Story
Gancho is a very affectionate border collie that we have had for four months after he was abandoned by his previous owner. He has been great with loud kids and chaos, was quick to train on our electric fence, is very eager to train, doesn’t have accidents inside, friendly as can be, and does well with our other dogs. He has no food aggression, but thinks cats are food. Outside he runs, inside is chill. We are unsure of what happened to him with the previous owner, but he has had several instances where he has snapped at us seeming scared. Specific examples: my husband touched his ear while he was relaxed on the couch and he snapped at him. I was smelling him after he came inside and he snapped at me. Both times he responded well to a firm no and came back to snuggle, but with the number of people in our house, we don’t feel we can take the risk. He would do well in a family more experienced with rescues than we are. We love him dearly and want to make sure he has the home he deserves.

Story
Hi, I`m Samantha!I am all about fun and snuggles. I have a lot of wiggles, and I have to get them out! After the wiggles are out, I want to cuddle and just be near you. I would love to live with people and dogs who will play with me and keep me company and let me be part of the pack. I’m ok meeting new people who are calm with me, but I can be a little shy at first. I like to eat, but I don’t eat much at a time. I do love snacks, particularly if they are crunchy! I like my chew toys and I’m a strong chewer for my size. Head rubs and chin rubs are the best things EVER!I want to do things right, but I don’t understand it all yet. I’m working on my house training, and I know I’ll get it right if everybody is patient and consistent with me. I’m very curious and sometimes stick my nose where it doesn’t belong. I’m also learning that not everything is a toy. If you just correct me gently I’ll keep getting better. All I really want is lots of playtime and lots of love. And snacks. I want snacks. My adoption fee of $300 includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. Plus, a microchip that is already registered to you! What more could you ask for?If you`d like to meet me, please fill out an application on our website, PawmettoLifeline.org. Adoptions are by appointment Tuesday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday are walk in from 10-5. Please fill out the online application, and you will be contacted if you are approved and are a good fit for one of our adoptable pets.
