Story
Hi everyone I'm Snoopy! I'm a 4-month-old Border Collie mix. I am vaccinated and neutered when old enough. I am one exuberant pup that can play all day! I love to be around all sorts of people; any attention I can receive keeps me happy! I've established that I'm well potty trained and currently being taught to sit, stay and paw! I am a very ambitious learner, especially when there is food involved. I walk well on leash, and it is very important that I get my activity as I am an energetic breed. I get along well with other dogs, and I'm always eager to make friends with everyone. I may potentially be about 45 pounds full grown. I'd be a lovely addition to any family!

Story
Now accepting applications for Zoey! Zoey is a 6 month old female border collie/blue heeler mix. (born May 24/24) She is playful spirit with a heart full of love! This sweet girl is looking for a family who can keep up with her energy and appreciate her friendly, adventurous nature. If you are interested in meeting Zoey please go to our website at www.mjhs.ca and click the Adopt tab, then Adoptable Animals and scroll to her beautiful face to submit your application. Once your application has been approved we will contact you to come spend some time with Zoey to be sure she is the right fit for you. If after meeting her you decide she is not the puppy for you, there is no obligation to complete the adoption process. We look forward to hearing from you! Zoey is a bundle of joy and energy! She's intelligent, eager to learn, and always ready for her next adventure. Zoey loves spending time with people and thrives on both playtime and affection. Her herding instincts make her a great candidate for a home that understands active breeds. Zoey would do best in a home with space to run and explore, and with a family who can keep her mentally and physically stimulated. She's great with kids, but needs to learn to keep all 4 on the floor when meeting them making her a wonderful companion for families, and she's comfortable around cats. She might chase a cat if it ran but would never hurt one. Zoey is a young pup with lots of energy, so she'll need regular exercise and training to help her grow into the best version of herself. A family who understands the needs of her breed mix will be ideal to ensure she stays happy and balanced. Zoey's adoption fee is $300. She is started on her vaccination schedule and microchipped. Story
Leela always has a big smile on her face and when she wags her tail, her whole body moves. Leela is a happy and loyal companion. She is an energetic and praise seeking dog. She's very endearing and loveable. Leela is a free spirit who loves to be outside. Our best guess on age is approximately 5 years and best guess on breed is border collie/shepherd mix. She's a good 'helper' - she will follow you around as you do your chores in the yard. She is not overly big, being a medium sized dog, and came to the Shelter with an eye injury. As a result her eye was removed by the caring staff at Lakeland Vet. Leela has a border collie's personality - she would prefer an active lifestyle outdoors. She does not like to be inside too much, so it would be great if she could have a large yard or live in the country and have the ability to engage in play or work all day, even if that is just careful monitoring of the perimeter ;) She absolutely requires a good fence though, due to her wandering ways and escape artist tendencies. Leela is very very good with children. She loves cats and other dogs, but as a border collie mix, she does have a strong herding instinct which needs to be kept in check. She responds really well to praise and is very trainable. Her fosters call her 'Lovely Leela' and say she is precious. As with all of our pets available for adoption, Leela is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Please consider adopting Leela and providing her a loving home she well deserves.
