Meet Izzy bizzy bee Izzy is a very special girl and she’s looking for her very special family, maybe that’s you or someone you know! Izzy is a former alumni dog who has come back to BCRRT - through no fault of her previous family - unfortunately circumstances changed and it was best for all parties that Izzy come back to us. Since being back we have learnt all about Izzy and her wonderful personality. We have discovered the love she gives us is never ending, the cuddles she produces are out of this world and that she loves nothing more than her donut ring toy and a tennis ball!! She does take time to warm up but once she trusts you, she bonds to her person/people and is ready for all the adventures that lie ahead. Izzy will need a home that is quiet. She would be best suited to a family with no young children and no other dogs. She is such a sweet girl with love to give and would love to find her forever home with people willing to spend time with her, throwing a ball around, quiet walks with her humans and cuddles. She is active but has an excellent off-switch and knows when it is time for inside vs outside. Izzy would do well with an older couple, maybe an empty-nest home where she can be spoilt forever and ever. In return she will give you her unwavering loyalty and spunk Izzy is around 6 years old, UTD on all shots and spayed. Lucy goosy goose 🪿 or at least that’s what my foster dad says when it’s time for dinner! Hi! My name is Lucy! I am a 5 year old female Border Collie in the DFW area, searching for my furever home…is that you?! I am around 40lbs, spayed and UTD on shots. I’m your typical BC - herdy, nerdy, active and playful! And sometimes a little quirky. I was an owner surrender to a Texas shelter because my owners couldn’t care for my vet bills anymore. After many tests, trials and treatments the vets were a little stumped on why I sometimes have issues digesting my food 🍲 sometimes I eat too quickly and sometimes food gives me indigestion so it comes back up. It doesn’t affect me much beyond some fluctuating weight and doesn’t happen all the time - see, quirky! My foster parents said whoever adopts me just needs to be patient and kind with me. I would do best as an only dog or with a four-legged friend who is playful and doesn’t mind me wanting to herd them! I would also do best in a home with older children because I do like to herd (I’m a border collie!) Maybe even an older home with someone to keep me company during the day, walks and play time! I am cat tested and safe, the resident cat is a little scary. I am crate trained, leash trained and my favourite thing in the world is to play fetch!! Merlin is a very handsome Border Collie mix. He is two years old and weighs about 42 lbs - not too big, not too small, just right! Merlin came to Humane Tomorrow as a very shy and fearful dog, and while new things still scare him a little, at home he is a totally normal dog now. He loves to run around in the backyard, playing with the other dogs in his foster home. He really must have another playful dog to help him settle in to his new home and feel comfortable. Merlin also needs lots of sturdy chew toys and he LOVES to play fetch (but he'll chew up a tennis ball in nothing flat, so Kong-type toys are best). Merlin is a smart dog, and he will sit perfectly when waiting for the nightly treats. He is ok going for short walks and car rides (but remember - new things do scare him). He will be perfectly content to play and exercise in his own backyard where it's safe and familiar. He's probably always going to startle at loud noises and be cautious around new people, but he's getting a little braver every day. Merlin will be fine with anyone once he gets to know them, but he can play a little rough so kids over 10 are probably best for him. Merlin is an affectionate, playful, devoted dog who just needs someone who accepts him for who he is.

Sweetest SADIE is still looking for a family. She's pretty neutral with her dog friends as long as they do not try to be dominant of her. She can be super playful! She gets zoomies, and loves playing in water! She's great with and LOVES kids. We believe she is part kangaroo the way she hops at times when excited and may accidentally cause a little human to tumble so older children who are steady on their feet may be best. She is totally fine with cats once they accept her and the newness wears off, but you have to be willing to work with her and your cat quite a bit in the beginning. She is a jerk in a crate. Definitely not her strong suit. We get it given her life before rescue. She HATES the sound of Thunder so storm season has been super fun but all you have to do is snuggle and reassure her and she's just fine. She does not require a whole lot of activity but she is a slippery one who we could see being able to jump a 4ft or chain link fence if she really wanted to! A minimum 6ft, solid fence is a must because of this. Sadie does walk great on a leash though and loves going for rides! She is also solid on the potty training and only weighs 45lbs! Her strongest quality is her huge heart and eagerness to learn and make you happy! She will give you everything if you just give her love. Despite the lack of attention and affection Sadie got for the 5 years she was outside alone in a filthy 4x6 dog run... she has alot of love to give and is a GREAT COMPANION!
