Story
Fatty’s name does not do him justice – he should be named gentle love bug instead. While he likes food and weighs 35 to 40 lbs, he is very slow eating it and likes to lie down while eating – not a fatty at all! He is doing great with potty training and sleeps through the night in a crate without a sound or any accidents. His herding side really shows through when in the house – he follows his foster mom whenever she gets up and likes to lie at her feet. While he likes other dogs and people he has meet, he is timid about new things, but he is getting more comfortable every day. He’s a medium energy dog and is great at matching your energy – he is content to lie at your feet with a soft chew toy or go on a 3 mile walk with you. He’s up for anything just as long as he’s near you! He also likes to play ball – he is not the fastest or most graceful, but very cutely bounds after tennis balls. If you have the time to give and a spot in your heart, Fatty would make a great addition to any home :)Accuracy is not guaranteed; however, information provided is accurate to the best of our knowledge.  For more information on the pet, please send an email to info@aforeverhome.org March 5, 2025, 3:07 pm

Story
Here is what sweet Pickle BC's foster mom tells us about her: 'Pickle BC is a real sweetheart! And she is house trained now too! She sleeps well through the night and is very easy to correct. Pickle is also a good watch dog! She is very good at keeping herself entertained with a tennis ball or bone and thankfully, is non-destructive inside or outside. She's very quick to get to food that falls on the floor and loves her meals! She would be great in a home that has a playful dog already and has someone a good part of the day. Pickles loves everyone in the family and doesn't play favorites. She has really come out of her shell and she will make an excellent family pet!!' We think she really needs to be in a home with another playful or confident dog to help her continue to progress. If you are interested in this beautiful and sweet pup, please let us know! Thank you for your interest in Pickle BC! Story
This girl ended in the shelter due to her owner being arrested and not being able to find her a home. Gracie is a great dog who has fit into her foster home quite well. She is learning about cats and being on a leash. She is housebroken with a dog door but was also house trained without one. She is a bit of energy so will need an active family to keep up! She is friendly and has gotten a long with other dogs of various sizes really well. She loves to play and is pure fun! She is located in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Mavis has been sponsored by a good Samaritan, so the adoption fee has gone down. This puppy was the last of a litter that was being given away at a local Walmart. One of the transport drivers saw her and asked us to bring her into rescue. Cold and scared, they bought her to our local clinic to be vetted and then took her to foster until we could find her a forever home. Mavis is going to make someone a wonderful family dog. Her playmates at the foster home are two huge dogs but this little girl thinks she is the big boss. She also adores the children - who range from 2 - 10 years old - and in true puppy fashion, loves to play and have all the attention she can get. If you would like to add the darling Miss Mavis to your home, please respond by using the big black button marked " Ask About Me" and we will send you an application. These dogs are being fostered in TN but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.

These pups are in Fairfax, Virginia too!

Meet Tex, a sweet boy of about 9 months. A true cattle dog!! Their foster parents have been very attentive to him and his sister Charlie. It shows in their behavior and personalities. As you can see below, Tex LOVES water!!!! He thinks he is a fish!!! He loves play pools and if there's not a play pool, he will try to get in a 5gal bucket with his front paws. He's very playful and wants to be around people. Loves people! He has done well with our five dogs and a new barn cat. I would not recommend chickens. Sadly he wants to play with them! He would be wonderful in a family setting... We are only asking for transport cost to PA, RI or other states in which we travel to! Meet Charlie, a sweet girl of about 9 months. A true cattle dog!! Their foster parents have been very attentive to her and her brother Tex, also listed. It shows in their behavior and personalities. As you can see below, Tex and Charlie really love each other. We wanted to adopt them as a bonded pair but it has proven to be to much. She loves to play pools and interact with people and other animals. Charlie has shown no aggression with the barn cats and they do not seem to bother her at all. She is very playful and wants to be around people. Loves people! She is a more laid back dog than Tex. Charlie has done well with our five dogs and a new barn cat. I would not recommend chickens. Sadly she wants to play with them! She would be wonderful in a family setting... We are only asking for transport cost to PA, RI or other states in which we travel to! Bonnie is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. The Adoption Fee is $375.00 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**
