Story
Quick Facts Name: Kiko Age: 3 years old Gender: Male Neutered: Yes Breed: Border Collie Mix Colour: White & Black Weight: 17kg Height: 60 cm (to the shoulder when standing on all fours) My Story I'm Kiko, a sweet and resilient 3-year-old Border Collie mix with a heart full of love and a spirit that shines as brightly as my black-and-white coat. I'm a handsome, medium-sized boy weighing 17 kg (37 lbs), standing about 60 cm tall at the shoulder. My journey hasn't been without challenges-I was found in 2021 with a suspected hip fracture from a car accident. Despite this, I was described as "beautiful, gentle, and patient" in the shelter records. My hip healed on its own, and now I'm healthy, neutered, and ready to find my forever family. I've come a long way, and my loving personality has only grown stronger. My Personality I'm a friendly, social pup who loves everyone I meet! Whether you're a familiar face or someone new, I'll greet you with a wagging tail and maybe even lean in for a cuddle. I'm gentle and patient with kids, making me a great companion for families. If you pick me up or scratch my belly, I'm all yours-I'll happily roll over to show my trust and affection. My calm, affectionate nature makes me a joy to have around. My Social Side I'm a social butterfly with dogs too! I enjoy meeting new canine friends, especially those around my size, and I'm polite and playful when saying hello. If another dog gets too pushy, I prefer to steer clear rather than engage in any drama. While I haven't had much experience with cats, my easygoing and adaptable personality suggests I could learn to coexist peacefully with them. I'm a well-mannered, harmonious companion for both people and pets. My Energy Level & Walks I have a moderate energy level that makes me the perfect balance of active and relaxed. I love outdoor activities like walks and playtime, but I settle down nicely afterward and enjoy relaxing by your side. While I may pull on the leash a little, I'm eager to follow my human and learn new things. My Border Collie roots shine through in my intelligence and loyalty-I'm a quick learner who thrives on interaction and connection. After a good walk or play session, I'm ready for some quiet downtime at home. More About Me I'm a calm, adaptable dog with a heart of gold. I rarely bark unless there's a reason, and I don't guard my food, making me an easygoing addition to any household. I'm well-trained with potty habits and comfortable using both indoor pads and going outside. My gentle nature, intelligence, and social personality mean I'll fit in just about anywhere, whether you're looking for an active partner or a laid-back companion. Last Message If you're ready to welcome a loyal, loving friend into your home, I'm here to be the perfect companion. I can't wait to meet my forever family and start this exciting new chapter of my life! Videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=THpkskYlAMA&list=PLIsLTtIpe3Jwn36sUaqG732b_1wX00ipu ##2261001##

Story
Quick Facts  Name: Nellie Age: 6 months old (born June 2024) Gender: Female Neutered/Spayed: Yes Breed: Border Collie Color: White & Black Weight: 10 kg   My Personality Hi, I’m Nellie! I’m a young and lively Border Collie girl, born in June 2024, with a beautiful black-and-white coat and weighing about 10 kg (22 lbs). I was rescued from a high-risk situation in Masan, and now I’m ready to start a new chapter with a loving family. I’m still a puppy, so I’m full of energy and curiosity, but I’ve got a heart of gold and a quick mind that’s eager to learn. I’m a friendly, affectionate pup who warms up to people quickly – I’ll happily approach strangers and lean in for pets. In just an hour or two, I’ll show my trust by rolling over to expose my belly! I have a sweet, gentle side, but I’m also still learning the ropes of life, so I sometimes get a little excited. I adore my humans more than anything and love being by your side. I’m a fast learner! My love for food makes me especially motivated when it comes to training. I’ve already picked up commands like “sit” and “wait” with ease, and I’m eager to learn even more. I respond quickly to corrections, so gentle guidance goes a long way with me.   My Social Side I’m a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs! I greet both familiar and new pups with enthusiasm, and I’m always ready for some fun. I don’t play favorites when it comes to size or breed – I just like making friends. That said, I prefer spending quality time with my people most of all. When it comes to food, I’m still learning to share. If another dog gets too close to my meal, I might let out a little growl to remind them it’s mine. It’s something we’re working on, and I’m already showing progress!   