Story
6/18/24 - Who doesn't love a wiggle butt. He is super friendly. He loves all the dogs and children. His owners didn't find it fair to keep him in the yard. Life changed and they didn't have time to care for him. He was always home alone. He loves to go on walks. Love to cuddle and he is now crate training. If you are looking for a Boston you are in the right place please send us a direct email and request an application

Story
Hi I'm Artichoke. I'm a 3-4 year old 20 lb Boston terrier. I am house broken and crate trained, spayed, current on vaccines and microchipped. I am adorable but I definitely need leadership bc if I don't have that I will be a bossy Boston! I am leash reactive so I need you to let me know you are the boss. if not I will act like a brat. I am ok with dogs once I have had a proper introduction. wanna be best friends? *please note All of our dogs are in private foster homes. Once you fill out an application it will be screened by our volunteer adoption team. From there, if your application looks like a good fit for the particular dog, it will be sent to the foster where you can ask all the questions you would like and schedule a meet and greet. We do not transport our dogs. If you apply from out of state we do request you come to Los Angeles to meet us and fly home in cabin or drive. www.apurposefulrescue.org

Story
Get out of the way and make room for Graham.  The most entertaining, 10-pound, vintage American Gentleman you might have the opportunity to meet.  A few weeks ago, social media was all a buzz.  Everyone was advocating to save the senior Boston Terrier that was at the Downey Shelter.  Our Rescue Director rushed to LA to pull the frail old guy and get him vetted and into a foster home.  Well… to all of our amazement – the skinny, 12-year-old BT, the shelter named Graham is full of life, curiosity and agility.  While it is obvious, he needs to gain a few pounds, this guy eats like a champ and has more energy than dogs half his age.  Constantly on the go and hard at work making sure things are as they should be.  Graham is the self-appointed “Supervisor” of everything his foster mom does.  If she opens a closet door, he is going in to make sure everything is organized to his liking.  If you open a cabinet, he is going to scale the shelves to make sure they are up to code.  Do you need help with household chore?   This guy is right there checking out the dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.  He believes in efficiency and getting things done.  His Foster Dad is trying to teach this old dog new tricks.  Graham will use the doggie door to go outside but sometimes he will come back inside and potty.  Very much a work in progress.  Leash walking seems totally foreign to him.  He will just “refuse” to walk.  Not really a big deal because he is so small, there is no problem just carrying him around.  In fact, he would love if you just carried him around all day long.  He LOVES people and is great with other dogs.  He lives with several other dogs and gets along with all of them.  When in the car he prefers to ride in your lap.  Many times, when we bring senior dogs into rescue they just stay with their initial foster because we know their time is limited.  That truly is not the case with Graham.  He is ready to take on the world.  Graham is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and fecal and heartworm tested (both negative). We have been putting a nonprescription eye lube into his eyes a couple times a day just to keep him comfortable.  His vision might not be 100% but he sees well enough to navigate wherever he might want to go.  If you are looking for a dog to keep you laughing and put a smile on the faces of everyone the 2 of you come into contact with – then Graham is the guy for you.  Jump on over to our website: www.bostonbuddies.org and complete an adoption application. Story
Unfortunate events brought this strong bonded pug family to us. Fani the mom is the glue that holds them together. She is sweet as pie and will always give you love when you are in need. Gumbo the father is the brawn and protector of the family, he will never let them down. Don’t let his older age fool you, he can keep up with the youngest in the pen! Pierogi the son, can be a little rambunctious and prefers to be the center of attention. He’s got an undeniable wild side, but he’s a mommas boy at heart. He loves to clean his moms ears and snuggle up close to her when it’s time to nap. And last of all we have Jilly Puff, the darling daughter and lover of dresses. Jilly Puff is everyone’s best friend and has amazing fun energy. She will be the first to grab a toy and say “let’s play”. This family lost their previous owner a little while back and were brought to us in hopes of finding them a new forever home. We like to observe bonded dogs that come in before really considering them bonded, and it did not take long to realize that this family needed to stay together, no matter what. They have all been examined by our vet with only minor ailments to address. As well as getting them on the right diet since they were quite overweight upon their arrival. We hope there is someone out there with a home and heart big enough to give this family the security and love they need.

Story
Meet the heartwarming story of little Poppy, a brave soul who triumphed against all odds. Abandoned at a dog park, her fate took a fortunate turn when a kind-hearted Samaritan brought her to a local city shelter. However, the shelter's limited resources left her facing a grim future of euthanasia. Luckily, fate intervened once again when a former employee of ours, now working at the shelter's animal hospital, stepped in and reached out to us. And so, Poppy's new life journey began.Poppy faces challenges with IVDD, which had left her hind limbs paralyzed and unable to manage her potty needs independently. Despite her rocky journey, spending just a few minutes with her belies the hardships she has endured. Her undying zest for life, resilient spirit, and radiant personality make it impossible not to fall in love with her instantly. When she arrived at our rescue, she couldn't use her hind legs at all. However, with dedication and care from her doctor, along with a daily stretching regimen, she has made incredible progress and now stands tall, walks, and even runs on all four legs! Though she may still be a bit wobbly, her potential shines at three years old, and she's eager to impress her human friends with her speed and versatility.Poppy required assistance in expressing her bladder multiple times a day when she first arrived to our rescue, but she has greatly improved in her ability to eliminate on her own and no longer needs to be expressed. She should still be checked regularly by her veterinarian to ensure she is fully eliminating by herself, but for now she is and she is doing great. Poppy is a healthy and happy girl who simply wants to share her boundless joy with the world. Her loving and trusting personality is beyond compare, making her a truly unique and remarkable little creature. We envision Poppy's ideal forever home to be with an experienced and caring owner who can dedicate time to meet her special requirements. As she prefers to be the center of attention, a home without other dogs would suit her best. We are determined to give this incredible girl the life she deserves, filled with possibilities, and most importantly, an abundance of love.If you're intrigued by this extraordinary girl and want to learn more, please apply today! Together, we can make sure Poppy's journey continues with the warmth and care she deserves.
