Just a year old herself at the time, she was just terrified and starting having puppies on the shelter floor. We needed to act quickly! Fast Fiona had 8 pups, 7 survived. Fiona was the BEST momma to all those giant puppies, even though she was just a baby herself. She has raised all her pups and has been in foster, decompressing from her previous life! She is such an amazing dog! She bonds quickly and deeply to her person, she's a Velcro dog, she just wants to be where you are. She likes other dogs, but doesn't necessarily require another dog. She is good with people, kids, other animals. However she was one of those ' kids having kids' so she still very puppy like herself. She is housebroken and very well behaved! She is Very attached to her foster family, and she is a deeply emotional dog. She is one in a million! We are delighted to say that during this beautiful season of renewal and friendship and family bonding, we have 8 precious little Border Collie/Aussie mix puppies that are looking for a fresh and forever start to their life. Born about the middle of October to a beautiful Aussie mix mom, these babies were fortunately taken in by a senior couple who nurtured them for 7 weeks. Now these precious beauties are in individual foster homes and learning so much as they grow. 5 boys and 3 girls. They are handled and cuddled so much! No fear issues have touched their spirit! Mom is a 45 pound white and black beauty and we expect each of these smart pups to be in the 45-50 pound range as an adult. There are special dogs in this world. You know them when you meet them. Just like people,Kaye they are all special for their own reasons. Our blue eyed Kaye is a former mama dog that had several litters before she was two years old. Down in a very rural area of Tennessee, we had apparently helped an earlier litter get adopted out after they were found on an isolated country highway. They looked exactly like her, but yet we did not know who or where she was yet. Six months later, Kaye was discovered by an older couple that had found the previous puppies, and she was very pregnant again. We are adopting those puppies out now and they are precious like their mom. Blue Eyed Kaye probably had never had fun in her life until she came in to our foster care. Now she's having the time of her life. She's able to play and be loved and have fun. Being a stray for most of your life and having litter after litter of puppies with nowhere to go, is pretty sobering. Her beautiful blue eyes now dance with joy and delight as she plays with the resident foster dog who is half her size. Kaye is a Border Collie, Aussie and Pointer mix. She is around two years old and 47 pounds. This girl learned the doggy door within hours of arrival and she definitely hates crates. GOOD NEWS IS.... when left out during the day, she does not destroy a thing. She is very respectful. This girl has just the right energy for playfulness, and then chill time. She loves all creatures and would be a great family companion who would be wonderful with children. She can live with other dogs or cats. Or she could be a single family pet. All Kaye wants is love. Our beautiful litter of Border Collie mix puppies are ready to fly the nest the middle of January and Sugar Cookie is so excited! This beautiful little girl and her litter mates were all born around the end of October, near Halloween. Their mom is an awesome mix girl that is soft and beautiful with blue eyes. They were discovered during the early weeks of birth being nursed underneath rural is area of Middle Tennessee. This sweet puppy is being hugged and snuggled everyday by two young children that are 8 and 10 yrs. The stay at home mom is teaching them house manners and making sure all 6 of the puppies play fair!!! We think Sugar Cookie is mixed with Aussie and Border Collie and predicted to be 45 lbs. She is definitely an active breed in need of a securely fenced yard to play and run off energy that a herding breed has. There are 3 girls and 5 boys all total. The foster homes have broken down the litter in to groups for easier training. Sugar Cookie is confident and lives with all brothers. This is making her resilient and capable to hang tough, yet still stay sweet. She loves to snuggle and wants to be with you at all times. She still has lots of energy and she loves to romp and play. She never turns down a good belly rub. Even though she is considered an adult, she still has lots of puppy energy! She loves to play ball and to run around the yard. She would make a great addition to a family with an active lifestyle! She is currently located down South at our sister shelters and available for pre-adoption. We do transports to NJ once a month. She can't wait to find her forever home!
