Story
Meet Bleu! Bleu is a very sweet and wild girl who takes some time getting use to you, but once she does she will be your built in bestie. Bleu loves to play with her canine roommate but will ask to meet any canines currently residing in the home. Bleu does have some stranger danger and may take a couple visits to warm up to you as it took her some time to get warmed up to us here in the kennel, and we will ask that everyone living in the household come in to visit prior to her going home. Bleu also asks any children in the home be 6 and older as she will need some time to acclimate in the home small children may not be the best thing for her. Lasty, her adoption fee has been partially covered, so only $250 remains! If you would like to meet this lovey lady, please speak to a kennel technician today.

Story
Meet Augusto! This lanky guy came to us from a local shelter, and we don`t have any history on him other than that he was picked up as a stray. Augusto isn`t letting his past hold him back though, he`s as happy as can be and ready for his new home! Augusto very much still acts like a puppy, so he will need help with things like manners and potty training. Augusto can be pretty wild and excitable, so we definitely recommend that he go to a very active home! He`s also quite the jumper and can be pretty rough, so we will require any kids in the home are at least 10 years or older. We aren`t sure how he does with other dogs, so if you already have a dog in the home, they will need to meet Augusto prior to adoption. If you`re interested in taking this lovable wild child home, please ask a kennel technician for assistance!

Story
In Norfolk - Meet Saint! This 2 year old, blue-eyed, handsome boy found himself in a Louisiana shelter after being seized from a cruelty case in November 2023. Set to be euthanized, ASF rescued him in his final hour! ASF also learned that poor Saint had heartworms and had to be treated for several months, which consisted of restricted activity and crate rest. He is a solid, healthy & happy boy despite having a very rough start to life. Saint likes to play fetch and chase, but he's more on the medium energy level. He is leash reactive with dogs and squirrels and pulls on the leash (and he's strong!), but we're working on that daily. He's had several foster siblings, so he'd love a home with another dog for company. He is crate trained, but doesn't need it or like it. He isn't destructive or naughty when left free in the house. He will sleep in a dog bed or next to your bed at night. He doesn't guard his food or humans and shows zero signs of aggression. He loves to be right next to (touching) his people, on the sofa or in the bed. He is very affectionate and is quickly comfortable with people. He's actually a warm, snuggle machine. Saint's foster family is working on car rides because he gets very anxious, whining and barking for the first 10 minutes or so in the car. He has an Rx for anxiety if he's going to be in the car for a longer drive or around a lot of people. He's obedient, intelligent, and eager to please. He learned how to use the doggie door in about 30 minutes and will come inside from a knock on the window or a whistle. He gets a bath, nails trimmed, and teeth brushed without issues! He knows several commands like "sit", "wait", and "down." We're also working on better front door etiquette. He has a deep, intimidating bark for such a sweet boy. Older kids would probably be best for him because he doesn't realize his own strength. His prey drive is pretty strong, so no cats or small animals. Saint can jump chain link fences. Modifications will need to be made if his new family has this type of fence. Saint is looking for a loving and patient home to provide a new life full of love and cuddles. Saint is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. He's being fostered in Norfolk, Virginia. If Saint sounds perfect for your family, please fill out the application. https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.

We are calling them "Border Bullies"! Mama is a Border Collie, dad is a Pit Bull! I cannot imagine how smart these pups will be! They were born on October 13th. The owner of Nelly (mom) and Bruce (dad) unfortunately wound up in jail and obviously couldn't take care of this little family so they were surrendered to us on the day they were born. Both mom and dad have beautiful temperaments so I am quite sure these pups will be amazing! They will be available for adoption by January 11, 2025. They are all spayed/neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. How can you resist!! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! Story
There are special dogs in this world. You know them when you meet them. Just like people,Kaye they are all special for their own reasons.  Our blue eyed Kaye is a former mama dog that had several litters before she was two years old.  Down in a very rural area of Tennessee, we had apparently helped an earlier litter get adopted out after they were found on an isolated country highway. They looked exactly like her, but yet we did not know who or where she was yet. Six months later, Kaye was discovered by an older couple that had found the previous puppies, and she was very pregnant again.  We are adopting those puppies out now and they are precious like their mom.   Blue Eyed Kaye probably had never had fun in her life until she came in to our foster care. Now she's having the time of her life.  She's able to play and be loved and have fun.  Being a stray for most of your life and having litter after litter of puppies with nowhere to go, is pretty sobering.  Her beautiful blue eyes now dance with joy and delight as she plays with the resident foster dog who is half her size.  Kaye is a Border Collie, Aussie and Pointer mix.  She is around two years old and 47 pounds.  This girl learned the doggy door within hours of arrival and she definitely hates crates. GOOD NEWS IS.... when left out during the day, she does not destroy a thing. She is very respectful. This girl has just the right energy for playfulness, and then chill time.  She loves all creatures and would be a great family companion who would be wonderful with children.  She can live with other dogs or cats. Or she could be a single family pet.  All Kaye  wants is love.  If you have all the special ingredients for making her life the most fairy tale ending ever, please write to Critter Cavalry  Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.   She is ready for her Prince Charming family to come along and sweep her off her feet. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.February 19, 2025, 1:48 pm

