You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Somehow, while I wasn't looking, I've gotten to be a senior dog. But know that I have been adored all my life and have learned very well how to give that love back. I was a companion to an older lady who is no longer here for me and would be a perfect match for a similar person. I've got this down! Cuddle, snuggle, sleep next to my person in bed, enjoy lots of pets. I give my whole self to be loved and think of you as the light of my whole world. I will always be there for you, close by and ready to feel your touch. I am well house trained, too. Humans seem to like that part a lot! In case you don't believe me, here is what my foster has to say about me: Penny is just about the perfect little senior dog. She loves adults, children, dogs, and cats. She is house trained. She loves to snuggle during the evening and she must be allowed to sleep in bed with her family. She does fine in the car, a little nervous for a few minutes and then just gazes out the window. She does well on a leash but does love to gaze at the sky in her fosters fenced yard and sun herself. She would love to have another calm dog to snuggle with too! She loved her spa day and came home to foster prancing around like a new girl!! The only requirements for Penny is she was evidently used to having her food homemade. She must get a family that will love her and make her homemade food. Penny has been vetted, gotten all her shots, and is ready to find her new home.  Penny's ideal home would be with a retired person(s) that can spend most of their time with her. She would love to have another doggy companion too but not absolutely needed if her humans are home with her most of the time.    If you are interested in Penny, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 11, 2024, 8:43 am

Story
Meet Molly Molly and siblings come to us from North Carolina-was being given up and on their way to a pound when rescued. They are all incredibly friendly with everyone they meet and seem to learn simple commands very quickly. Almost 3 months old, expected to be about 25 pounds when grown and will make wonderful family pets. PLEASE NOTE- AN APPLICATION FROM THE WEBSITE ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG IS REQUIRED prior to any meet and greet. Calling, emailing and using the “contact us” link is not useful and will delay your consideration in the adoption of the dog. Petfinder inquires are not sent to us. The adoption fee is $425, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including age appropriate vaccinations, worming, flea/tick preventative and spay/neuter. Puppies under 6 months of age may go to adoptive homes before they are spayed/neutered with a spay/neuter contract. Adopters who choose to adopt a puppy that has not yet been spayed/neutered are subject to an additional deposit of $100 (refundable upon proof of spay/neuter prior to the contracted date.) Included in the adoption fee, the rescue will arrange spay/neuter by a partner vet at a predetermined appointment when the puppy is between 7-9 months of age. It is the responsibility of the adopter to bring the adopted puppy back to the rescue vet for spaying/neutering or, if they choose, to send verification from their own vet (at the adopter's own cost) that the puppy had been spayed/neutered. All of our dogs will be microchipped. APPLY AT ALMOSTHOMEDOGS.ORG (click on the word "Adopt" at top of page to find the dropdown menu with application) Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org, then click on "Adopt" tab at top We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check, cash or venmo is preferred payment
