Story
Hello, future family! I'm Daisy Mae, a large and lovable black dog with a heart as vast as my midnight-hued coat. I've been patiently waiting for 507 days to find my forever home, and I believe this Christmas could be the one where I finally get to spend my days surrounded by love and warmth. About Me:I'm a gentle giant, known for my soulful eyes and an unwavering spirit. Typical to my shepherd lineage I can be wary of strangers, but, once I know, you are my person I love with my whole being. Despite my 507 days spent at the shelter, I've never lost hope that the right family will come along and see the joy I can bring to their lives. I'm well-behaved, house-trained, and ready to share my love with someone special. My Christmas Wish List:To make my time at the shelter brighter, I've curated an Amazon wish list filled with items that would add a touch of festive cheer to my days. If you're feeling extra generous this holiday season, consider checking out my list and making my Christmas dreams come true. It's not just about the gifts; it's about the love and thoughtfulness behind them. https://a.co/fH47PqL How You Can Help:If you're not in a position to adopt right now, you can still be a part of my journey by contributing to my Amazon wish list or sharing my story. Your kindness could make this Christmas one to remember.  Adoption Details:Ready to make my dreams come true? Just fill out the no obligation, application to schedule a meet-and-greet.  ##1560455##

Story
Mikka is a 40 lbs, spunky Border Collie mix. This girl is really loving life. She is a very sweet girl, but is still uncertain about a lot of things so she needs people that will help her learn and feel secure in the world. She enjoys meeting new people, going on car rides, and LOVES spending time outdoors. She is young with a lot of energy and needs positive training. Mikka is very smart and catches on to new things quickly. She knows sit and down, but we’re still working on stay and her leash walking is coming along really well. She does well with other dogs that can handle her energy, but does require slow introductions, she would love to have a playmate. She needs an active family that will keep both her mind and body stimulated. She is slowly learning to be a great cuddler. Mikka is a very sweet girl and would be a great companion, she will love you with all her heart. She has a lot of herding instincts and would be great for working/sports/competition. She is also very fast. If you are looking to a buddy that’s always ready to go look no further than Mikka. To adopt Mikka, please apply at www.htxdogrescue.org.

Story
Meet Pesto!! This gorgeous boy was rescued as a stray a couple years ago and moved to MA to be adopted. Unfortunately, once a baby joined the family, Pesto needed a new place to go. So he hit the road and is now back in his home town of Houston. He's a friendly guy who loves treats and getting attention. He wakes up with his big smile everyday. He's currently in boarding, so he's working on his leash skills while there. He's really excited at the beginning of his walking adventure and may pull some, but settles in nicely. Pesto is listed at about 3.5 years but we think he could be a bit older. He weighs about 55lbs. Pesto does have longer hair so that requires a bit of beauty maintenance. We think Pesto would be best in an adult only home. He tends to get mats on his tail if not properly cared for, and this makes his rear end very sensitive. He can get upset if you try to touch him there when he has a mat. If you would like to meet Pesto, please reach out! He really wants to be part of a family again and have a home to call his own. info@theunderdogconnection.org

BILINGUAL POOCH  Estimated DOB 10/29/19, weight 55 pounds Hello!  My name is Lucas, and I was abandoned at a vet clinic where I was tied to the front door.  Fortunately, the clinic found a client who agreed to take me in and foster me. The vet helped get me hooked up with an adoption program, so here I am, a HOPE dog now! I love playing with balls and squeaky toys, going running with my foster mom’s neighbor, and sunning in the backyard in nice weather. I like to play with other dogs, but I like to wrestle. It looks/ sounds rough, so I may be better as the only-pet child. I'm a smart boy who already knows "sit." I'm crate trained, bilingual, and ready to snuggle with you! Arrange to meet me today! HOPE ID: D23-0211-0010 If you are interested in Lucas and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php. Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt from us but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. GREAT FAMILY DOG  DOB 11/1/18, weight 65 pounds Hey there, everyone! I’m Kodi, a sweet, loving, and playful red Australian Stumpy-Tail Cattle Dog mix. (This is an AKC breed that is NOT an Australian Cattle Dog with a docked tail.) We are a naturally bob-tailed breed that stands square with plenty of leg-length under our bodies. My hooman mom describes me as “a great family dog” because I get along great with adults, kids, cats, and other dogs. You name it, I’m easy to please. Like my brother Gordo, I can’t get enough of playing fetch, and I’m an expert at focusing on the ball. I should be an Astros outfielder! After a rousing game of fetch, I enjoy being a couch potato with Gordo. I pride myself on my dedication to guarding my foster home.  When my owner died, a relative gave me to my new mom. She loves me, and I do fit in great here, but unfortunately she is under the threat of eviction and wisely is trying to find me the perfect forever home that I deserve. Do you have room in your heart and hearth for a big, burly, and handsome red man who will love you 200%? Then arrange to meet me, and let’s begin writing a new chapter in our lives together! Incidentally there are advantages to adopting an adult dog like me. I have perfect house habits and won’t chew or destroy your stuff. HOPE ID D24-0316-0006 If you are interested in Kodi and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt from us but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. Story
ALL-AROUND GREAT COMPANION DOB 8/28/23, weight 39 lb. Hey there, everyone! I’m Willie, a sweet, friendly, and affectionate Cattle Dog/ Black Lab mix who loves spending quality time close by my hoomans. In my quiet way, I want to be wherever Foster Mom is. I’m sociable with people who want to engage, but I don't annoy or demand hooman attention. I’m a handsome dude who’s as fantastic on the inside as I look on the outside! I’m playful when it’s playtime, but I settle down and happily chill out at Foster Mom’s feet while she reads. I quietly sleep at the end of her bed and snuggle next to her thigh on the sofa as we binge together on Animal Planet and Netflix. I walk well on a leash and really enjoy long walks in the neighborhood so I can sniff and explore new things. I’m smart and eager to please, so I’m easily trained and catch on quickly. I’ve got the compact build and head of an Cattle Dog, but my short, smooth black coat with white locket and vest indicate that Lab blood is probably also coursing through my veins. Since Cattle Dogs are herding dogs, we’re in our groove when we’re given a job to do that engages us both mentally and physically. With our boundless energy and keen intelligence, we excel at dog sports like agility and make excellent running partners. To keep us out of mischief, our hoomans should avoid allowing us to get bored! A Good Samaritan found me as a stray who was probably dumped on the side of the busy Grand Parkway in front of the PetSmart in Richmond. She posted on FaceBook that she had found me, but no one responded. After bouncing around to several homes for my first few days post-rescue, I was ecstatic when my future foster mom stepped up to the plate and agreed to foster me. I haven't been tested around kids, but I'm probably young and gentle enough to live happily in a home with small children. I'm the only dog in my foster home, but I'm friendly when I meet other dogs on my walks (and tug on my leash when I see a cat that I want to chase). Now I’m ready to find my forever home. If you’re looking for a true-blue loyal buddy who’s an all-around great companion dog, I’m your man! Arrange to meet me today! My heart has so much love to give – all I need is YOU! HOPE ID D24-0810-0029 If you are interested in Willie and would like to fill out a Dog Adoption Application, please go to: http://www.homelesspets.net/adoption-forms/dog-adoption.php . Submitting an application does not obligate you to adopt, but it initiates contact with us and gets the process started. If you have questions prior to filling out the application, email us at lisagilchrist16@gmail.com and a volunteer will get back to you.
