Meet Henry! He’s a loveable, 86lb, neutered male, border collie mix who is about 4-5 years old. He loves going on walks, exploring in his yard, cuddling with his people, and is shameless about asking to be petted with a head nudge. He knows basic commands (sit, shake, down), enjoys his kennel, and is house trained. While he is fostered in a home without other pets or children, he has interreacted well with other dogs and would be best with older children. Lucy was found as a stray in a beautiful wooded neighborhood in NW Houston, likely dumped. This is unfortunately a common occurrence in this area. Lucy may be a purebred dog but we have no way to confirm this. She is a Smooth Coated Border Collie. Her age is also in question, so we are guessing she is about 5-6 years old. Lucy comes from a working breed and lives up to this reputation. She is not a dog companion. She does however like to keep all the dogs in the household in line. Lucy is a low energy dog enjoying lounging in her favorite spots on the stair landing or in front of the window where she can monitor all activity inside and outside. Other things she really enjoys are her daily walks (verbalizing her excitement), watching tv with you (and getting a back scratch), and crawling in bed in the morning to say hello. Lucy is very loving and affectionate, and would do really well as an only dog to a person or family with no small children. She does not mind children, but has a delicate back leg that should not be climbed on. She has been on a good joint supplement for this and it should be continued. Lucy is raw fed and has blossomed on this protocol. It helps her joint issue and keeps shedding from her silky coat to a minimum. We are looking for adopters that would continue this diet. She is house trained and extremely reliable. Lucy does not chew or destroy items left out. She is HW negative, spayed and up to date on her rabies vaccine. Hi, I'm Lucky! I'm a petite 5-6 month old border collie mix. I am a playful, joyous, energetic pup that loves to chase toys, run, bound, lean in for pets and get belly rubs. I even do a happy dance when it's time for breakfast and dinner. And, did I mention that I have the cutest markings in the world? Hard to not love my little eye patches plus white feet and white tipped tail! I am very intelligent - Since being with my foster, I have learned to sit, lay down, and 'touch' for targeting. I have made tremendous strides on leash, and while I'm not fully crate trained, I will go in for my food and wait quietly to go back out. I was good for the vet in getting my shots and will be neutered Oct 22. Unfortunately, I wasn't always so lucky and found myself dumped at a rural gas station, running up to every car hoping that they were my family.
