Story
Meet Angie! Angie is a sweet, 18-month-old smooth-coated Border Collie who is looking for her forever home. This lovely girl has a gentle nature and may be a little shy when meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, she quickly warms up and shows her affectionate side. Angie thrives in the company of other dogs and loves to play, so having a canine companion in her new home is a must. She is an active, energetic dog who would enjoy daily adventures and plenty of exercise, but she's also a cuddler at heart. After a day of fun, she’ll happily curl up with her family for some quiet time. Angie would do best with a family who understands her breed’s needs for both physical activity and mental stimulation. If you’re ready to provide a loving, playful environment and have another dog ready to be her best friend, Angie could be the perfect fit for your home!

Story
Meet Wally (Walnut) Wally is an adorable Border Collie mix puppy with a sweet and playful personality! Based on his features, we suspect he’s mixed with a larger breed, so he’ll likely grow bigger than the average Border Collie. This cuddly and affectionate boy loves being around humans, soaking up all the snuggles he can get. But don’t let his sweet demeanor fool you—Wally also enjoys a good wrestling match and chasing his littermates. He’s the perfect mix of playful energy and loving companionship. Wally is crate-trained and making great progress with house training. Since he’s still learning the ropes, we recommend a home with larger children or families willing to teach him how to play gently with smaller kids. With a little patience and continued training, Wally will thrive in any loving home. Because he’s so young and adaptable, Wally is ready to adjust to just about any environment where he can receive love, attention, and plenty of playtime. Are you ready to welcome this bundle of joy into your life? Wally is waiting to meet you!

Story
Meet Hazel! Breed: Border Collie Mix (likely mixed with a larger breed) Age: Puppy Personality: Spirited, playful, and affectionate Hazel is an adorable border collie mix who’s destined to grow larger than a typical border collie. She’s the life of the party among her littermates, full of energy and playful antics. Hazel loves being outside—whether it’s chasing sticks, wrestling with her siblings, playing chase, or amusing herself by twirling after her tail. She’s curious, active, and always on the move! After burning off her boundless energy, Hazel transforms into the sweetest cuddle buddy. She’s already crate trained and is making good progress with house training. As she’s still learning the ropes of interacting with humans, Hazel would thrive in a home with older children or in an environment where she’s given the time and training to refine her playtime behavior. What Hazel Needs in a Home: Active Owners: Hazel’s energy makes her a great match for an active family or individual who enjoys outdoor activities. Patience with Training: While Hazel is still learning, consistent guidance will help her grow into the perfect companion. Larger Children or Adults: Hazel’s playfulness may be a bit too much for smaller children right now, but she’ll grow into an amazing family dog with proper training. Hazel’s adaptability and young age mean she’ll adjust well to almost any home that can provide her the love and attention she deserves. If you’re ready for an energetic, loving pup to brighten your days, Hazel is waiting for you!

Story
Meet Mabel: The Sweetheart Ready to Love You Forever Mabel is the definition of charm and sweetness wrapped in an adorable package! With her captivating freckles and a heart as pure as her eyes are bright, she’s a stunner both inside and out. Though her past is a bit of a mystery, her actions tell the story of a kind and loving soul. Before her rescue, Mabel would frequently accompany a local resident to and from the bus stop, proving she’s always had a loyal heart. Why Mabel Stands Out: Perfect Temperament: Mabel is calm, patient, and incredibly good-natured—even when her foster siblings are having a grumpy day. Intelligent and Trainable: Already a pro at commands like 'sit,' 'paw,' and 'lay down,' Mabel loves learning new tricks. She even picked up how to gently grab attention from her deaf foster grandma! Affectionate Companion: This cuddle queen thrives on praise and gives the most heartwarming hugs. A True Family Member: She’s wonderful with her tiny foster dog siblings, showcasing her nurturing side as a big sis. What Makes Mabel Special: Mabel’s loyalty knows no bounds. While she might be a little shy at first with new faces, once she’s comfortable, she’s a total lovebug, showering everyone with affection. She is potty trained and does just as well with a doggy door as without, making her a breeze to care for. Though she hasn’t been cat-tested, her gentle nature shines in every interaction. Is Mabel Your Perfect Match? If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and loving addition to your family, Mabel is ready to meet you. She’ll thrive in a home that appreciates her calm demeanor, snuggly nature, and eagerness to be part of your life. Could this freckle-faced sweetheart be the missing piece in your family?

This is Spike.  He is a beautiful boy who has lost his home through no fault of his own.  His mom has moved to a nursing home and Spike is living with a family member until his new forever home is found. He is very happy go lucky, loves to run and play. He needs to learn a few manners but sits and has so much potential with repetition and reward.  If you would like to meet Spike, please complete the adoption application so that we may see if Spike is a good fit for your family.  This does not obligate you to an adoption.  Spike is a courtesy post and is not part of our organization.  We are assisting the owner in finding Spike the home he deserves. https://form.jotform.com/truefriendsok/true-friends-animal-rescue-adoptionNovember 5, 2024, 5:14 pm

Story
Meet Eragon! Eragon is 6 months old and about 21 pounds. We are not exactly sure what Eragon is but he is "tall and lanky" so we think he may be mixed with Labrador Retriever and Border Collie. It is hard to say for sure but Eragon may be 40 to 50 pounds when fully grown. Eragon has your typically puppy energy, playful fun and adorable! He does well in a crate and could still use help with potty training and on a leash to make walks fun and exciting. Eragon has done great with other dogs and humans both big and small. Interested in becoming a forever home for Eragon Earl? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting Eragon Earl. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Eragon Earl the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our normal adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Meet Luke He is almost a year old and has spent most of his life in boarding or a rescue facility. He and his brothers, Bambi and Flower were actually transported to a rescue in Iowa and spent a few months there but they didn't have any interest. So we felt it was best to bring them back here and give them another chance here. He is great with other dogs, is jumpy and playful, not leash trained but willing to please. Skittish when approached but just needs to learn that people want to love him and give him a great life. He would benefit from structure and training. He is also better once separated from his brothers. Since they have been together their whole lives, they rely on each other and truly deserve one on one time and to be part of a family. Who can give Luke a chance to know true love and be part of a family?!
