Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. She is Xena The Warrior PrincessXena was born approximately July 15, 2021.  She is a GORGEOUS Border Collie/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix or Tri-Colored Rhodesian Ridgeback.  Her personality is true to her breed! Xena's foster mom and dad have 3 other dogs that she likes to play with and share toys with, but she has also learned to be by herself.  Her foster mom says she needs an active family with another dog or multiple dogs. Xena needs room to run to get her energy out.  She likes going for long walks and exploring the wilderness. Xena sleeps with her foster mom and dad in bed with all the other dogs. It gets a bit crowded but she does love sleeping with the pack. This makes her feel safe. Xena does not like to be in a kennel or crate.  So, a family that is at home would be ideal. She likes eating ice cubes!  Xena says 'When mom gives me fresh water in a bowl she puts in extra ice cubes for me. That makes me feel special and loved.'  Xena loves riding in a vehicle and knows not to jump around and act like a baby. She can walk on a leash pretty well as long as she has her harness on; Xena is not a fan of collars. She also knows a few commands like “stay”, “no” and “potty”.Xena will bark at strangers until she gets to know them.  Her foster dad has taught her to fetch.  She loves chasing the ball and bringing it back, it’s the letting it go part that she has a hard time with BECAUSE she also loves to play tug of war.  Xena is also a fan of the Laser Light.  She thinks they are fascinating!Xena is Special Needs because if and when she gets too excited she has seizures.  The vet attributes this to a blow to the head as a puppy.  Therefore, she needs to be in a home that understands how to deal with occasional seizures.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 25, 2024, 3:51 pm

Story
Champ is a fun loving dog with a personality as big as his ears—seriously, they could be goal posts for a football team! He loves chasing toys and, in true Champ fashion, will toss them in the air with pure joy. His playful nature shines when he’s with other dogs, always eager for fun. But he also has an affectionate side; and when you want to chill he’ll happily settle by your feet, content to chew on his favorite toy while staying close. Champ’s playful nature and loving heart make him a perfect friend to have by your side.   To learn more or to meet Champ call 281-339-2086 any day except Wednesday between 11AM and 5PM or you can fill in an app at https://bayareapetadoptions.org/adoption-application/ ##2196523##

Story
Max is a very shy but very sweet boy. He prefers the company of other dogs as he came from a hoarding situation. He loves walks, treats, is a champion eater, and is house trained. He’s very quiet but very observant. As you can see, he’s got the prettiest eyes and would love to join your family. Won’t you give this timid boy a chance to be a pet companion? My husband and I have been fostering Max for three weeks, and he has come such a long way from the day we brought him home. He is still frightened, especially of doorways, fast movements, and being touched, but he makes great strides every single day. Some of his favorite things to do are to run and play with our dog. It took a week for him to figure it out, but once he got the hang of it, we can hardly get him inside because he is having so much fun being a dog. He also enjoys stealing toys and treats and taking them all to his bed and hoarding them. He gets along well with both dogs, is making friends with the cats, and isn’t interested a bit in chasing the chickens. He looks deep into your eyes with his beautiful blue eyes and wants to be a regular dog, and he is becoming that every day. An ideal home for him would be with another dog he can run and play with, he seems to gain confidence being around her.Check out Max enjoying play time! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W1T7yA6nMZkhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzDwRWdkGs8

Story
Mikka is a 40 lbs, spunky Border Collie mix. This girl is really loving life. She is a very sweet girl, but is still uncertain about a lot of things so she needs people that will help her learn and feel secure in the world. She enjoys meeting new people, going on car rides, and LOVES spending time outdoors. She loves her morning walks and has a favorite ball that we play fetch with in the yard. She is young with a lot of energy and needs positive training. Mikka is very smart and catches on to new things quickly. She knows sit and down, but we’re still working on stay and her leash walking is coming along really well. She does well with other dogs that can handle her energy, but does require slow introductions, she would love to have a playmate. She needs an active family that will keep both her mind and body stimulated. She is slowly learning to be a great cuddler. Mikka is a very sweet girl and would be a great companion, she will love you with all her heart. She has a lot of herding instincts and would be great for working/sports/competition. She is also very fast. If you are looking to a buddy that’s always ready to go look no further than Mikka. To adopt Mikka, please apply at www.htxdogrescue.org.
