Story
Female, 2 years old, 48 lbs. Lisa is new to the rescue. We will add more information as we get to know the dog better. If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a DOG: http://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-dogs.html Interested in saving more lives? Foster a dog today! Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Please contact Nancy Logan (nancyl@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young boy seeking fresh start and love! NETTI NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Netti      Best Guess for Breed:  Boston terrier mix Best Guess for Age:  1 year as of January 2025          SEX:  male   Approximate Weight: Around 20 lbs; updated weight coming soon!   Gets Along With:   Netti does well with other dogs. He is currently living with his foster's cat and doing great. He hasn't been seen with kids but can be tested if you have them.    Currently Living at: DC area foster home   Special adoption considerations:   Netti was reserved and unsure when he arrived into the shelter. He has been making great strides, though! We think Netti would do best in a home that either has a resident dog or who can make sure he has lots of opportunities to go on walks regularly with other dogs or visit dog parks and/or doggie daycare with other dogs to build confidence.    Netti is Looking For:   Before we get into what Netti is looking for - LOOK at him! Have you ever seen a dog that looks like a scruffy Boston Terrier before? What a cutie.    This cutie is young, just about a year old, and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet. He's eager to burn off all that awesome young-dog energy with his new humans. Sniffy walks, romps in parks, all the adventures his humans can dream up - yes, please! And quality kibble and a cushy dog bed and treatos too. But you know what he wants most of all? To know he's safe and loved and under his own roof.    In exchange, he offers all the love and adoring gazes and tail wags he's stockpiling in his little body, and loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Is he the one for your home and your heart? What My Foster Says About Me: 'Netti is very sweet and has been incredibly well behaved. I likes being part of the family and loves hanging out with us in the living room, crawling into our laps seeking full body cuddles and hugs. He's been super sweet and loves giving me a couple of kisses. He loves playing with his toys and gets along great with my dogs.  He sleeps quietly in his crate.  He does great with my cat just walking up to her and sniffing her. I think he wanted to play but my cat let it be known that she did not want to play so he doesn't bother with her. He's very responsive to correction. He is an easy foster and a very good little boy.' Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online   at   bit.ly/adoptaluckydog  .   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. That said, we cannot make any guarantees about age, breed or temperament. Thank you for contacting Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and helping to save a life!  Please visit us online at      www.luckydoganimalrescue.org   .    BE A FOSTER!!!     Fosters make it possible for Lucky Dog Animal Rescue to save and care for homeless and abandoned dogs! To learn about fostering, please contact fostering@luckydoganimalrescue.org! BE A SPONSOR!!!!     Sponsors help Lucky Dog support the many dogs we save. To learn more about sponsorship, please contact     info@luckydoganimalrescue.org   ! January 27, 2025, 11:45 am

Story
Bella was purchased as a puppy near Seattle, WA. She’s now 10 years old and due to personal circumstances, I need to move into a high-rise condo. She is a super loving dog and has gone to dog daycare all her life. She is not the best on a leash around other dogs though. She’d probably be best in a home without other dogs (or with small dogs). No health issues although sometimes her back knee bothers her (a little arthritis). I’m so sad to have to give her up, but know that this is best for her. Happy to answer any and all questions.

Story
Name: Muttly Sex: Male Estimated Age: 1-3 years old Best Guess for Breed: Boston Terrier Mix Weight: About 30 lbs Lives With: Dogs and people! Housebroken? Muttly is potty trained and crate trained. Story: Muttly was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. We don’t know how he ended up in there, but we are so happy to have him safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Muttly is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. He knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with his humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Muttly is just looking for someone to be his new best furend and we know that he will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Muttly will need an adopter who is committed to setting him up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising him both mentally and physically. He will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! The fee to adopt Muttly is $450. That covers the cost of all his vaccines, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. He’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Muttly has been seen by a shelter vet and was given a clean bill of health. If you think that Muttly might be your perfect match, apply today!January 25, 2025, 11:37 am
