Story
This girl ended in the shelter due to her owner being arrested and not being able to find her a home. Gracie is a great dog who has fit into her foster home quite well. She is learning about cats and being on a leash. She is housebroken with a dog door but was also house trained without one. She is a bit of energy so will need an active family to keep up! She is friendly and has gotten a long with other dogs of various sizes really well. She loves to play and is pure fun! She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
https://foha.org/pet/nelson2021/ Nelson here! My new adoptive family will need to be ready to provide a lot of training which my friends at FOHA will help to coordinate at time of adoption. I can be unpredictable so I am looking for a family with no kids 15 and under. Look deep into my different colored eyes - then get me a ball! I LOVE to play fetch! The second I see a ball or hear you say the word, I'm ready to play. I know how to fetch and I'll bring the ball right back to you and drop it at your feet. I also love water and getting sprayed with a hose! I've been lucky to join doggy social here at FOHA and I have enjoyed playing with other dogs. I love going for walks as I get to know the volunteers and they get to know me. As much as I like new dogs I am not comfortable around a lot of new people. So I would not do well in a dog park or doggie daycare. I'll go ahead and say it, I'm extremely smart. I'm looking for an active family that will put my intelligence to good use. I would love to have a huge fenced in backyard to chase my ball until my heart is content. Apartments and condos will not be a good fit for me. If you would like to come meet me, submit an application and we can set up a time to get to know each other. See you soon!! I am looking for a home with no kids, no cats, house with a large backyard, and an experienced owner willing to work on training. Check out all of the dogs available at Friends of Homeless Animals! https://foha.org/pet-adoption/find-a-dog/

Story
https://foha.org/pet/pelican2022/ Hey there, I'm Pelican, and while I may be a dog, my dreams take flight! I'm a spirited and cheerful fellow, always ready for some fun and games. Among all the activities, soccer is my absolute favorite, and I can't resist a thrilling match with my volunteer friends at FOHA. I've had a taste of home life before, where I shared the space with another dog. Things started off well, but I quickly realized that I might be at my best as the only four-legged companion in the house. If you're looking for an only-dog scenario, count me in! I'm a people-loving pup and have the boundless energy that's typical of a border collie mix. Bonus: I'm super soft to the touch, making cuddle time even better. If you're considering bringing me into your life, I have a special request. I'd thrive in a home with a very experienced owner who's up for working with me on a few behavioral challenges. I'd also do best in a home without children. I'm eager to shower you with love and am more than willing to learn and grow. So, what do you say? Will you be the one to come and meet me and embark on this incredible journey together? I'm waiting to spread my wings and soar with you!

Story
This is one of the hardest decisions we’ve ever made, but we are looking for a new home for our beloved border collie, Alex. He has been with us since he was a puppy, and rehoming him is not something we ever imagined. However, with two young children—a toddler and a baby—our home dynamic has changed, and Alex now spends a lot of time with my in-laws since he needs more exercise and attention than we can provide. Alex was born in 2014 and came from a breeder in Pennsylvania. He has always been wonderful with our kids and our female golden retriever. He has also adjusted well to living separately from her. He is intelligent, eager to learn, and full of energy. He loves fetch—especially with tennis balls—and will bring the ball right to your hand. He knows some tricks and enjoys cuddling on the couch. Leash reactivity was a challenge, but he has improved significantly and now enjoys outings to the farmers market and Home Depot. We hope to find Alex a loving, active home.

These pups are in Leesburg, Virginia too!
