Story
Great chance to own a border collie who already has some manors and house broken, fully health tested and clear. Vet checked, microchipped, 11 months old. He would be ideal for a family that wants an independent dog or an active family that loves to play ball. He’s on the shyer side, so may need some work in that area. Serious inquiries only, we can set up a time to talk further about him. Neuter would be required after adoption is finalized.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Java is the sweetest boy who was rescued from the Memphis euthanasia room with just moments to spare. This little guy is eager to please and is a true people pleaser! He does great in his crate when his people are around and will settle down quietly after a bit of initial crying when they leave. Java loves playing with his foster siblings and has even made valiant attempts to befriend the cats by offering his blankets and toys—though they haven’t quite caught on to the idea of tug of war! He’s incredibly gentle and takes treats with the utmost care. While he’s still learning to walk on a leash, his food motivation makes him a quick study for training. Java is house-trained and crate-trained, as long as he’s promptly taken outside upon your return. Although he gets a bit distracted when someone is nearby during potty time, he’ll wait until he’s alone to do his business. . He’s the perfect size for cuddling in or near your lap and is usually able to get up on the couch by himself. This lovable pup is guaranteed to occupy every corner of your heart. Java would thrive in any home, especially one with children or another dog-friendly pet.   Medical Notes: Neutered Microchipped Vaccinated Heartworm negative Maintained on monthly preventatives Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 6:28 pm

Story
Friendly Finn is a lucky dog.  You know one of those who was in a really bad shelter that was run by lazy people who didn’t care if any of the dogs got out alive.  He is a handsome and very friendly Border Collie/Pointer mix that is truly a good looking dog who is about 3 years old, fully vetted, 35 pounds and was at the shelter for 2 years.  TRUTH!   How awful that this beautiful soul was there in that dirty place and in the tiny kennel run with another dog. He wasn’t fed much and he is lucky to have survived the torture of that specific shelter.   Friendly is a good word for Finn since he is good with other dogs and kids unknown.  He is surprisingly very good on a leash, but his nerves can get the best of him when riding in a car.  He might need a little medication till he gets used to riding.  Finn needs a big yard or maybe daily trips to a dog park.  We want him to live a life that is not limited as he has experienced these past 2+ years in the shelter.  If you are interested in Fostering or Adopting Finn please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 3, 2024, 10:10 pm

Story
I am Holly! I am currently being fostered in Nashville, TN and I’m looking for my furever home. I am a Border Collie mix, about 14 months old and weighing approximately 50 lbs. I am spayed, microchipped, and fully up-to-date on shots. I was found on a dirt road along a small lake near Crossville, TN and had been living in the woods for several weeks when I was rescued. I have the sweetest demeanor. I am crate trained and it is my safest space where I take refuge at all times. I prefer to take my meals in my crate. If you leave the house and I’m in my crate, I’ll be just fine. I love retrieving all my toys from around the house to collect them in my crate. I even borrow from my siblings but it's all in fun and I have not shown aggression when sharing food or toys. I know how to “sit” very well, even when running at full speed! I know basic commands including down, kennel, leave it, off, and stay. I will be very sweet, but it might take a little time for me to warm up to my new home as I am sensitive. I prefer to get to know a few small spaces very well and have a predictable routine. When walking on a leash, I get scared and pull to return home. I know with some training and consistency, I’ll overcome this! I am frightened by outdoor noises, and large machinery & equipment. My confidence has been growing since I got to spend three months living with a professional trainer who found me, and I learned so much! I have zoomies right after my meals, and enjoy lounging for the rest of the day. My foster family has a fenced yard and keeps an eye on me at all times. One of my favorite things each day is being brushed. I’m afraid of the outside and its noises scare me. I prefer being indoors and often need my ‘brave leash’ on to go to the bathroom outside. I prefer to be accompanied to my same spot. If you leave me alone outside, I might try to dig a hole. But most likely, I will come sit at the door asking to come inside. I like blankets so much that I will shred them or any type of bedding or cloth, including stuffed animals, if given the chance. I enjoy chewing on my durable rubber toys, bones, and Himalayan chews. I sometimes like to watch TV if it isn’t too loud. My former foster mom would take me to dog parks without incident. I easily go to the vet and groomer, so I must have had prior familiarity with these spaces. I am not afraid of cars and ride well in the car. I get along with my current foster brother but I tend to rough house sometimes. I’ve met a few cats and children and liked them. I try to avoid situations with lots of new things or people. I enjoy alone time and will need an owner who is patient and experienced in training to help me be the best companion I can be. I will need a reliable routine and the opportunity to play positive reward/training games every day to continue building my confidence. Please submit your application to welcome sweet Holly to her furever home! https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee whic includes registration and transfer to my new furever family.