My Energy Level & Walks Like most young Border Collies, I’m energetic and playful, so I need plenty of outdoor activity to keep me happy and calm. I love exploring and stretching my legs, but once I’ve had my fill of playtime, I settle down quietly for a nap. Even though I’m still new to walks, I’m doing really well! I don’t pull too much on the leash and tend to look back at my human for reassurance. I’m a natural at matching your pace, so I’ll make a great walking buddy as I continue to grow.   My Daily Routine I’m currently learning about indoor manners. I use outdoor potty spaces very well, but I’m still figuring out how to use potty pads indoors. I sometimes think pads are for playing instead of doing my business, but don’t worry – I’m a quick learner, and with some patience, I’ll get the hang of it!   Last Message I’m a bright, happy puppy who just wants to make you smile. I’m quick to trust, eager to please, and already showing signs of becoming an incredibly well-behaved companion. Whether it’s learning new tricks, going for walks, or just being by your side, I’ll bring endless love and fun into your home.If you’re looking for a sweet, intelligent pup with a lot of energy and even more love to give, I might just be your perfect match! Let’s grow together, and I promise to be your loyal, loving friend for life.    Videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBU8EW67w-U&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JyW8Rnp-36djl4yjNv8diN7 ##2255717##

Story
My name is Kevin and I'm a male 2-years-old Jindo mix and I've been on quite the journey. I hail from the countryside, where I was born alongside my siblings after our mother gave birth. Unfortunately, we were left abandoned and found ourselves in a shelter. Life in the shelter has been a bit challenging for me, making it take a little time for me to adapt to new surroundings. I might seem a bit shy at first, but give me a day or two, and you'll see how quickly I warm up. I love getting attention and am not shy about asking for some cuddles and affection. I've made friends with other dogs here, so you can bet that our introduction will be filled with friendly greetings and playful antics. While I might not be a pro at walks just yet, I'm cool with quiet places. Loud noises can be a bit overwhelming for me, causing me to flatten myself on the ground. If you're looking for a calm companion who enjoys a nice stroll and some relaxation afterward, I'm your girl. I may have a burst of energy, but after a good walk, I'm more than happy to chill and relax. Sudden loud noises might make me jumpy, but with a patient and understanding friend like you, I know I'll become more confident. I'm ready to embark on a new adventure with a loving family or individual. Could that be you? I can't wait to bring some joy, loyalty, and a wagging tail into your life! Story
Quick Facts Name: Damon Age: Estimated 7 months Gender: Male Neutered: Yes Breed: Border Collie mix Color: Black and white Weight: 12.5 kg Height: 48 cm (to the shoulder when standing on all fours) Health o Vaccinations: Up-to-date, including rabies and comprehensive vaccinations. o Heartworm Test: Negative (tested in July 2024). My Story Hello! I'm Damon, a lively and clever Border Collie mix who's always ready for an adventure. My story began on a tough note-I was found lying weak and dehydrated on the streets. Thankfully, kind people noticed me and brought me to safety, where I was nursed back to health. Since then, I've blossomed into a strong, happy pup, and now I'm ready to find a family who's as enthusiastic about life as I am! My Social Side True to my Border Collie roots, I'm full of energy and love to play. Whether it's chasing after toys, playing tug, or running in wide-open spaces, I'm in my element when I get to move and explore. I also enjoy playing with my dog friends, and while I can be a little rambunctious, it's all in good fun! I'm happiest with buddies who don't mind my playful style, but I know how to be gentle when the situation calls for it. When it comes to people, I might be a little shy at first-especially around younger children who make sudden moves-but once I get comfortable, I warm up quickly and enjoy gentle pets and attention. I even don't mind being picked up into a cozy hug! I've also been practicing my manners and obedience skills in a training program, where I'm impressing everyone with my intelligence and eagerness to learn. My Energy Level & Walks My energy level is pretty high, so outdoor adventures are essential for me to burn off steam. After a good play session or a nice walk, though, I settle down happily and relax. On walks, I can get a bit excited and pull on the leash, but I respond well to gentle guidance. I'm naturally focused on my human, so with a little training, I'm sure I'll be a great walking buddy. More About Me As for my routine, I'm a big fan of outdoor bathroom breaks, and I'm learning about scent marking when in new places-it's just my way of saying hello! I'm pretty quiet at home and rarely bark, but I might give a little yip if I want something. Last Message Overall, I'm looking for an experienced family, ideally one who understands Border Collies or active, intelligent dogs like me. I'll thrive in a home where I can get plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation, as well as consistent guidance. With my smarts, boundless energy, and loving personality, I'm eager to be someone's loyal and playful companion. Could you be the one to give me my forever home? Story
