Dexter is a true country boy who enjoys running through the fields and playing with the hose when it's time to water the garden! Border collies are an incredibly intelligent and loyal breed. We can't wait to see what all this smart boy will be able to do in a home with training and stability! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. He has been in foster care since he was a few weeks old and unfortunately, he was left kennel by himself until now. I brought him to my house to socialize him and he’s in a pen with two other pups. He does great with people and dogs. He does not bark at night, which is a very pleasant surprise. He has a bright and bubbly personality. Barney is about 30 lbs. Barney will make a wonderful pet in a house full of little kids who want to play with him. Barney is currently with Ozark Homeward Bound animal rescue in a Foster home in Harrison Arkansas. Do not let distance be a deterrent. There is a Facebook page where you can see videos of him to get to know him. The adoption fee does cover the transport to get him to locations where he is listed or near those locations. This week guy was left locked in a cage for a couple of months. Since he's been in rescue, he is very affectionate and playful. Loves dogs, and kids but not a cat guy.
