Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Update from foster:  She really is super sweet.   Avie does best with someone who is home much of the time.  Working from home would be great, if possible.   She will need time to transition and build trust.   We have several dogs in our house and with a slow introduction, Avie did very well with them.Avie was rescued her off the street by a family who helped get her into a better living situation. Unfortunately, their other dogs and Avie did not get along well. She is a little nervous and will flinch when you try to pet her, but once she feels you are someone to trust, she warms up and will even lick you.  She is sweet dog, but at this time we are not sure if the other dogs in the home were 'defending it' from her or if Avie just does not get along well with dogs. She was fine with their cat and good with kids.  Avie is good on leash. She is playful, loves her toys, and is potty and crate trained.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 5:22 pm

Story
**HAS BEEN LIVING IN BOARDING FOR A YEAR, URGENTLY NEEDS AN ADOPTER OR FOSTER** Dakota is a very, very special girl looking for a very, very special home. This petite (she's about 30 lbs) terrier mix suffers from a metabolic condition that makes it very hard for her to gain and maintain weight. She spent several months hospitalized at our veterinarian before they found a diet and supplement plan that works for her - but she is finally steadily gaining weight and ready to transition into a home. She is young (estimated to be 1 to 2 years old) and active, vibrant and healthy. She will need a special diet and supplement plan for the remainder of her life - which means she will need a special family willing to provide for these special needs for her. Her enzyme supplements are not extremely expensive and she is otherwise a young, happy, healthy girl. Dakota LOVES kids and doesn't know a stranger. She loves to snuggle up with every single person she meets. Dakota also needs to be the only pet in the home. She has a typical terrier personality and wants to be the spoiled only fur child in her home. She is active, energetic and young and needs a home prepared to continue to work on basic manners but she is a happy, spirited energy that any family would be so lucky to have.  This girl needs her second chance at truly having a home and family of her own. We are willing to waive her adoption fee to a foster-to-adopt home and provide her first bag of food and supply of supplements and medications.  Located in Orlando, FL area.  ##2018557##

Story
We Need Great Foster Homes for our KidsWe are a large Boston Terrier Rescue serving the entire Southeastern United States.    We have many Bostons, Boston mixes, and others surrendered to us every year because of many different reasons.   Some are young, some older, some seniors, but very few are pups. Our rescue will never turn away any Boston regardless of their age, health problems or behavior issues.  We have a critical need for foster homes, both temporary and long term in all the areas we cover:  TN, GA, KY, SC, NC, VA, MD and FL     If you believe you might be interested in fostering one of our kids, please complete the Foster/Adopt application on our website at www.bostonterriertn.org   Note:  there is no application fee for foster families          Please use the foster momma or dad's contact information above for questions. The process always begins with an application which can be found at The Boston Terrier Rescue of East Tennessee website Note that in most cases, we do not adopt to families with small children, e.g., 'under 6,' as a precaution to the child's safety and the dog's safety. In some cases with larger Boston mixes or other dogs, we do make exceptions. Please ask the foster momma. We prefer to place dogs within driving distance of where they are being fostered. If someone from outside the local area is approved for adoption, they must be willing to personally drive/fly to get the dog.  The East Coast division (NC/SC/VA/MD/DC) does have special transport capabilties for their kids.   Ask them. Also, submission of an application and fee does not guarantee adoption of any specific Boston since that particular dog may have applications pending or may not be the right match for you.October 1, 2022, 10:21 pm

Story
Edward “Eddie” Elmer is an older Boston Terrier, but does not exactly act his age. He loves a good game of tug of war with stuffed animals and can be a goof ball at times. Eddie is an independent lover boy. He loves to be outside but also enjoys a good scratch on the back. He likes to be in charge at times and needs someone that will continue calm, consistent leadership and make sure he knows he is not the boss. Eddie does not require a lot of attention and he’s typically content laying on the floor beside you.  The Basics Age: Approximately 11 yrs old Weight: Approximately 30 lbs Spayed/Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes On Heartworm Prevention: Yes On Flea/Tick Prevention: Yes House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes, but will make noise at the beginning stating he does not like to be in it.
