Story
Penny is about 4.5 years old. She needs someone who can give her lots of attention. She's good with kids and other dogs. She's loves getting pet non-stop and is prowling the house looking for crumbs or napping when she's not getting attention. We have an extremely busy household and new work schedule with pregnancy, we are unable to give her the attention she needs.

Story
Cody is a beautiful \ Labrador/Border Collie Mix. He adores belly rubs and outdoor adventures, especially rolling around in the green grass outside. The perfect home for Cody would be one that has outdoor space for him to enjoy with an active family that will enjoy being with him. We are not sure how he will do with young kids under 5, but older kids we anticipate will be a great energy match for him. Same for cats... we are not sure if he has been exposed to cats either. Right now Cody is fostered in a multi dog home. Cody has made friends with other dogs. Already neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped, Cody is ready for his new home.Cody is an older adult but still has many years to give for adventures and snuggles. If you are interested in meeting Cody at one of our events or a scheduled meet and greet all you need to do is fill out our online application.www.shelter2rescue.org If you are interested in fostering a pet , please visit our website www.shelter2rescue.org to fill out an application

Story
Meet Summer! Howdy, they call me Summer because I bring the sunshine, happiness and laughter to every party! I am 1 year old and I love like there is no tomorrow and am as gentle as you need me to be. When my foster family first said yes to me, they had zero clue just how sick I really was, because I showed as little as possible that side of me. And showed them nothing but the happy, grateful, playful side of me. If that gives you any idea of how laid back temperament wise I am. Ideally I would love to find an active family or adult who will give me endless car rides if they like, or all the cuddles and wiggly butt smiles they can take, or what ever adventure they may have in mind.I do have a lot of energy, but if you aren’t as energetic that is okay too! I LOVE CATCH!!!!! I light up when you throw a ball for me and I will come rushing back to drop the ball back near your feet. I am that girl! So have no fear of your lifestyle with me, as long as you can love me and throw me balls galore; we should be loving life to the fullest. I can’t wait to meet you and until then my foster mom and Nona are taking really good care of me. To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Kiwi is a super playful and smart girl. She even plays gently with smaller creatures like cats and rabbits. She is potty trained and has caught on quickly to simple commands like Sit and Stay. Kiwi is shy at first but quickly warms up. She was born 6/29/2019We got Kiwi & Peaches from the shelter as itty bitty pups, and soon found out that both of them had CHV (Canine Herpesvirus). Most puppies die at 2 weeks from this, however these two were fighters and besides runny noses here and there, are doing really well. They can have it the rest of their lifes and will be sick from time to time and because there is just not a lot documented on situations like this we have no idea what their future health could be. They should never be around puppies or attend public places or events.Included with adoption: Age-appropriate vaccinations, up to date heart-worm preventative, heart-worm test if over 6 months, microchip with registration, and spayed or neutered- if not already, a voucher is provided. If you are interested in adopting, please complete our Pre-application: https://form.jotform.us/asr628/ShortAdoptionInquiry

Story
Meet Luna! Luna is 2yo (36lbs) in need of a loving home. I have taken her to be thoroughly checked out by a vet - clean bill of health, fully vaccinated & is on flea/tick/heart worm prevention meds Luna has been a great mom! She’s very sweet, not food aggressive, I haven’t heard her bark once, she’s good with other dogs - shy at first but warms up quickly, you can touch her anywhere without any reaction. She’s hesitant being picked up but again you won’t get a reaction other than her naturally wanting to stay on the ground. She loves attention & being close & does fine in a kennel for a decent amount of hours. I can’t say she’s fully potty trained but since I’ve had her I let her roam freely inside my house & she hasn’t had an accident, I can open the door & she will handle her business outside. As of now she is no longer nursing, she is still lactating but her breast will shrink down in the next 3-5 weeks (per vet).

Story
Pecos is 2 years old. He is calm, cuddly, and friendly. He was previously a foster and gets along well with other animals. He loves to play and cuddle. He does get a bit of separation anxiety so someone who is home often or has a large and comfortable space for him to play in while away is perfect. Perfect for families or families with other dogs. Very much “man’s best friend” kind of dog. Loyal and very well trained.

Story
This was a stray we got from a neighbor and is a puppy with lots of energy and has demonstrated intelligence. Only issue has been a very strong predator instinct, and we are fine with her killing mice, rats, and trying to catch rabbits - but not our other non dog pets. She is very fast. I take her on daily walks and he she loves to play with other dogs and greet people, especially children. Still working on crate training her.