Story
We have welcomed 'Quinn' to the Heart in Hand Family! We believe he is a Border Collie/Heeler Mix, about 2/3 years old. In such a short time, he has shown us what a little gentlemen he is! Friendly with everyone, submissive with other dogs, as he just wants to play! Seems ok around cats - he ignores them for the most part - unless they hiss and run then its 'tag your it' haha! He also seems good around other farm animals - doesn't pay attention to chickens or goats! He only wants to play with his doggies friends and be with a person. We need to work on leash training and basic commands which we started yesterday! He is very bright and has already started to get the gist of what we are asking from him! Just a wonderful lil' spirit! We just know he is going make such a wonderful addition to his new family! Quinn will be UTD on vacinations, microchipped and neutered before adoption! https://www.heartinhandcrittersrescue.com If you are interested in meeting this sweet boy, please fill out our online adoption application: https://form.jotform.com/83004164874153

Story
Meet Domino! Hey ya'll, I'm Domino! I am spunky, happy, fun, and did I mention adorable? I'm some sort of heeler mix, and I was born around the end of 2021. I weigh about 50lbs, but in my head I'm just a little guy! I love making friends, but I'm also totally happy to just have a close friend or two I spend most of my time with. I came to the shelter after this guy in a uniform picked me up one day, it was really scary! I didn't want anything to do with these people who cleaned my kennel for a few days, but after they kept bringing me treats and toys, I gave in and decided I liked them after all. I can still be a little slower to trust brand new faces, but bring me a tennis ball and we can be besties for sure! I also like having other dogs around, but I need to meet them before I agree to live with them. I'm not really a big fan of cats, so a family without them is better for me.  Domino is fully vetted, and microchipped, but not yet neutered. His adoption fee is $175 + a refundable $75 neuter deposit.  Interested? Call 615-446-7387.  ##1908085##

Story
Meet Daisy May and Dixie!  These two sweet loves are searching for the perfect place to live out their lives together. These lovely girls have been together since they were just little puppies, and are practically joined at the hip! Daisy and Dixie sport equally soft and puffy coats, and they both are eager to find a home to give them all the love they deserve. These ladies were adopted from us back in 2022 as pups, but sadly their family's life evolved and they were no longer suited to the home. Now, they are back with us and we get to see what lovely girls they grew up to be!  Dixie is a medium-sized Australlian Shepherd mix, she was born 08/19/2022. We originally met Miss Dixie when she was just a couple of weeks old, back in the late summer of 2022. Her and her litter of siblings were found dumped in a tote at a gas station in the outskirts of Dickson. Back then, she went by Loretta Lynn, but we think Dixie suits her just fine. Dixie can be a little slower to warm up to new faces than her soul-sister Daisy, but give her an extra moment and let her see Daisy May getting loved on and she warms up just the same. Dixie has every bit of intelligence you would expect from her breed, she knows her name and basic commands like "sit".  Daisy May and Dixie both do well with other dogs, but as always we require meet and greet if you already have any dogs in the home. They have not recently been tested with cats, but they do well with children. They are both fully vetted and spayed. Their adoption fee is $175. Interested? Give us a call at 615-446-7387.  ##1552150##
