We fostered Dicky and his Sister Ivy when my Aunt passed from C19. Both dogs are up to adopt as we can not house them. Both are AKC with papers and in perfect health. They understand a lot of words and commands as well as potty and door trained. Ivy can dance and literally smile Dicky can speak English and Italian so he thinks. They both have great temperaments and love camping, walking, and sports, we have taken both to about 8 LA Kings games on the Jumbotron. We relay need help finding them a new home and they would make excellent walking buddies. PLEASE IF YOUR GOING TO COMIT AND SET AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET SHOW UP. IF YOU CAN NOT MAKE IT ITS OK.

Story
Hi I'm Artichoke. I'm a 3-4 year old 16 lb Boston terrier. I am house broken and crate trained, spayed, current on vaccines and microchipped. I am adorable but I definitely need leadership bc if I don't have that I will be a bossy Boston! I am leash reactive so I need you to let me know you are the boss. if not I will act like a brat. I am ok with dogs once I have had a proper introduction. wanna be best friends? *please note All of our dogs are in private foster homes. Once you fill out an application it will be screened by our volunteer adoption team. From there, if your application looks like a good fit for the particular dog, it will be sent to the foster where you can ask all the questions you would like and schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs. If you apply from out of state we do request you come to Los Angeles to meet us and fly home in cabin or drive. www.apurposefulrescue.org

Story
Meet Miss Chiquita Banana! Chiquita is an outgoing and loving dog. She loves everybody and everything around her. She loves to go on daily walks around the neighborhood and is great walking on leash. She also travels very well in the car. Chiquita has a great little personality and really just wants to sit with someone all day. Chiquita rarely barks but she does make some weird alien like noises at times. LOL Chiquita is being fostered with another small dog and they get along fine but we think she would prefer to be the only royalty in the family. Chiquita has been around cats, so maybe a cat peasant would be fine! Her favorite toy is the mini tennis ball, she loves to just carry it around with her. She loves to take long naps on the couch during the day. And sunbathing is part of her daily routine! Unfortunately, she had a really rough life before we rescued her. When we rescued her, she was so skinny, her coat was horrible, she had the worst case of Giardia (intestinal parasite), an injury to her left eye, a heart murmur and a partial intestinal blockage that by some miracle she was able to pass. Chiquita had a echocardiogram done on her heart and it revealed she has a couple of valves that are causing her murmur. It is not too bad right now, but at some point later in her life she may require medication, but for now she is doing fine heart wise! In regards to her eye, she had old corneal scarring and a corneal ulcer, all very painful for her. She had eye drops and ointment everyday in her left eye to help with the pain and pressure. The eye pressure was on the higher side of normal, but her eye was bulging and very red. She had very little to no vision in this eye too. So, we made the hard decision to have her eye removed so she can be pain free. Since getting the eye removed and she has healed from surgery, she is no longer in pain and as a result, has turned into a whole new dog. You can really see her whole personality shine through now! She is happy and playful!Chiquita is possibly the sweetest dog with the crappiest past we have come across in a long time. She loves people and delights in any amount of attention she receives. We are pretty sure she was just a puppy making machine. And when she couldn't do it anymore they threw her out like last night's garbage. Chiquita is a red Boston terrier and weighs about 17 pounds. She is full grown and we think she is about 6-7 years old. Chiquita is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, has gained a few pounds, all of her medical is cleared up and she is ready to go into her forever home. Our adoptions are restricted to residents within 30 miles of the South Bay area of Los Angeles. We do not ship animals or do long distance adoptions. See our adoption policies for more details on our adoption process. Story
Luzi is such a sweet girl. She's a ball of energy, loves to play and run. Good with other dogs and kids. She does have a cherry eye, which is common in Frenchies. It requires drops and proper cleaning. Be ready to adopt. Adoptions can happen quickly so be prepared for our call, only apply for dogs that every family member in the home wants, and wait to apply until you return from your vacation. Please fill out our online application and our adoption counselor will reach out to you to discuss meeting your new family member. The one-of-a-kind French Bulldog, with his large bat ears and even disposition, is one of the world's most popular small-dog breeds, especially among city dwellers. The Frenchie is playful, alert, adaptable, and completely irresistible. The French Bulldog resembles a Bulldog in miniature, except for the large, erect 'bat ears' that are the breed's trademark feature. The head is large and square, with heavy wrinkles rolled above the extremely short nose. The body beneath the smooth, brilliant coat is compact and muscular. The bright, affectionate Frenchie is a charmer. Dogs of few words, Frenchies don't bark much, but their alertness makes them excellent watchdogs. They happily adapt to life with singles, couples, or families, and do not require a lot of outdoor exercise. They get on well with other animals and enjoy making new friends of the human variety. It is no wonder that city folk from Paris to Peoria swear by this vastly amusing and companionable breed.
