Meet Bessie! **Age:** 3years old **Breed:**Border Terrier Mix  **Weight:**19lbs  **Location:**Foster home Lake Orion 48362 Bessie is a beautiful and affectionate dog who was found along with her sister in Detroit. While she was not reclaimed, she is now ready to find her forever home!  **Personality:**  Bessie is sweet and loves attention but can be a little shy when meeting new people. With a little patience and love, she'll warm up and show her true playful self. She gets along well with other dogs and seems indifferent to cats, making her a great addition to a multi-pet household.  **Training:**  - **Crate Trained:** Bessie is comfortable in her crate, providing a safe space for her when needed.  - **House Trained:** She knows the basics and is doing well with her potty training.  - **Leash Manners:** She’s currently working on her leash manners, and with some consistent training, she’ll be strutting alongside you in no time! She won't do well on a tether system. **Ideal Home:**  Bessie would do best in a home with older children who can approach her gently and understand her shy nature. She will require regular grooming to keep her coat looking fabulous! If you're looking for a sweet pup to become part of your family and help her gain confidence, Bessie may be the perfect match for you!  Bessie is:Current on Rabies and DistemperDewormedHeartworm Tested: NegativeReceiving Heartworm and Flea PreventionMicrochippedShe is scheduled to be spayed at one of our partner vet on Nov.5thADOPTION FEE: $375 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN THIS PET, PLEASE COMPLETE THE APPROPRIATE APPLICATION FOUND ON OUR WEBSITE HTTP://FUREVERTAILS.COM. Unfortunately, at this time we are not currently adopting outside of the state of MI. Story
Hi there! My name is Brody, and I'm a 3 year old, 23 pound incredibly affectionate and connecting young guy. While I may seem a bit timid at first, I just need a little time to trust. I have the biggest heart and love to be close to you. I love nothing more than a cozy night in, preferably with a nice, warm lap to sit on. Loud noises and fast movements tend to scare me, I am a little underconfident, so hopefully my new family can build my confidence. I would do best in a quieter, more predicable type home where any children are at least 13 years with my shy nature. I have a friendly approach with other dogs, so if you have another nice doggy sibling, I would love to meet them. I can't wait to find a home where I can give all my love and affection to my new family. Are you the one I've been waiting for? If you are interested in Brody and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG:https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=44, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.
