This 2 year old Boston Terrier/Whippet mix can be a bit skittish at first, he warms up quick. He’s an adorable snuggle buddy and will follow you around like your shadow. He gets along with bigger dogs. He’s a fast dog with plenty of energy and already knows how to sit. He’s good in his crate at night but would rather have the freedom to roam when you’re around. He’s still learning how to walk on a leash, and a fenced-in yard is a must. He loves playing fetch, though he sometimes forgets to bring the toy back. Meet Fred(rico). Fred is a 9 year old Boston Terrier who is a breeder release. But don't be fooled by his age! This mature guy still gets the zoomies while playing with his foster sister or while playing catch with his ball. Fred's sweet face matches his sweet natured demeanor. He would do well in home with children. Fred is a gentle soul who loves to cuddle and snuggle and just be close to you. Fred's foster family said they are working on teaching Fred how to be in a family. He is currently learning how to go potty outside 100% of the time and taking walks on a leash. Both of which are challenges for Fred. Because of this, Fred will need a family who has lots of patience with him as he learns the ropes is life on the outside. He is crate trained and is very comfortable in a crate sleeping at night as well as while his foster family is away from home. Schedule a meet with Fred today!

SPECIAL NEEDS: Partially blind due to Glaucoma . This special girl is Ellie, a senior Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix, who weighs around 9-10 pounds. Ellis is around 10 years old; she is very loving and is an absolute sweetheart. Ellie lives in a foster home with a couple smaller dogs and two large dogs. Her foster mom considers Ellie to be a “low maintenance” dog. She is a homebody because she does not like going for walks or going on adventures. She enjoys the opportunity to be in the yard so she can walk around and sniff out the critters. Ellie really loves her foster mom and the young teen kids in the home so she will seek out time for some belly rubs and pets. Because Ellie is frightened of most adult men we are seeking to place her into a female household. Ellie is comfortable living with other small to medium sized dogs but isn’t into playing with them; she prefers napping and hanging out. While in foster care, Ellie was diagnosed with Glaucoma and lost sight in one of her eyes; she receives daily eye drops for the condition. The medication has worked well and the eye pressure has been in the normal range for over three months now. Ellie has been examined by licensed veterinarians, been provided vaccines, been dewormed, tested for diseases, spayed, and microchipped. Meet Audie! He was guessed to have been born in December 2023. He hasn't had the best start in life, but you would never know. This resilient soul was found on the side of the road in Texas- severely injured at only a few weeks old. Alone and in pain. It is suspected Audie was hit by a car and sustained multiple fractures to his pelvis and his femurs. Audie had a severe right femur fracture surgically repaired and a subsequent tibia fracture and he is getting around wonderfully! There is a possibility down the line that he may need a FHO surgery on his left side, but the orthopedic vet says it all depends on if he seems to be in discomfort - and so far you wouldn't know anything was every wrong with him. Potential adopters will need to understand and agree to take on that responsibility. We did a DNA test on him and he is 51% Boston Terrier, 43% Schnauzer, and 6% Poodle. He is estimated to be about 20 lbs full grown. He gets along with other dogs, cats, and kids, but due to his previous injuries he needs to be in a relatively quiet and calm household to prevent re-injury. He will need training from scratch, but he has a good handle on crate training. Audie's adoption donation of $495 helps to cover the cost of his medical care (well in excess of $2500). Charlotte Good with dogs, & kids. NO CATS. Great in kennel. Cautious in beginning with men but once comfortable, very loving. She is still very much getting comfortable with surroundings and will NOT walk on leash so will need a yard while she gets trained. She needs an adopter with patience as she is easily spooked. Charlotte came to the rescue with a broken leg and was pregnant. She was likely hit by a car as her uterus had ruptured and had to be spayed immediately. She has a strong and very sweet spirit and will make someone's family complete. She LOVES kids and is good with other dogs. She has come very far with me in the short time she has been here so I know she will only gain more trust as time goes on. We have had both Lois and Clarke (brother and sister) for about 5 years. Lois loves people and to be scratched, but she is shy at first. She likes hanging outside and checking out the neighborhood. She can be a little shy and uncertain of people at first, but once she warms to someone, she is very friendly. Lois and Clarke never really got along with each other; they occasionally fight because they are not good at sharing, though that has gotten better over the years. When we take them to be boarded, we always get positive reviews and generally it seems like she gets along OK with other dogs once she is used to them. She is good with our kids and can get pretty energetic and playful. Overall though, they would probably be happier in separate homes, though other pets might be OK after some adjustment. In general, we are looking for a new home because our new young one is allergic to dogs.
