Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.MOLASSES hails from Moose Lake in Northern Manitoba and came down south to find her forever family. She’s spayed, vaccinated including rabies and microchipped. We have no knowledge of her parents so the breeds we have her listed as are merely a guess based on the breeds she looks like. She’s just the sweetest little lady and she loves to cuddle up with you and will try and sit on your lap too. She’s pretty laid back and has a low energy level so would definitely suit a quiet home with a retired couple or one with someone who works from home.  MOLASSES is house trained and also crate trained and will sleep in her crate all night without a peep. She was originally fostered with an older cat who would just lay around or sit in his chair and she really took no notice of him. However she then went to another home and seemed to have a prey drive for the cat who lived there. So it’s hard to say whether or not she would get along with the next cat she meets and at this point in time, we’re not recommending she be with one even if they’re dog savvy. She’s really good with other dogs but she doesn’t appreciate rude dogs who’ll get into het face and bark at her as she’ll just bark right back. We are only letting her be adopted to an adults only home and one that doesn’t have children coming to visit. A fenced yard would be great for her as she does enjoy being outside.  A little bit of background history on MOLASSES: she was in her Northern community when one of the networks we work with had volunteers there to do a spay/neuter/Clinic and fell in love with the wonderful nature she has. She needed to have a spay but no one came forward to claim her afterwards so they decided she was too great of a dog to leave behind so brought her back with them. They then posted her for a rescue to take and this rescue stepped up to take her in. That little tidbit is important to point out on how they felt about her and it’s relevant to this next part about her. Molasses was adopted out into a home for 9 months with young teenagers in it and there ended up being an incident and we now have to say she has a bite history. We’re a full disclosure rescue and this incident will be discussed in full with a potential adopter. It should be noted that as soon as we received her back into the rescue she went straight to a board and train programme for 4 weeks with a Behaviourist/trainer for a full assessment and she wrote up a very detailed report on her and it is also available to a potential adopter.  It is important that the adopter of MOLASSES be prepared to take her for basic training as it not only benefits her but will help to form a bond between her and her new owner. If you feel MOLASSES would be suitable for your home and lifestyle plus you have somewhat of an understanding about her then please fill out an application to meet her. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 1:30 pm

Story
I'm Bandit, and I'm on a journey to find a forever family that will appreciate my loyalty and dedication. While I've had my share of challenges, I'm working hard on becoming the best version of myself, and I'm ready for the next adventure in life. I was surrendered to Dog Tales because I was protective of my family. It takes me some time to warm up to new people, but I've been putting in the effort and making lots of progress in my training. I'm a smart pup who's eager to learn and please my humans. I need a family who is committed to continuing my training journey, and I promise to give it my all. With the right guidance, I know I can be the best companion you've ever had. I can be selective with dogs, so it's important that any potential canine companions are a good fit for my personality. Plenty of playtime and fetch sessions are a must—I absolutely love playing with my people. I'm always ready for the next adventure. Whether it's a game of fetch, a hike in the woods, or simply enjoying quality time together, I'm up for it. I'm excited to share my love, loyalty, and intelligence with a family who will appreciate all that I have to offer. If you're willing to invest time and effort into helping me become the best dog I can be, then I'm ready to be your dedicated companion. Together, we can create a future filled with love, training successes, and exciting adventures.

Story
This energetic boy is looking for a confident and active owner. Bairn is high energy and loves to keep busy! He enjoys going for runs, long walks, swimming and cuddling with his people. Bairn thrives with constant training and loves to learn new things - he is such a smarty pants! He is reactive to new people, dogs and some vehicles; he will need to be walked on a muzzle as a precaution. Bairn’s reactivity is decreased greatly with a combination of: draining his energy, always keeping distance from triggers, positive reinforcement for good behaviour, and constant training on his walks to occupy his mind and keep him in control. Bairn will need a dedicated owner to continue this with him long term. Bairn is not friendly with new people and will need slow controlled interactions when introducing him to a new person. Once he can trust you, he is a lovable and goofy guy. Patience and understanding can go a long way with Bairn and, in time, he will prove he is the best boy! He is only suitable in a house with a fully fenced yard with no small children or other dogs.
