Story
Champ is a fun loving dog with a personality as big as his ears—seriously, they could be goal posts for a football team! He loves chasing toys and, in true Champ fashion, will toss them in the air with pure joy. His playful nature shines when he’s with other dogs, always eager for fun. But he also has an affectionate side; and when you want to chill he’ll happily settle by your feet, content to chew on his favorite toy while staying close. Champ’s playful nature and loving heart make him a perfect friend to have by your side.   To learn more or to meet Champ call 281-339-2086 any day except Wednesday between 11AM and 5PM or you can fill in an app at https://bayareapetadoptions.org/adoption-application/ ##2196523##

Story
Border Collie lovers, meet Maxwell, a handsome and fun loving boy that loves to take walks and explore the surrounds.  He’s a smart dude always looking to please and knows some basic commands.  Seems he may believe in the extraterrestrial as he gave chase and captured our space ship with alien squeakers inside!  Max is two years old, just past that puppy stage, but has plenty of puppy enthusiasm for good times and lots of attention.  He’s a real sweetie and would love to be a new addition to your home. ##2216875##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. She is Xena The Warrior PrincessXena was born approximately July 15, 2021.  She is a GORGEOUS Border Collie/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix or Tri-Colored Rhodesian Ridgeback.  Her personality is true to her breed! Xena's foster mom and dad have 3 other dogs that she likes to play with and share toys with, but she has also learned to be by herself.  Her foster mom says she needs an active family with another dog or multiple dogs. Xena needs room to run to get her energy out.  She likes going for long walks and exploring the wilderness. Xena sleeps with her foster mom and dad in bed with all the other dogs. It gets a bit crowded but she does love sleeping with the pack. This makes her feel safe. Xena does not like to be in a kennel or crate.  So, a family that is at home would be ideal. She likes eating ice cubes!  Xena says 'When mom gives me fresh water in a bowl she puts in extra ice cubes for me. That makes me feel special and loved.'  Xena loves riding in a vehicle and knows not to jump around and act like a baby. She can walk on a leash pretty well as long as she has her harness on; Xena is not a fan of collars. She also knows a few commands like “stay”, “no” and “potty”.Xena will bark at strangers until she gets to know them.  Her foster dad has taught her to fetch.  She loves chasing the ball and bringing it back, it’s the letting it go part that she has a hard time with BECAUSE she also loves to play tug of war.  Xena is also a fan of the Laser Light.  She thinks they are fascinating!Xena is Special Needs because if and when she gets too excited she has seizures.  The vet attributes this to a blow to the head as a puppy.  Therefore, she needs to be in a home that understands how to deal with occasional seizures.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 25, 2024, 3:51 pm

Story
Walter is a border collie mix, he is three years old, and has so much love to give. He is a foster dog, who was set to be killed the day we fostered him. He is looking for a permanent home or else he may face euthenasia. He is the calmest dog I`ve ever been around, he`s so gentle with anyone he comes in contact with. He is loved by everyone who walks by him; always asking if they could pet him, praising his beauty and tranquility. At the same time, he also gets really happy and excited when you come home, and when he`s going for walks. He was shy at first and timid with his tail between his legs, but after only 2 or 3 days he has warmed up so much, with his tail up and wagging. He loves chewing on his bones, long walks, and a lot of attention and hugs. He will nestle up right into you, and loves to be by your side. He is intelligent and kind, and everyone who meets him loves him, we wish we could adopt him but we are college students and unfortunately can`t take him on full time. He would be the perfect addition to any home.  To meet me email BARCFoster@houstontx.gov

Story
Mikka is a 40 lb, spunky Border Collie mix. This girl is really loving life. She is a very sweet girl, but is a bit insecure(aren't we all). Mika would thrive with people that will help her learn and feel secure in the world. She enjoys meeting new people, going on car rides, and LOVES spending time outdoors. She loves her morning walks and has a favorite ball that we play fetch with in the yard. Mikka is super smart and catches on to new things quickly. She knows sit, down, to wait to come out of her crate before you say okay and listens super well when you ask her to crate up. She does okay with other dogs but is definitely on the defensive till she gets comfortable, She'd thrive the most as an only child. She needs an active family that will keep both her mind and body stimulated. She is slowly learning to be a great cuddler. Mikka is a very sweet girl and would be a great companion, she will love you with all her heart. She has a lot of herding instincts and would be great for working/sports/competition. She is also very fast. If you are looking to a buddy that’s always ready to go look no further than Mikka. To adopt Mikka, please apply at www.htxdogrescue.org.
