Story
Gail is a smart and eager to please beagle mix who is blossoming into a truly wonderful dog. Gail was severely under socialized during her first months of life and had no understanding of how to exist with people. While in rescue she has learned all about how to be a part of a home, and now her foster mom is helping her to learn how to exist stress free outside of the house so that she can enjoy going on adventures with her future forever family. She is potty trained (with the rare exception of excited peeing), kennel trained and walks well on a leash when hiking on local trails.  Her ideal forever family will be an adult only home that has at least one other dog that likes to play. She is open to kids in her family’s future but would like to get to know her parents first. She is looking for a home with a fully fenced yard. Gail is not great at first introductions so we would like to find an adopter who is open to meeting her a couple of times before diving into forever with Gail. We promise she is worth the time investment.  Gail is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated.  Gail is a year old and 35lbs.   To help pay for vet bills and care (transportation, food, toys, etc..) a $200 donation is requested at the time of adoption. All of our adoptions are contingent upon an approved application, home visit, reference check, obedience training agreement, and signing of adoption contract. All our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped before adoption. Our dogs are companion animals that live indoors as part of your family. Please do not apply if your plan is to have them as outside dogs, garage dogs, porch dogs or outside kennel dogs.  We do not ship dogs.   All of our dogs are in private foster homes. We are not a shelter with hours. A visit can be arranged after an adoption questionnaire has been filled out and sent in. Please try to email first. We are all volunteers that work so we can not easily take or make phone calls.December 14, 2024, 4:02 pm

Story
Moose is full of happiness as you can image. He has strong sense of herding and is always down for a walk through the woods. Moose is in need a home with lots of room to run and play. He has lived with other dogs so it is recommended that he go to a home with other dogs. While he enjoys showing cats how much love he can give, it would be recommended that he goes to a home without cats.

Story
Jack Blue Heeler mix Neutered Male 5 years old, 50 pounds Sometimes, when we transfer dogs from crowded shelters, we roll the dice, but Jack has been a dream to foster. Jack’s foster mom tells us that he is very sweet, loving and friendly. He loves to ride in the car and Jack puts the joy in walking when they go twice per day. Recently his fosters brought in a Yorkshire terrier and they had so much fun together… no problems whatsoever adapting to one another. Also, they decided to try taking Jack to the dog park and reported that he enjoyed running with the other dogs there. Jack is roughly five years old and 50 pounds. He’s neutered, current on his vaccines and microchipped. The shelter listed him as a blue heeler mix, so his breed would be happiest in a home with activity. He is house trained, leash trained and crate trained. Jack also knows sit, shake and come, as just a few of his commands. So, it’s safe to say, Jack is ready if you are! Since he’s been such a love and we fell short on our goal to have him posted before Valentine’s Day, we’re offering a $50 discount on his adoption fee (normally $300.00)  for any applications received before the end of February. Please apply online at www.NebraskaNoKill.org.  February 22, 2025, 9:27 am

Story
Meet Mantis, this special boy is looking for a special boy to give him all the love he wants! Mantis is deaf and has vision impairment so he is easy to startle so he would do best in a home with no young kids that may be a bit too rowdy for him.He has done well with dogs in the shelter and previously lived with dogs, he would just prefer a calmer dog friend. He is an easy going guy, he just needs a family that understands his needs due to being deaf. If your ready to fall in love with this sweet boy, come in today :) Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Blue Merle Weight: 87 Age: 6yrs 2mths 3wks
