Story
These puppies were born in Rescue approximately 5 months ago.  Willow was the runt of the litter and the last one born but that hasn’t stopped her! Whatever the others give her, she gives it back twice over. She weighs just over 9#. She is great playing with cats, kittens and other dogs. She has never been around kids but respectful kids 10+ should be fine.  Willow is spayed, chipped, and utd on her puppy vaccs. She is doing well with potty training but will definitely need continued positive support as she’s just a baby still.  Mom is a border terrier mix and Willow appears to have some Pug or Puggle with  a smooth coat and long legs that give her great speed to keep up with everyone else.   None of the puppies have conquered stairs yet; they are curious but no one is curious enough to be the first to go up or down.  They do enjoy a fenced yard but an apartment with an active family would work for them.  If you’re interested in meeting Aspen, the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at  https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms  We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Willow’s adoption fee is $425 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.  January 20, 2025, 11:11 am

Story
We brought Rio home from Cancun Mexico on an angel flight in order to get him adopted in the US. He is a wonderful family dog and would do well with another dog. We currently have 4 that he with now. He is an active puppy so he needs to go to a home where he will get walked regularly. He is incredibly smart and is pretty much fully housebroken. He has a crate he goes in when we leave and at night but he is also fine sleeping on our bed. He needs to go to a home with a fully secured fenced in yard. Absolutely no apartments. We will need to verify this with a home visit. Adoption fees will be donated to shelter animals.

Story
Potty trained, lovable, couch potato Pooke is ready for the sweet life! Pooke has already faced too many challenges in her short 2 years. This 27-pound scruffy Border Terrier / Schnauzer mix was found wandering the tough streets of Houston, bravely fending for herself after being neglected by her previous owner. It was found out that Pooke was left out in the yard of her "home" 24/7 and learned how to jump the fence to escape that life... and it worked! She was picked up and brought into a shelter and her owners never went to pick her up. Now Pooke has arrived to Colorado, and is in a loving foster home while she awaits her new forever home. From Pooke's foster: * * * * "Hi! I’m fostering Pooke, and I can’t wait to share how wonderful she is. First of all, it's hard to show in photos, but she is really so small!!! Pooke is an affectionate, calm little couch potato who absolutely loves napping next to her dog buddies (she snuggles with my dog all the time!) She’s such a low-maintenance companion indoors because she’s happiest lounging and relaxing. She gets along with other dogs very well. Pooke is potty trained—she only had one little accident—and she eats in her crate twice a day, with a mix of wet and dry food, plus a few treats in between. She’s okay being in her crate for meals and has even started improving when we reward her with treats for short crate times. However, she’s still working on feeling comfortable being in the crate for longer periods, so her ideal home would be with someone who works from home and can give her extra time and patience to feel safe and secure. She’ll need a home without a yard, or someone who doesn't mind letting her out into the yard on a leash because, despite her small size, she’s quite the jumper and could easily escape if left unattended. We found out that she can jump an 8 foot fence!!!! I’ve been keeping her on a leash for potty breaks, and it works well. She’s also sneaky when it comes to food—if no one’s looking, she’ll help herself from the table! Pooke would thrive in a home that can provide lots of love and understanding as she continues to build her confidence. She’s such a sweet and loving dog, and I know she’ll bring so much joy to her forever family!" * * * * A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while she masters her skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful. Pooke is up to date on her vetting/vaccinations to be in line with our commitment to adopting out healthy dogs. She has also been spayed to fulfill our desire to see a euthanasia-free future. Pooke is available for adoption now. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit. **PLEASE NOTE**. If you're truly interested in adopting Pooke, please be sure to submit our adoption application. It's the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many circumstances, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit a Farfel's Farm adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
