Story
Located in San Antonio Texas Meet Gerti the Border Terrier! She is our newest addition. She was found running the streets with her Dogo Argentino pal. The family that found them spent weeks trying to find their owners with no success. Gerti was not spayed and did not have a microchip. The good new is, she is now spayed, microchipped, and has had all her vaccines! The bad news is, she is heartworm positive. All though we are all very bummed about this she has a fabulous veterinarian that is taking care of her! She has started Gerti on her heartworm treatment protocol and says there is no reason why she can’t find a new home while she is undergoing treatment! Now we just need to find her that perfect place to call home! If you are interested in Gerti let us know.

Story
Howdy! My name is Loretta, although I have the same name as a country music singer, I’m really a quiet girl. I am a two year old, 18lb terrier mix with an easy going personality, adorable scruffy fur, and a dense physique, which makes my foster mom giggle when I attempt to jump onto the couch. I’m about to be an empty nester so I’m ready to enjoy the simple pleasures in life, like a good chew bone, a soft place to nap, and a human to call my own. I get along wonderfully with other dogs and love making new friends. I live with four other dogs right now, and we spend our days zooming around chasing each other. I’m curious about the two cats, but they won’t let me touch them. I enjoy all sized humans, but please stay away from my food and treats while I’m enjoying them. I have great potty manners, so foster mom lets me sleep on the bed with them. (Although, I admit, I do like a tasty shoe, so just keep them away from me 🤭) If you are looking for a companion who would love a good belly rub and some snuggles, then I am your girl! 👉 Please share this post to help Loretta find her forever home 👉 Apply to adopt through Charming Pet Rescue Your share could be the one that finally brings her home. 💛🐶

Story
Benny was found running the streets in a stray dog pack in the Rio Grande Valley. When he first came here, he was fearful around men and could be a bully to new dogs, but he's come a long way since then. Once he gets to know you, he's a sweet, funny, playful dog who wants to be with you as much as possible. Benny was initially cat-aggressive, but he's been around cats for several months and has grown used to them. He mostly ignores them but sometimes chases them. He can be around cats, but should not be left alone with them. (I kennel him when we leave.) Benny gets along well with most female dogs, but he can be dominant towards male dogs. He shows some resource guarding of both food and people and seems to want to "defend" his people from other dogs. That doesn't mean he can't get along with other dogs or other male dogs, but he needs to be introduced to other dogs carefully. The same can be true for introducing him to new people---he needs some time to build trust. Someone who is willing to take time and socialize Benny with other people and animals would be a great adopter. Benny is a great dog who really wants to please. He is loving, affectionate, and playful.