Hi there! I'm Joy! I'm a lovely 3-year-old Border Collie mix with a beautiful black and white coat. I weigh 11 kg, making me the perfect size for all kinds of adventures! My Story: I was rescued just in time from a kill center, and now I'm looking for my forever home where I can share all my love and joy. My Personality: I'm very affectionate and love to rub against people, whether I know them or not. I'm always ready for some pets! You can lift me by putting your arm under my belly. I'm easy to handle! Once I get to know you, I'll happily show you my belly. It's my way of saying I trust you! I love meeting new dogs and always ask them to play. I'm a friendly girl! I might need a bit of caution when meeting new dogs for the first time, especially if toys or snacks are involved. When I see a cat during a walk, I stay focused on my human. Cats don't distract me! I enjoy outdoor activities and have a normal energy level. After a fun time outside, I like to rest quietly. I tend to pull on the leash a bit, but I generally follow my human well. I don't guard my food against people, but I might growl if another dog approaches me while I'm eating. I'm very calm in a kennel and know how to get in and out of a car by myself. I generally only do my business outside. Fun Facts: I'm people-friendly and get along with strangers easily. I used to guard resources, but I'm much better now. My new family should be firm when giving me snacks or toys. I might try to bite a stranger's hand if I'm in a kennel, but that's because I was traumatized while moving to a training center. I don't show any behavior issues at the training center, but I might need some time to adjust in a new place. I'm looking for a loving home where I can continue to grow and share my affection. If you think we could be a perfect match, please come meet me! ##2260916##

Name: RedBreed: Australian Cattle Dog MixAge: 10 yearsGender: MaleSize: Medium (25 kg)About Red:Red is a spirited 10-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix who proves that age is just a number! True to his breed’s reputation, Red is highly intelligent, loyal, and full of energy. He’s a social butterfly who loves people and enjoys leisurely walks, making him an ideal companion for someone who values an active lifestyle. Red adores playing in water and still has plenty of pep in his step despite being a bit older. He’s house-trained, food-motivated, and loves showing off his smarts.Ideal Home:Red would thrive in a home with a large property or outdoor space to explore—he likely has farm dog roots. While he loves people, younger kids (under 12) aren’t recommended due to his reluctance to being grabbed at unexpectively. Red would do best as the only pet in the home, as he’s dog-selective. He’s looking for a family who can appreciate his zest for life and keep him active with hikes or other outdoor adventures.Training and Skills:Red walks nicely on a leash and is house-trained. His keen intelligence and love of food make him a quick learner, so he’s ready to pick up new tricks or routines in his forever home.Favourites:Loves splashing around in waterEnjoys food puzzles or any activity involving treatsHiking and adventuresBeing with peopleDislikes:Does not like his collar grabbed or hind end touchedMay not tolerate younger children wellHealth Information:Red is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and had a dental in November. He’s in great health for his age and ready for a lifetime of adventures.Adoption Fee:Senior Adoption $200– This includes vaccinations, microchipping, neutering, and recent dental work.Additional Notes:Red has no known history before arriving as a stray in September, but he’s proven to be a loving and active companion. A fenced yard or large property would make him happiest, and he’s eager to find a forever home that matches his lively personality. Red would make a fantastic hiking buddy and lifelong friend. How to Adopt: If you’re interested in adopting, please visit us at 107 McLaughlin Road, Lindsay, Tuesday to Sunday, 11 am-6 pm, contact us by email info@hskl.ca or phone at 705-878-4618.
