You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Jake is a medium sized dog with a big personality who is looking for the perfect home for himself.  He is already house broken. He doesn't like the crate but will go in and settle down after a few minutes.  He is fine to be left alone in the house and doesn't chew anything or get into things.  Jake has some separation anxiety so would prefer a home where someone is there most of the time, or another dog his size to keep him company. Jake currently lives with 3 small female dogs (10-15lb). Slow introductions are needed with strangers, but especially men.  He is possessive of his chew bones, but we are working on that. Jake completed a 2 month training program and his adopter will need to continue working with him. Jake would do best in a quiet home with just one female or couple and no young children.  Jake already knows 'sit' and 'down' and is treat motivated so will learn quickly what you ask him to do. He loves to sleep in the human bed and will lay on the floor at your feet by the couch or on the couch,  and hang out while you're in the kitchen or other room. He may have an old injury to his hind end so care should be taken there.  Jake loves to go on walks and can do 2 miles easily. He is great motivation to get you out to walk! Careful introductions to passer-bys neeeded.  Jake loves to hang out in the backyard with his person, just chilling and sunning himself. A fenced yard would be best.  Jake has all his shots and has been checked over by our vet. He is good to go! But know that I have been adored all my life and have learned very well how to give that love back. I was a companion to an older lady who is no longer here for me and would be a perfect match for a similar person. I've got this down! Cuddle, snuggle, sleep next to my person in bed, enjoy lots of pets. I give my whole self to be loved and think of you as the light of my whole world. I will always be there for you, close by and ready to feel your touch. I am well house trained, too. Humans seem to like that part a lot! In case you don't believe me, here is what my foster has to say about me: Penny is just about the perfect little senior dog. She loves adults, children, dogs, and cats. She is house trained. She loves to snuggle during the evening and she must be allowed to sleep in bed with her family. She does well on a leash but does love to gaze at the sky in her fosters fenced yard and sun herself. She would love to have another calm dog to snuggle with too!She loved her spa day and came home to foster prancing around like a new girl!!The only requirements for Penny is she was evidently used to having her food homemade. She must get a family that will love her and make her homemade food.Penny has been vetted, gotten all her shots, and is ready to find her new home.  If you are interested in Penny, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 5, 2024, 5:13 pm
