Story
Meet sisters Boo and Bop! They are 1 year old Collie and Beagle mixes. Boo wears a medium-length black and white coat with tan on her face and back legs. Bop sports a medium length white and tan coat. Boo has reached her mature weight of 31 pounds and Bop has reached her mature weight of 45 pounds. Boo can be a little shy at first, but once she warms up her radiating personality will show! Bop is a very calm and relaxed dog that loves to lay around and nap, while Boo is full of energy and loves to run around. They both do really well on a leash, and they get along wonderfully with other dogs. When they get excited, Boo does a little whine and Bop snorts like a pig. They are both very sweet and loving dogs and deserve a great home. Adopt one (or both!) of these sisters and let them fill your life with love and laughter! (ME, 10/5/24)**It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. ** Adoption fee: $395 covers quarantine, shots, worming, medical records, spaying/neutering, microchip, and an Alabama State Health Certificate. Transport, if needed, is $160. We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. Adoption fees for Hope dogs and those who have been at rescue for prolonged amounts of time are reduced to $150 plus a $100 transport fee, as notated in their listings.October 15, 2024, 11:15 am

Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13401My name is Jacob and I am guessed to be a 1 year old Border Collie/Lab mix and currently weigh about 70 pounds. Here are some things my foster family has learned about me:- I am a sweet boy who needs time to adjust to new places and people.- Once I know I can trust you, I am a happy loving boy. I am also a "hugger" and greet foster mom with big hugs when I haven't seen her for a while. She says we are going to work on "four on the floor"- I like getting praise, pets and belly rubs from people I know well.- I am very curious and enjoy slowly exploring my foster home and yard (Click here, here, here, here and here to see me in foster care!- When I first arrived, I would retreat to the safety of my crate. Now that I am comfortable, I like hanging out with my foster family including my furry siblings.- I enjoy the company of other dogs. I love to run and play with them. Sometimes when playing with smaller dogs are visiting, though, I forget my size.- I am a smart boy who is eager to please. I know "sit", "come" and "leave it". I am treat motivated and will gently take treats from your hand. I have also learned to open lever handled doors and won't hesitate to let myself outside to play or back inside to check out what foster mom is doing.- I love being off leash in a fenced in yard. It takes time for me to trust people enough for them to walk me on a leash. Now that I know my foster family well, I enjoy going for long walks around the neighborhood. I get so happy when foster mom picks up my leash. I sit patiently while she puts on my harness and then I do my happy prance to the back gate so we can go. I walk well on a leash, though I do like to use my nose to find good things to eat along the sidewalk and stop at my favorite yard to roll in their lush grass. I especially enjoy going for hikes in the woods! - I have come so far meeting new people, but would still do best in a quiet neighborhood and a home with a fenced in yard so that I can get comfortable with my new people before needing to walk on a leash.- I have definitely learned the joy of toys. I can entertain myself with chew toys or dissecting squeakers out of plush toys. I like to run outside with my toys, where so I can toss them into the air and pounce after them. I haven't quite figured out fetch, but foster mom says that's OK.- When foster mom is working, I quietly nap nearby or entertain myself with chew toys. - At night I can either go into my crate with treats or just sleep on the sofa until morning.- I have been doing a great job going potty outside. I am looking for a loving home where I can continue to gain confidence and thrive. I am looking for someone who is patient and understands that I need time to learn to trust them before showing my happy playful side. If that's you, apply today.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/nelson2021/ Nelson here! My new adoptive family will need to be ready to provide a lot of training which my friends at FOHA will help to coordinate at time of adoption. I can be unpredictable so I am looking for a family with no kids 15 and under. Look deep into my different colored eyes - then get me a ball! I LOVE to play fetch! The second I see a ball or hear you say the word, I'm ready to play. I know how to fetch and I'll bring the ball right back to you and drop it at your feet. I also love water and getting sprayed with a hose! I've been lucky to join doggy social here at FOHA and I have enjoyed playing with other dogs. I love going for walks as I get to know the volunteers and they get to know me. As much as I like new dogs I am not comfortable around a lot of new people. So I would not do well in a dog park or doggie daycare. I'll go ahead and say it, I'm extremely smart. I'm looking for an active family that will put my intelligence to good use. I would love to have a huge fenced in backyard to chase my ball until my heart is content. Apartments and condos will not be a good fit for me. If you would like to come meet me, submit an application and we can set up a time to get to know each other. See you soon!! I am looking for a home with no kids, no cats, house with a large backyard, and an experienced owner willing to work on training. Check out all of the dogs available at Friends of Homeless Animals! https://foha.org/pet-adoption/find-a-dog/

Story
https://foha.org/pet/pelican2022/ Hey there, I'm Pelican, and while I may be a dog, my dreams take flight! I'm a spirited and cheerful fellow, always ready for some fun and games. Among all the activities, soccer is my absolute favorite, and I can't resist a thrilling match with my volunteer friends at FOHA. I've had a taste of home life before, where I shared the space with another dog. Things started off well, but I quickly realized that I might be at my best as the only four-legged companion in the house. If you're looking for an only-dog scenario, count me in! I'm a people-loving pup and have the boundless energy that's typical of a border collie mix. Bonus: I'm super soft to the touch, making cuddle time even better. If you're considering bringing me into your life, I have a special request. I'd thrive in a home with a very experienced owner who's up for working with me on a few behavioral challenges. I'd also do best in a home without children. I'm eager to shower you with love and am more than willing to learn and grow. So, what do you say? Will you be the one to come and meet me and embark on this incredible journey together? I'm waiting to spread my wings and soar with you!

Story
They are quite the dynamic duo. Lolo is big sister and protector - of both her human family and her brother Casey. And Casey is the goofball who wants nothing more than to play and give kisses. They are brother and sister and we want them adopted together. They love to spend their time romping in the yard and taking leisurely walks around the ranch. These beautiful and loyal companions would make great additions to an active family. They are fully vaccinated, neutered and spayed, and microchipped for life. They can be transported anywhere in the US or Canada. ##1939561##
