of the stair railing & the distance between the spindles. We are working on potty training. It is a process that will require commitment & patience, as puppies have a little puppy bladder. Remember, in a new home, a new environment means that new habits will have to be established. Bringing home a new puppy is a huge responsibility. It requires lots of patience & time! But it is very rewarding if everyone is invested. Please apply if you meet the requirements & would like to adopt an adorable puppy. Please don’t apply without speaking to your spouse/partner first.
