These puppies were found with an older male dog out in the county and not reclaimed. They are happy, friendly puppies that love attention. They were pretty thin when they came in and a few have already displayed resource guarding around food and their siblings, so a home where they are fed separately from other dogs is a must. They are puppies and have never been by themselves so may display separation anxiety at first in a new home. They will still need training and guidance when it comes to housetraining. Happy is spayed, fully vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped.

Story
Prince was adopted from us and returned due to no fault of his own. He is a very sweet dog who does get nervous easily. He has a tendency to nervous pee, but has done well otherwise with holding it in until he is outside. He loves other dogs and seems to do better interacting with staff when other dogs are around. We do always highly recommend a meet and greet with any current household dogs. He did well when we cat tested him here at the shelter, but we always recommend a slow meet and greet with any that are currently at home. He does not like when cats show aggression towards him and tends to dispute. Prince has received all his vaccinations, a neuter, de-wormer, a microchip, and is heartworm negative and on prevention.

Possum is smart & enthusiastic. Look how happy he is and well adjusted! His foster is doing a wonderful job of bringing his sweet personality out. We’re thinking maybe an agility dog in the making. Who knows, a hidden celebrity!!! He knows come, and quickly learned some agility stations. He went over a jump and a round jump with ease, and even went through a tunnel with no fear. He’s an agile boy, eager to please. He’s about 18 months old, still in the puppy stage, fully vetted, neutered and heart worm negative. He is a smaller dog, 32 lbs of devotion and new zest for life. His time at the shelter really had him scared but he’s back to his good ole self as you can see. He loves his 2 resident siblings, smaller male and female. Eugene originally came in from a cruelty case, was adopted, then found out in the county as a stray. The previous adopter no longer wanted him when contacted. Eugene is still in his puppy era and has boundless energy. He came in with several dogs originally and did well with his finder's senior dogs, but a meet and greet with future doggy siblings is highly recommended. He walks very well on a leash and knows how to sit. He loves giving kisses and any kind of attention. He is still a chewer since he is a puppy and stuffed toys don't last very long in his kennel. We do not know if he is potty trained.. Eugene is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and de-wormed. All adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability. ECHS does not reserve adoptable animals for the public. Please note that availability is subject to change at any point in time per ECHS discretion.

PLEASE NOTE: Smoke Show is a very skittish puppy. While she has started to slowly warm up to staff, she will most definitely be scared in a new environment. When she first came here she was very barky and even a bit nippy, so please be patient with her as she adjusts to your home. Smoke Show was found near 800 W Washington St and never reclaimed. She is still very scared here at the shelter and not too fond of humans. She does accept treats from people's hands but will run to the back of her kennel once she has them. When she feels cornered, she does bark in fear. We are still trying to work with her to get her used to human interaction. She loves other dogs, but a meet and greet is always highly recommended with any current household dogs. She is treat motivated and has started to learn sit. She will need to be fed separately from other dogs as she is possessive over food and treats. She is a puppy and does potty in the crates. Any negative behaviors such as potting in the house and chewing on things will need to be trained out of her. Smoke Show has all her vaccinations, is spayed, and de-wormed. She is pending microchip. ECHS does not reserve adoptable animals for the public. Adoptions are first come first serve the day of availability. Please note that availability is subject to change at any point in time per ECHS discretion

Guy was found as a stray and not reclaimed. Animal Control has dealt with him at his previous home and he does have a bite history. Because of this, we are recommending an adult only home and someone who has experience with dogs. Since being at the shelter, he has been very friendly and didn't take too long to open up to staff. He loves all attention and giving big old slobbery kisses. He knows how to play fetch and loves to play tug of war. He gets excited when he sees people he likes. We do not know how he is with other dogs, and we always highly recommend a meet and greet with any current household dogs. He walks fairly well on a leash. He will not stay in a crate for very long, but has seemed to be potty trained while in his kennel. Guy is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.
