Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Roady, or Ro as he is called, is a 4 year old, 25 pound cute and cuddly "brindle bundle o' love." He is much more athletic than he may appear! This boy can run and jump with the best of dogs, so if you are interested in agility training, he may be a good candidate for training! Ro has been working hard with his foster family to gain more acceptable social and leash skills and has made great strides since coming into rescue. He is much less reactive to other dogs and able to go to breakfast on a dog patio. Slow and careful introductions are necessary. We think he might really prefer to be the only "four-legged" in his family, because he has enjoyed not having to compete for attention (his foster family does not have other dogs). If you have lots of time to spend and lots of love to give, Ro may be the cuddlebug companion for you. If you're interested, please go to our website and fill out an adoption application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 14, 2026, 11:47 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Lucas and Louie, a bonded pair of 5-year-old boys who must be adopted together. These two bodacious brothers are looking for their forever home, where they can get endless belly rubs and lots of playtime. Lucas is a total sweetheart, intelligent, and loves with reckless abandon. He's athletic, zooming around and jumping over obstacles, including his brother, Louie  He's a ball fanatic and will do almost anything for a good game of catch. Lucas is a quick learner; he really wants to please. He is crate trained. While he walks well on a leash, he is working on proper manners towards other people and dogs that he meets on his walks. He has visited dog parks and does well there, engaging with dogs and people alike. Louie is a food enthusiast and is more interested in treats, but he's learning that doing what's asked comes first before treats. He enjoys stuffed animals and chewing on things, including Lucas. Louie steals Lucas's ball, because he likes a good game of chase. Along with a good chase, Louie loves a good time with a squirting hose. Like Lucas, he walks well on a leash but also needs correction when meeting people and other dogs; and like Lucas, he enjoys the dog park. Two can be better than one, because Lucas and Louie entertain each other, giving their humans time to do other things and enjoy some time to themselves. These dogs are terrific! Let us know if they are meant for you!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 14, 2026, 11:47 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Champ — A two year old Energetic adventure Buddy. Champ found himself at the Sierra Vista Animal Shelter, and although he was microchipped, his previous owners never responded to multiple attempts to reclaim him. AZBTR stepped in to give this handsome guy a fresh start, and he’s ready to find a home that matches his zest for life. ⚡ His Personality • High‑energy, playful, and enthusiastic about everything •  He likes people and likes to cuddle with them • Eager to bond with his people and be part of the action   What He Needs Champ is a smart boy who will thrive with structure, guidance, and consistent training. He’s the type who benefits from clear boundaries so he doesn’t take charge of the household. With the right leadership, he’ll blossom into a well‑mannered, loyal companion. However, he doesn't get along with most dogs. A meet and greet would have to happen to see if Champ would get along with your dog. He also needs an alpha human that doesn't put up with his naughtiness. Some of his other issues  are the following:   -pulls on the leash and lunges and barks at dogs going by -even though he likes people he also has been known to nip and bark at them -he resource guards his person, which means if you are a couple, he may bark at the person that he not as fond of.   His Ideal Home Champ will do best in an active home—one that enjoys walks, playtime, and keeping both his mind and body busy. He’s looking for adopters who won’t let him “run the show,” but will instead help him channel his energy in positive ways.   Are you that special alpha person(s) that Champ needs? We would enjoy hearing from you.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 14, 2026, 11:47 pm

Story
✨ Tiny Boy. Big Heart. Meet Tomasso. ✨ Male | 3–6 years | Fawn If you’ve ever wanted a little best friend who acts like you are the greatest thing to ever happen to him… allow us to introduce Tomasso. He doesn’t just sit next to you — he commits. Couch time? Attached. Bedtime? Already claimed his spot. Walk to the kitchen? Your loyal assistant has clocked in. 💛 Professional Snuggler Status: ELITE. Toys? He’s not impressed. Zoomies? Not currently on the calendar. Being near you? Full-time job. 🏡 House Manners? Yes Please. Tomasso is housetrained, crate trained, calm in the car, and totally fine when left alone. No dramatic performances when you grab your keys. He just waits for his person to come back. He’s currently dining on Hill’s Science Diet Adult like the distinguished gentleman he is. Grass is still something he’s warming up to (the patio is his comfort zone), but he’s making steady, brave progress. 🐶 Let’s Talk Food (Real Talk, No Drama). Tomasso likes clear boundaries around meals and treats. He can get protective of food around both humans and other dogs if things feel busy or chaotic. The solution? Simple — feed him separately and give him his own calm space at treat time. Because of that, he’d do best in an adult home or one without little kids in full snack tornado mode. Mealtime structure = happy Tomasso. 💫 His Personality Gentle. Shy but deeply loving. Snuggly. Resilient. He may have had a rough start, so loud noises can still make him a little unsure. But when he trusts you? It’s intentional. It’s deep. It’s loyal-for-life energy. Tomasso isn’t the loud, center-of-the-party dog. He’s the quiet, bonds-with-his-person dog. If your home is calm, loving, and heavy on cozy evenings… Tomasso is ready to make it complete. 💛🐾

Story
Meet Frankie 🖤🐾 Frankie is still waiting… and honestly? We’re a little shocked. This one-eyed heartthrob is a certified ladies’ man with rugged good looks (that leg scar? very “mysterious backstory”), a resilient spirit, and a personality that sneaks up on you in the best way. Frankie didn’t have an easy start, and because of that he takes a minute to trust — especially with new people. But once you’re in? You’re in. His tail starts wagging. He leans in for pets. He gets goofy and silly and lets his guard down in the sweetest way. He loves his crate (his safe space), appreciates routine, and thrives when he knows what to expect. Frankie is more of an independent guy around other dogs — he’s not looking to join a frat party, he’s looking for his person. And yes… we need to talk about his athletic ability. Frankie can clear a 3.5-foot fence like he’s training for the Olympics, so a secure yard (6 ft+) or supervised outdoor time is a must. This boy has hops. What Frankie really needs is a calm, patient home — ideally with a confident, dog-savvy woman who understands that trust is built, not rushed. He bonds deeply. He loves hard. And when he chooses you, it’s something special. No applications yet, and we truly don’t get it. Frankie is goofy, loyal, resilient, and ready for his soft landing. If you’ve got patience, a secure yard, and a heart big enough for a one-eyed gentleman with main character energy… Frankie is your guy. 🖤

Story
Thor 4 Years Old | Neutered | Vaccinated | Ready for His Forever Home Thor is a sensitive, gentle soul who is still learning that the world is safe. He is currently settling into foster care and will need time to fully decompress and build trust in his forever home. Thor can be skittish and does not enjoy being picked up or put into a harness. Slow introductions, calm handling, and patience are essential for him. ✨ Thor’s Highlights: • Neutered & vaccinated • Crate trained • Friendly with other dogs • No resource guarding • Moderate anxiety — needs time to settle Thor is partially potty trained and benefits from a predictable routine. He does best with a patient adopter who understands that trust is earned gradually. He may struggle initially, but once he feels secure, his gentle nature begins to show. Thor isn’t a “plug and play” dog — he’s a heart dog in the making. The right home will give him space to unravel, adjust, and become the companion he’s meant to be.
