Story
Meet Indiana (Indy), a most handsome blend of Shepherd and Border Collie! True to his heritage, Indy is highly intelligent and very athletic. He relishes physical activity such as romping in the play yards and hiking the trails with his favorite volunteers. His happy energy is boundless; he is a perfect workout buddy for someone who loves to run and exercise outdoors! Here are some glowing notes his foster family shared with us: "Indiana is such a sweet and affectionate boy! The way he belly crawls into our laps and gives full-body hugs just melts our hearts. Indy is extremely smart and easy to teach, and has already mastered basic commands like "come and "sit. He is potty-trained, sleeps quietly all night in his kennel, and he has lovely house manners. This handsome boy plays so nicely with other dogs, he and his PAWS foster brother (Theo) have so much fun together! Indy just adores people, he is instant friends with adults and kids alike. A cool thing about Indy is that even though he is part Border Collie, he has no desire whatsoever to herd or chase our livestock. You can see in the photos he wanders peacefully around our horses like they aren't even there. He would do great as a family pet or a farm dog, he is such a good boy! INDY gets serious "wiggle-booty" when excited and mimics the movements of a sssssnake!

Story
Hello friends meet, Banana Slipper! Banana was first spotted at the end of April in far southwest Austin, near Dripping Springs. Neighbors stated that it appeared she was abandoned there. She stayed for several days and eluded all attempts to rescue her, then disappeared. One of the children who had been keeping eyes on her affectionately dubbed her Banana Slipper. Why? Because she’s “slippery like a banana and goes missing like your favorite slipper.” A month later and 22 miles away, the slippery Banana reappeared. Our team immediately began plans to secure her. True to her namesake she was slippery and a difficult gal to secure but we succeeded. Understandably, because of what she has experienced she can be a bit on the fearful side and will need an adopter who is willing to be patient with her. However, she has excelled so much with the help of her fosters! They report that Banana is learning to trust more every day and is extremely sweet and smart! She is very curious and pays attention to everything going on around her. She loves going on leashed walks and hikes and adores being in the water. She has recently learned "regular" dog traits and discovered how fun playing with toys can be! Banana also is learning to love going hiking! The ideal adopter for this beautiful gal would have a flexible schedule. Banana is crate trained but, she prefers to not be alone for long periods of time. She would also do better having a confident sibling dog who can continue to show her she is safe.

Story
Hi, my name is Milo! I was recently found on a country road, possibly abandoned, with a broken arm. Ive been healing my broken arm with my foster family for over a month. I am ready to find my forever home. A little about me... I'm a puppy, maybe less than a year old, Collie mix, I love other pups - especially nice ones, I am kind natured, silly, loving and very affectionate. Giving kisses and staring into peoples eyes is a favorite way to spend my day. Theres a dog nextdoor that i've made friends with through the fence, did I mention I really want a pup friend? I'm being fostered in a home with 4 cats and dont know how I feel about cats, I could use training. Were looking for an active home, with space to roam + play, another loving dog is a plus. A family that can support me as I continue to heal my leg. My fosters love me dearly and will be ensuring I go to the best home possible, they know me so well! If you think I could be your partner for life, please reach out(:

Story
Onyx is a 5 year old black lab mix that we adopted from the ACC about a year ago. She is sweet, empathetic, and protective. She loves to cuddle with her humans and give lots of kisses. Her original owners report that she was attacked by a larger dog resulting in reactivity to other dogs. She will lunge at dogs, cats, birds, and people she perceives as dangerous while on a walk: that said, she has made huge strides in her recall and leash walking with consistent training, which needs to be continued. Onyx loves to take long walks and play fetch in the backyard! She's very well house-trained and knows basic commands. She likes meeting new people, but can be over-excited easily. Onyx needs to be the only pet in a low-traffic, adults-only household. We have worked hard to get her comfortable with living with the other dog in our household, but have not been successful, with her resource guarding getting worse in recent months. We can no longer keep them living together safely.

Story
Maisee is approximately an 8-year-old dog. Maisee was rescued off the street about in 2017 and a couple of months later she was adopted by me and shes lived with me ever since. Maisee is a very energetic dog for better or worse though I believe a lot of the negatives of her being high-energy are due to her not having the best person to play with her(me). Maisee doesn't have a history of not playing well with other dogs and she hasn't been around cats. She knows most of the basic commands and when I worked with her more she listened very well. I'm sure someone with a pocket full of treats and patience could help her become a nicely trained dog. I unfortunately no longer enjoy having a dog and I really hoping to find her a home with someone who enjoys spending time with her and can give her the affection she deserves.
