Story
She was a puppy from a friend’s mistake litter. The mom was a golden retriever and had gotten out. The dad is a border collie, but more than likely a border collie mix. Persephone is predominantly border collie. She needs routine, tasks, exercise. She’s territorial as well. I have not spayed her, but she is up to date with vaccines and heartworm/flea/tick medication. I have a one year old and a baby due soon. I can’t give her the attention and exercise she needs. She is amazing with children. My son is her baby. She is great with my family dogs, but not with stranger dogs. Severe anxiety. I don’t get out much so she is poorly socialized. She doesn’t bite but she will run. Barks. A lot.

Story
Hi, I'm Lucky!  I'm a petite 5-6 month old border collie mix.  I am a playful, joyous, energetic pup that loves to chase toys, run, bound, lean in for pets and get belly rubs.  I even do a happy dance when it's time for breakfast and dinner.  And, did I mention that I have the cutest markings in the world?  Hard to not love my little eye patches plus white feet and white tipped tail! I am very intelligent - Since being with my foster, I have learned to sit, lay down, and 'touch' for targeting.  I have made tremendous strides on leash, and while I'm not fully crate trained, I will go in for my food and wait quietly to go back out.  I was good for the vet in getting my shots and will be neutered Oct 22.  Unfortunately, I wasn't always so lucky and found myself dumped at a rural gas station, running up to every car hoping that they were my family.  So, I can be scared to go in a car, but once I'm loaded, I am a good passenger.  November 7, 2024, 6:12 pm

Story
Rachel - Border Collie/Lab mix - Female - 4.5 yrs - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Rachel: this gorgeous 4.5-year-old Border Collie Lab has returned to us as her needs and her families availability simply grew apart, like it happens sometimes. Rather than fitting a square peg into a round hole, it was determined that Rachel would be happier in a home that can more closely fit her needs. Rachel likes to have something to do, either playing with a toy or one of her dog friends or going for a walk. She seems to have a permanent smile on her face, and loves attention. She can be a little sneaky and will find unsecured garbage cans and unattended food - as she is very smart. She fine with relaxing with her pack after some playtime. Rachel is fine with most other dogs - she can be a little slow on picking up subtle social cues form other dogs ("I don't want to play right now" - "OK, how about now" 5 seconds later...) so tolerant dogs are the easiest fit, and while she is pretty easily corrected and redirect, you may have to repeat yourself a few times for her to believe you. She does want to please her humans and loves to cuddle. Rachel does not like to be left alone, and is looking for a home where someone is home a lot and can devote time and energy to her exercise, training and give her the attention and affection she craves. Some dogs handle changes easily, Rachel is not one of them, so an experienced and patience handler is preferred. Rachel would do best in a home with another dog or more than one, she loves kids, is house trained, but does not like to be alone and is not a fan of the crate. She can be crated and is currently crated, albeit in a rather high security crate. She is highly food motivated, which is great for training, is fine in the car, her leash training could use some fine tuning, but she is making great progress and has attended numerous group classes with her trainer with great success. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet, as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets***

Story
Meg is 3 years old and weighs about 40 pounds. She’s a good mix of chill and playful . She loves belly rubs and tossing her own toys in the air. She loves the water. She is house-trained and crate-trained. She would prefer to be the only pet because she is very bossy to other animals and that doesnt make it easy for her to make friends with other pets. She does live with cats mostly peacefully but every once in a while gets a wild idea and chases them and gets scratched on the nose. She loves to lay on the porch or look out the windows to watch the trees. She spent her entire puppyhood in a foster home with many many other dogs and basically lived in a crate. She still has a lot to learn about manners but she wants to please you. She can be slow to trust new people (growls at intruders) which is why we think No Children is also best - but has never snapped or bitten. She would be such a fantastic partner for a young single person looking for a bestie.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Honey is a 5 months old beautiful puppyy that we think is a mix of Austrailian Cattle Dog and Jack Russell.  She loves to run and play with other dogs.  She is calm and obedient around cats. Honey in her previous life of crime… was found stealing bread at the Dollar General, and the doggie police were on their way!  Luck was with her as her foster mom quickly loaded up her and her brother into the getaway car. She’s now rehabilitated and attending Puppy Prep School at Petco while waiting on her new forever family to find her.  She loves to cuddle with the other dogs in her foster home and there is no such thing as to close.  Be sure and check out her pictures below to see her cuddling with them.  She was one of the stars at our Doggies & Divas event on October 7th and won the Chippendogs contest getting the most dollar bills on her dance around the tables. We have a few pictures below of her modeling a couple of her outfits at the event.  If you think sweet little Honey is a good match for you please click on the Adoption Application icon above and fill it out so we can set up a time for you to come and meet Honey in person to see if she is a good match for you.  Thank you for considering one of our rescue pets.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 3:34 pm
