Meet our rare and beautiful Jolene, a stunning 3-year-old, 35-pound Red Merle Border Collie with a heart full of joy and a personality that will melt the heart as well! Jolene is playful, friendly, and always eager to greet her favorite people with a low, charming howl. She’s a social butterfly who loves children, adores cuddles, and thrives in the company of other dogs and even cats.This intelligent girl enjoys playing ball and is incredibly responsive to commands. She knows how to sit, stay, come, and heel, and she excels on a leash with the guidance of a strong leader—walking right at your side when told to 'heel.' True to her Border Collie nature, Jolene is a quick learner who seems to understand what you’re thinking before you even say it! While Jolene was house-trained as a puppy, she’s spent most of her recent time outdoors on a farm. She would thrive in a home with a fenced yard but is not suited for a home with chickens or livestock she is tempted to chase.  Her vibrant energy, loyal disposition, and affectionate nature make her the perfect companion for an active family who is ready to give her all the love and attention she deserves.  N We would like to know if a responding and adoptive family has any hurting breed experience in owning a dog. Meet Charlie Barkley.  He is a sweet, playful awesome dog who is very easy to love.  He walks on a leash but needs additional training as he pulls.  He knows some basic commands but does need a bit more training.  Charlie is a 1 to 1 1/2 year old neutered male who weighs approximately 52 lbs.  He was originally adopted by a family that decided they no longer wanted him so they dumped him in a south Nashville neighborhood.  Charlie was found by a nice family that took him but cannot keep him because they have older cats.  They would love to add him to their family but it just win't work out.  He's been vet checked,  is current on his vaccines and is in excellent health.  Charlie is full of puppy energy and ready to play ball with the children.  He needs a younger active and energetic family who can  give him the exercise and play that he needs.  A fecned in yard is a MUST for Charlie.  When not playing, by the way ball is his favorite game, he loves to snuggle and get belly rubs. Bear is a 1 year old (DOB 2/7/2023) Heeler/Border Collie/Catahoula mix neutered, UTD on shots, heartworm negative and on prevention, microchipped, kennel trained, and potty trained. He weighs about 45 pounds. He gets along with all of the dogs at our house, not tested with smaller dogs or cats. Has a high prey drive with the squirrels and rabbits outside. He is shy and cautious at first but warms up quickly. Highly motivated to learn and very ball driven. He also likes to cuddle up next to you on the couch. He is energetic, so I wouldn't recommend small children. He would make a great family dog. Owner has been taking care Bear and three of his siblings since July. Trying to help a neighbor keep his unexpected litter out of the shelter. Willing to travel for the right home. Meet Polo! A 3 year old very energetic border collie. He is very friendly and loves people. He is always following his family around, loves to be with them, but needs to be outside a lot. At this time the owners are not able to give Polo the time he needs, so he does get bored very easily. He does well with other dogs, but as with any other dog, we suggest a slow introduction. He has been to Dogtopia several times for boarding, and to day care all day every other Sunday, he did have a couple of “times out” but nothing bad. He’s never been around cats. He does play hard with other dogs, he does nip when playing, but that can be easily corrected. Polo can have some resource guarding with his toys, which could be handled with proper training. Occasionally there may be some food aggression. And he can be stubborn if he has something in his mouth but they have learned to trick him to get it. They have stopped giving him dog bones, that has helped with his food guarding. Polo’s new owners would need to be open to invest in training for him The family is attached to Polo and did reach out to rehome before, but decided to keep him. But now with busy schedules they are finding it difficult to give Polo the training and activity he needs to strive.