Story
This beautiful girl is called Kenzie, and she is from what we can tell,  a border collie mix that defies definition in character and charm and intelligence. This girl is approximately 4-5 months old.And weighs twenty eight pounds. Her adult weight should be about 45 pounds. Her story is not uncommon in the south, but it definitely was one of abuse or more accurately qualified as neglect.  She was located in a very small pin that was outside with very little cover. No straw low temperatures and food thrown on the ground without a bowl and frozen water in the water bucket her owner was actually homeless and not even in the area due to illness.   We expected a very emotionally damaged girl as well as physically harmed, but that was not the case.   Our girl Kinsey is a survivor and a brilliant puppy. Full of life and resilience and confidence.  She adores other dogs young children comma is fine with cats.If that is what she needs to live with.  She has beautiful eyes that are the color of blue in one and brown in the other.  Her charming personality is bold happy and full of smiles an energy.  She embraces life with the full expectancy that she will give good and good will come back to her.And that is what we have promised her at critter cavalry rescue. We will not settle for anything but the best. And our hope is that she will have a home filled with laughter and activities thar also include a home with a fenced yard, and long walks or jogs, along with excursions in the car that the best of great outdoor events. Kinsey is a dog that will make you live with a big soul and a ready expectation to good things to happen in your life.  She brings great karma to all who meet her.  She has the softest silkiest fur ever.  If you are interested in this housebroken, crate trained and undeniable beauty, then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comFebruary 27, 2025, 6:55 pm

Story
This handsome scruffy black and white darling boy is called Ross and we have determined that he is a Border Collie/Border Terrier mix that is estimated to be 5 months old and weighs 14 pounds and destined to be around 35 pounds as an adult.  This boy and his sister, Rachel, were abandoned in a small rural area of Tennessee at a cabin that was a parttime retreat for a family that lived 200 miles away.  Fortunately ,the cabin’s doorbell camera  caught these puppies being abandoned and alerted the property owner that these poor puppies were in trouble with no food or water anywhere around.  To make matters worse, impending frigid weather was on its way to their area.  The doors opened and rescue forces got to work quickly to go and pick up the puppies and carry them to a Critter Cavalry Rescue foster home.   This puppy and his sister are both smart and anxious to please.  Ross wants to be someone's special Valentine. He is crate trained and learning what it's like to be in a warm and loving home.  It's hard to imagine that only 2 weeks ago some cold-hearted person dumped him and his sister Rachel to possibly die from lack of care or food.  God was with them in finding immediate help and they have been worth every effort.  So sweet and loving and innocent.  Beautiful pups with wiry faces and sleek Terrier bodies that bring a smile when you meet them.  Ross is being neutered on Feb. 4th and will be ready for a forever home on Valentine’s Day.  We estimate that he will grow to be a 40 pound handsome boy that will bring so much fun, love and adventure to the person or persons who adopt him.  If you are wanting a wonderful rescue puppy to raise and love then please consider Ross.   Critter Cavalry Rescue transports from Nashville, Tn to the northeast and of course local Tennessee adoptions are welcome, too.  Please email asking for an application to ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMarch 11, 2025, 9:45 pm

Story
Where are my sweet mama dog lovers??!! Margarita (aka Maria) traveled to Virginia Beach in July of 2022. She settled in nicely with her adopted mom and was described as a super sweet, snuggle bug. Unfortunately, she is not a fan of her new human sister(who is now a toddler) with another on the way. She is approximately 5 years old and 33 pounds. She has been at a board and train with our trainer for the last 3 weeks, gaining some confidence and social skills. She is still a bit reactive to some dogs and would prefer to be an only dog and soak up all of the attention! She’s housebroken and crate trained. An ideal adopter would be committed to maintaining structure and using positive reinforcement with Maria. She would greatly benefit from a predictable and supportive environment. Maria has a lot of love to give her person. Complete one of our online adoption applications today! BLUE - 7 years old, 70 pounds, house trained; home with older kids, only dog, no cats. *After being with his family his whole life, Blue is now sitting in a shelter because that family could no longer care for his needs.  *He is reactive from behind the cage bars but once he actually meets you outside of the cage, he is a friendly and nice boy.  *He is already house trained and used to walking on a leash.  *He isn't used to a lot of handling so it might take time for him to trust you but once that bond has been created, you are good to go!  *Blue can be trusted roaming free in a home and he would be a nice companion to take on car rides and vacations. *Blue is said to be good with other dogs but he would be best as the only dog in a home. *Blue is currently in our large dog adoption kennel so come in to meet him!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 26, 2025, 1:55 pm

Story
Axel is unfortunately a repeat visitor to our shelter. He was previously surrendered to another shelter because of being too protective over his owner. And he's here again for the same reason. He is once again looking for an owner that is understanding of the Aussie breed and will work with him on basic training and manners. Because of his reactivity, a home with no young children is recommended. His prior owners have described him as super smart, sweet and very loyal to his people. He enjoys walks, toys and cuddles. He is very protective of his people and home, so crating him when there are visitors in the home is best. Come by the shelter to meet this handsome boy today!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 15, 2025, 2:35 pm
