Story
Panda is almost 2 years old. We found him and 2 others on the side of the road when they were about 3 months old. We took them in to foster for a short time to ensure that they were healthy and loved while the shelters were full. We are hoping to get him to a home where he will be able to run around, get his energy out and explore. He is very sweet, playful and loves attention and being pet. He gets along well with dogs and cats. He is also good around children. Panda has never been a single pet in a household so we are not sure how he will do as a solo pet. He is up to date on shots and does well at the boarding facility with other animals. Loves: -playing in water -getting toys out of the bin -getting treats for doing tasks -observing you cook -being on a schedule Dislikes: -eating around others

Story
Henry came to us as a young pup and was diagnosed with Megaesophagus. You can see by looking at him that it does not slow him down. The absolute only thing different between him and any other dog is that he has to eat on two feet. Everything else is normal. Eating on 4 feet is not an option for him. However, he can drink and have treats on 4. He is crate, house trained, and doggie door trained. He gets along well with all size of dogs as he has several foster siblings. He is very loving and affectionate and believe it or not is sensitive. When researching this condition, ask questions as not all cases are the same. His foster has had two different ME dogs and both are very different. He needs that special person who will look after him and make sure he stays and healthy and happy as he is now. He would love to have a playmate too.

Story
Gordy is a fluffy cookie monster, trapped in the body of a Border Collie. He doesn't know how to herd livestock or chase balls. He'd rather sit pretty for treats than run after sheep.Gordy is as handsome as they come! His right ear always stands at attention, while his left cocks to the side and a smile is stretched across his face. He loves to play tag in the yard with other dogs and tries to beat the neighboring dog to the end of the fence line. Gordy may be a little slow when feeling at ease in new situations or with new people, but once he knows you're a good person, he'll think you're the bee's knees and want to be friends!Would you like to wake up to Gordy's smile every morning? Then contact OHAR to learn more about how to meet him!History: Gordy was turned into the Mesquite Animal shelter when found as a stray. Gordy is a happy, playful guy who is eager to please. He is crate trained graduated from obedience training where he was a star pupil.Adoption Process: After your application is approved, a home visit is schedule. We will bring the pet to you and help with introductions to your current pet(s). You will then have a week with the pet to ensure they are the right fit for your home. At the end of the week, you finalize the adoption and the pet is officially part of your family! Learn more at ohar.org/adoptionprocess

Story
Allow me to introduce you to Waffles, a mixed breed youngster picked up by one of our officers on 12/7 and brought to the Mesquite Animal Shelter as a stray. Isn’t he a handsome and adorable pup? Waffles has plenty of vim and vigor and in his excitement, he will jump continually on you! This will be something a foster or adopter need to address and correct. Until that happens, he would not be a good fit for a home with very small children. He has an outgoing and confident personality. Nothing timid or shy about Waffles. He is friendly and a-OK with being petted and loved on. He likes treats and therefore may be easy to train with the motivation of yummy treats. And he does need manners training! Waffles walks quite nicely on a leash despite his high energy level! This may have been his first time out of the kennel since his arrival. Therefore, it may be quite understandable the high level on the “energy” barometer! There is no doubt that with daily playtime, exercise, enrichment, and training this boy would become a devoted family member! No how, no way (he informs me) does Waffles want to be an outside dog! Can you find it in your heart to assist this fun-loving boy out the front door of the shelter and into a loving home

Story
We have had Oliver since he was just weeks old and he has always been such a loving pup. He was given to my daughter by a friend. He has always been an indoor dog and he was potty trained pretty easily. He is great with children, as long as we had him never had issues with him. He loves attention and for people to pet him. He is not a barker, only when he wants to get someone's attention or when he really needs to go potty. He has been around dogs but gets a bit nervous with bigger dogs. Although we marked him as a border collie, because that is what his paperwork says, he is mixed with another breed, not sure what it is. Our family loves Oliver, we are just in a different season in life and our family situation has changed. Our schedules have gotten pretty busy and my daughter has gone off to college. We have tried everything we can but we are at a point where we feel like he needs to be with someone who can attend to him and give him the love and care that he deserves.

Story
Hi! I'm Brody! I am in the DFW area in Texas. I haven’t had the best life and that’s why I’m sharing my story today with high hopes of finding me a new family. I had a family at one time but they moved and left me with their roommate. He didn’t like me so he put me outside where it was easy to escape. He was all I had and when he walked to work I would follow him and then cruise around town and wait for him to get off. I got pretty famous on fb and I would meet new doggie friends a long the way. People would feed me at all the restaurants and try to catch me but I kept thinking my new dad would want me sooner or later. One day a lady came to get me and I was eating out of her hand but then they came out and said that I was the manager’s dog. I really wanted to go with the lady but he said no he likes me walking with him to and from work. Some time passed and she came back. That day I was all over town! People were taking pics like I was a movie star! He told her she could have me! She took me straight to the vet to stay and then I got to go home. I had a few vet visits but now I am ready to start my new life with my own family. She said her house is just the step right before my furever home! So, long story short I am a friendly boy and I like other dogs and toys. I am neutered and UTD on everything plus I take a monthly pill to keep the heartworms away! The vet thinks I am about 2.5 years old and I weight about 26 pounds. I am house and crate trained. Plus, I will love you unconditionally forever! Please share me everywhere! Yours truly, Brody pawsomepalsrescue@yahoo.com https://www.pawsomepals.org/
